"Elegant dining in flipflops"
Located at the beach near the airport at the roundabout. Owner Gerco (chef) and Luc (Maitre d') have created a unique dining experience where you can enjoy the best Aruba has to offer: a great view of the ocean and sunset, experienced and friendly staff and high quality food.
Ideal for special occasions or just a wonderful night out!

Encantados de la comida fui con mi esposa, la próxima vez q vuelva a Aruba, vendré nuevamente a este restaurant
Our 2nd favorite after flying fishbone! Great place!!
Just got back from barefoot and im glad we found this fabulous place last year and returned again. Our waitress michelle was fantastic and very helpful getting a perfect meal for my daughter who has some strict food guidelines that need to be followed. The atmosphere is fantastic, excellent and friendly service with great, well prepared and innovative food preparation. One must try the scallops speared with vanilla. This is a must on anyones trip to aruba especially if you are a foody.
We went to Barefoot restaurant for my husband's birthday on April 1, 2012. Although not the easiest place to find if you aren't familiar with the island, it has a beautiful setting on the water. The decor is tasteful and classy, and the service was top-notch. The owner saw my camera on the table and asked if we wanted a photo taken. I had steak that was delicious. My husband got steak tips which were done in a sauce and although he liked it, by his own admission, he did not read the description well enough as to how they were prepared. He did enjoy the meal though, but I think he would have enjoyed my strip steak more. Since I told them it was his birthday when making the reservation, they gave us 2 glasses of champagne which was a nice touch. We would definitely go back to this restaurant again.
We went to Barefoot on the Beach last Wednesday, March 28th. We loved it! The food was very good. My husband had the red snapper,Grouper, and Mahi Mahi (a nice portion of each) and he loved it. The mashed potatoes had a very different taste, but they were good. Almost tasted like vanilla. I had the Romano Crusted Grouper and it was excellent. Barefoot serves nice portions and have a nice wine/specialty drink selection. The Captains choice dessert was awesome! A little bit of everything to satisfy every sweet tooth. There were a couple tables with chidren, which I was not thrilled about. I think this is a romantic dinner spot, so I would like to been away from the tables with children. But, overall, this restaurant is one of the best. We will definitely return when we come back to Aruba.
March 2012, we went to Barefoot for my husbands birthday. Great spot on the beach. So beautiful. I had delicous snapper and my husband had delicious seafood sampler. Greek salad was so good! It is clearly one of the nicest settings on the island. The only problem I have is the smoking. It says NO SMOKING, yet there was a family at the window Not near the bar or outside....chain smoking and it really takes away from the wonderful evening. there should be a section near bar, or outside just for smokers, not in the best seats which are in front. I will go back, we love it, but do something about the smokers......The staff gave my husband a beautiful desert with sparklers for his birthday So nice!
BAREFOOT continues to impress us and, as more people patronize the place, the consensus seems to be in line with our assessment of the place. BAREFOOT is a good restaurant and its location is one of the best around. Last year we were intrigued by some renovations going on in the neighborhood and it appears that those efforts were simply to spruce up the area and a commendable job has been done with that. Think of BAREFOOT as a new and better version of its locational predecessor, Marandi, and you can begin to understand the quality of this place. Go and enjoy.
Back on Aruba again.
We've experienced again the hospitality of the staff at barefoot.
Great dinner, two tuna and pork tenderloin.
Afterwards a gerat coffee, nutty irishman.
Many thanks to Luc, Gerco, Dennis and all the very kind staff of barefoot.
A great evening in a tropical environment with delicious food.
Just go there !!!
This is a must visit spot. The food, service, atmosphere etc is all exceptional. It is officially my fav on the Island.
Thanks Luc.
We had 3 remarkable dinners at this beautiful restaurant. There were five of us on Valentines Day and each of us were
very happy. Can't wait to return in 2013 & visit with Luc
again.
Another great meal at Barefoot. This was our second visit, this time with a party of ten. The restaurant/kitchen was able to handle this size group with no problem, and this was tied for our best meal of the week. The ambience and food are definitely worth the taxi ride ($17-19) from Palm Beach.
We were seated promptly at our reservation time, inside under the palapa. If you want a seat on the beach I would request it when making the reservation. A variety of appetizers and entrees were had by our group, all were well prepared. The Duo of Tuna was good but the tartar part was a little bland. Goat cheese medallions have a very mild goat cheese that leave you wanting more. Also, the tomato soup was good. A special tuna tataki appetizer wazs perfectly prepared and seasoned. For entrees, all fish dishes were prepared perfectly, not overcooked and flavorful. Also, the pork tenderloin and truffle tenderloin were well received. The chicken and pineapple was good but a little too sweet for a full size entree.
Overall, a very good meal, and we will definitely be back next year.
a must dining experience; incredible food; fabulous sunsets (made reservations at 6:30 PM at beginning of March as the sun begins to go down); perfect setting; as they say "Elegant Dining in Flipflops"; have dined here twice during our two week stay; the lobster cappuccino was a wow; surf and turf delicious; accommodating staff; can't wait to return next year.
Wonderful setting (dinner with your toes in the sand) wonderful staff and hospitality and wonderful food. Can't wait to go back next year.
What a fabulous dining experience! We have been home just over a week, yet the memory of our dinner at Barefoot deliciously lingers. Our food and its presentation were a diner's delight, expertly served by our fun and knowledgeable waitress who suggested a smoked beef carpaccio with which to start: outstanding! My dinner choice was the Grouper Romana which was moist and delectable, fulfilling in every way. A combination of walnut, hazelnut and pistachio ice creams for dessert made for a virtual party in my tummy. There is nothing that can quite compare to the ambience of dining on the beach in the Caribbean, especially when one of the cruise ships sets sail right offshore, lights ablaze. Accolades to Gerco and his staff for the wonders that come from his kitchen, and, above all, to the friendship, warmth and graciousness of Luc, co-owner and maitre d'. Dining at Barefoot is a treat not to be missed!
Wonderful restaurant! Beautiful setting at Sunset, wonderful attentive service and great great food. The goat cheese appetizer was one of the best ever!
Will definitely be back next year!
This has been our second meal at barefoot. the first time this trip we were seated out on the beach. gorgeous view, great food and service.
Tonight we went to barefoot but sat inside underneath the beautiful thatched roof. Had a fantastic meal (grouper with shrimp, great goat cheese fritter appetizer and amazing dessert brownie with ice cream). Service was incredible. by far one of the best restaurants on this island as far as we are concerned(we've been coming to aruba about 6 years in a row). Our only complaint is that there was a couple smoking at a table near us. there were four of us and we all felt it kind of ruined our dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant, i just hope they can adopt a non smoking policy or at least have the smokers sit on the beach.
Barefoot makes for a fantastic evening. They greeted us upon arriving. We were seated out on the sand(they do have provisions incase of rain). The service was excellent! Nicky provide excellent service & became our official photographer. The meal was great from the appetizer, main course to the dessert. We will definitely dine at Barefoot on our return visit to Aruba and recommend it to others.
My husband & I went last night. Enjoyed a great sunset. He had lamb, which came with a very generous portion & cooked to perfection. I had the grouper with the mango cream cheese topping. It was spectacular. This restaurant isn't easy to find because of all the park construction, but it is well worth going. Don't miss it.
Barefoot has been one of our favorite restaurants for the last year. We took friends to dinner the first week of January and as always the setting was beautiful, the food was delicious but the table right next to us decided to pull out a big cigar and light it up. The maitre d came by to ask how everything was and by now the cigar smoke had engulfed our delicious meal. We told him it was unacceptable to allow cigar smoking in such a nice restaurant. He kindly went to the table and moved them to a more remote location, away from most of the guest dining on the beach. On a previous visit we sat on the beach and the locals next door filled our meal with cigarette smoke which was also unacceptable.
This particular night the palapa dining area was filed with cigarette smoke. We walked thru to use the restroom and to enter and exit but could have never sat under the palapa. Barefoot is an amazing restaurant and like so many other great restaurants in Aruba should consider a non smoking policy. Most of us prefer not to have our delicious meal and beautiful beach atmosphere polluted with cigarette or cigar smoking. Please adapt a non smoking policy.
We celebrated our 10th anniversary by dining at Barefoot at the recommendation of 2 hotel concierge and were not disappointed.
The waitress brought us a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversay and was very helpful.
My wife had the pork medallions in a chimichurra sauce and I had the mixed grill of pork, chicken and tenderloin. Both meals were cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were delicious, but we could have used a little more.
The desserts were great as well, we shared the fresh brownie sundae and the chocolate mousse.
It was a beautiful setting and a great experience. We plan on coming back next year.
We go to Aruba every year the second week of January and this is our favorite place to dine....leaving on Friday for our 2 weeks vacation and will go here at least 3 times for dinner. FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS
We ate @ Barefoot twice during our recent stay after the stellar meal and service we had at our first visit. Our 1st meal consisted of one of the chef's specials and a fish medley both were excellent as was our service even though the restaurant was hosting 50+ person Xmas party for a local business. Our 2nd visit just didn't match up hence the 5 rating. I opted for the lamb entree which was listed as a small rack and sliced leg of lamb for $38. The portion of sliced lamb was miniscule (3 paper thin overcooked slices) the rack 3 ribs, which as everyone knows does not contain a lot of meat. The entree is WAY overpriced and mediocre at best. My wife's grouper with fresh fruit salsa was good but in contrast to our first visit not in the same league. Service was not nearly as attentive as our previous visit and there was no massive party to compete with regular customers. A beautiful restaurant with tremendous potential, but very inconsistent.
We went to Barefoot in December, 2010. It was one of the worst meals we have ever had in Aruba. The fish was bland and tasteless. We were with 3 other couples and they all liked their meals. When making my dinner reservations for this year I have left it off our list.
Barefoot is my favorite restaurant on the island by far!
The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is sure to exceed your expectations! When they say "fine dining in flip flops" they're not kidding!!! There's nothing like eating an amazing fresh fish dinner with your feet in the sand while sitting at a table under the stars (someone pinch me)!
This was our second year going there and we cannot wait to go back. Last year, our entire family (18 people) went there for dinner and they were able to accommdate us with a great table and amazing service. The staff is so friendly and the owner Luc will bendover backwards to insure his patrons are happy.
Go to Barefoot your first night on the Island as I am certain you will want to return prior to leaving!
The restaurant business is a challenge by its very nature, but the owners of this one never back down and never give up. The city took their water away unanounced the night of our most recent visit, working late into the evening to repair a water main, but the food, service and ambiance was still second to none. We are back for our second time to this delightful location set in full view of landing aircraft and gorgeous sunsets. The entres were beautiful as well as delicious. The staff is attentive, but not overbearing. Our server, Kim, was a terrific server. As in our first dinner, Luc, the maitre d and part owner checked in on us. Even with a full restaurant he took the time to discuss our experience. We are looking forward to our next time on Aruba. You have a limited number of days when you visit here. Don't miss Barefoot on your next trip.
