I gave this place two chances and both times, it was horible. The enviroment is very nice and the service is great, but as far as the food goes, it is the worst i have tasted, for a restaurant this place should have better food. I have tasted the sushi and a cuople of their main dishes and i am not impressed. There are better places on the island to go have Chinese food.

The setting was amazing and the service was fantastic. The appetizers and meals were GREAT! This meal was one of the best we had during our stay in Aruba.

My husband and I went crazy when we knew there was a Japengo in Aruba, he used to go in a weekly basis to the one in La Jolla.

Contrary to what JC says below, we were NOT dissapointed with the food. We have a refined palette ;-) and know what is a good sushi/asian food. We were so delighted with the food that we ate till there was no more space in our stomach.

The service was amazing, the server even went out of his way to go out of the restaurant to take a pic of us.

A MUST is their Gran Marnier cheesecake, I've never had a cheesecake with Creme Burle on top! Enough said, we went twice in 1 week!

The atmosphere and service were great. The food was mediocre. Everything was too salty and the chef didn't seem to have a good understanding of Asian spices or tastes. The ingredients were fresh (we had lobster and tuna) but they were ruined by a preparation that reminded me of a cheap chinese restaurant in the US.

But a lot of people seem to like this place, so I think that it is probably fine if you are used to the overly salty US style of Asian cuisine. But if you have a more refined palatte for authentic Asian food, you will be disappointed.

Cafe Japengo is in the Hyatt hotel, where my bf and I stayed. You get real service and good quality food here. Service could not have been better. The food was delicious and fresh - I had the seared ahi tuna with soba noodles with a glass of rieseling. We had a beef appetizer that was also yummy. The atmosphere is also great. There is a pond with black swans and fish outside. Overall, top notch restaurant. A little pricey, but all restaurants in Aruba are (for this type of quality at least).

Originally confused our reservations with Blossoms's but was very impressed by the setup and we decided to eat here instead. What a wise choice! The sushi was the best I have had on Aruba. The noodles and plum sauce put on the table immediately pacified the kids. The service was excellent and the view made the dinner an enjoyable evening. Will definately return.

Cafe Japengo was delicious! The prices were consistent with other restaurants in the area. The service was fabulous, and we were seated at a romantic outdoor table. The sushi was good, but overpriced. I recommend Cafe Japengo!
