Our last night on the Island, we wanted to eat something fairly quick so that we could enjoy the nightlife. We were staying at the Renaissance, so this was perfect. The Plaza burger was EXCELLENT! Perfectly cooked and so yummy. Also, the chicken kabobs in the peanut sauce were also very good. The waitress was very nice and the service was quick. The apple pie was good, but had a cake crust, which was a little too different for my liking. A great place to take children, even though our children were not with us. There is not a ton on the menu, but what we ordered was very good. Two years ago, we ate breakfast and it was also very good. If you want good food without paying a lot, this is the restaurant for you.
Just had burgers and sandwiches here one night. The service and atmosphere were friendly. Not gourmet dining but perfect for what we needed.
We were in Aruba in December and stopped by the Cafe' The Plaza with friends and loved it. We had to go back to have the Shoarma chicken pita. It was excellent. The staff is friendly and treated us like family. We did go there at 2:00 pm so it was not as busy. Thank you for your warm hospitality.
I stayed in the Renaissance hotel with my wife during our honeymoon. The Café The Plaza is nearby. We ate there a few times and liked it very much. The atmosphere and the service is very friendly. A couple of times there was good live music. The prices were lower when compared to other places we've been to. The food has both dutch and american specialties.
We stay next door at the Aruba Renaissance and stop in to Cafe the Plaza often. It's a great place for a few afternoon beers with lunch, and they have good food all during the day.
For a real treat, stop by on Sunday and order the HodgePodge special, a Dutch staple. Whatever meat they have left in the fridge on Sunday (might be a wurst, a giant beef meatball) on a bed of mashed potatoes with sauerkraut mixed in, and a little brown gravy over the top. Awesome! One of our favorites.
Our favorite "off the beaten track" place in Aruba! Good breakfast for a great price. Good lunch. We absolutely love the quiz show on Tuesday night. Dick cannot keep his mouth shut and gets caught up in the excitement. We tried helping a local contestant, but probably hurt him more. I just love the people who work here. To them, remember the SL65!
Had a delicious, very reasonably priced, lunch here and the service was wonderful. From the time we walked in the door, everyone was so very friendly. We went again for dinner, and the food was again outstanding and the prices and service were fabulous. We have added this to our list of "must do restaurants" in Aruba. Thank you to the staff and chef for a delicious meal in a great place.
Had a nice, inexpensive, basic breakfast here before a day of shopping downtown. Nice, quiet relaxing place and great coffee (Smit & Dorlas).
Good for lunch, very convenient to Renaissance Hotel. Nice outdoor cafe. Lot's of Dutch people there! Typical western menu comfort food. Child friendly.
We went there twice because the prices were cheap and the view was nice with live singing entertainment. We waited to get a seat for about 1/2 hour (others more daring just sat down at a table and just got served without waiting). The first night we went we tried the bitterballs (not so great- but locals love them), My husband had a chicken pita sand. which was good and I had chicken kabobs with peanut sauce- chicken was good (same taste as my hubands) but peanut sauce was think and grave like- not so good. The second day we came back for lunch to try again because of the prices but were disappointed with the selection offered and left without ordering (note- a fish sandwich is not a fillet but a mixture between imitation crab and tuna fish!) Would recommend for a cheap dinner but only to go once during your stay.
The dinner was great,
The waiters realy want to make sure everyting is oke. And the environment is beautifull there is an live band playing for you outside when you eat your dinner on the terrace.
Great!
I always thought this restaurant was pretty good and recommended it for a staff dinner. I called to make a reservation for approximately 30 persons the receptionist refused to take a message, insisting I call back at a later hour to do this. I mentioned that they are in the F&B industry and that he should make an effort to be more friendly, basically I was told that he did not need the business, that the restaurant had enough clients. Oh well, our staff will enjoy dinner where it's appreciated. Thanks, Plaza Cafe!
After arriving 5/27 at noon, we knew that our hotel room would not be ready until at least 2:00 so decided to have some lunch at the Plaza. Because the interior was smokey, we ate outside - hot but smoke free - the beer was cold. the service was excellent and the food was great. Highly recommended
We went here for lunch after a morning of fishing. They cooked the fish that we caught and served it up to us. The Staff was suberb, and a great bunch of people who made you feel right at home. The staff welcomed us as soon as we stepped on premise and made us feel like a part of thier family. We got to hear some of thier local fishing stories and it was a fantastic way to finish off a great morning of fishing. The fish was cooked with great flavor and their garlic cream sauce make it complete. We will definately be back here next time we visit the Island.
This was a great restaurant. We actually only went here for breakfast. They had a special when were were there in early September for our honeymoon for $8. It was Toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, REAL oranje juice and i hope im not missing anything else. It was a deal and it was delish! That was our breakfast spot we went there 3 or 4 times and each time was great!
Goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding en erg vriendelijk personeel! Ga zo door zou ik zeggen!!!!
I really like Cafe the Plaza. They have a great menu and it isn't expensive. They have the best sate en salades! Also it's relax to chill there on the terrace!
We ate lunch here one afternoon and found out that this is a place where alot of the Arubans go for lunch during the work week.
Lunch is salads or sandwiches - most priced below $7.
Friendly service and a great place for a quick bite while shopping. Seating is indoors (A/C) or outdoors.
