great dining
There were 10 of us for dinner after the Kentucky Derby...owner graciously offered to honor his "early bird special" menu, even tho' it was past the hours offered. food was excellent, as was the service. Our waiter,Aldo, was charming and efficient. presentation lovely. A great addition to Paradise Beach!
Excellent food & service
We enjoyed 2 dinners & 1 breakfast at Carambola's & we were pleased every time. Frank Kelly our waiter for the dinners is charming & accommodating. The seafood pasta is fab. We highly recommend the Sangria cocktail - wow! Our breakfast waiter (sorry don't remember his name) told us he didn't speak English very well but it didn't matter. He is sweet and every bit as accomodating as Frank. We'd definitely dine here again.
lekker
lekkerste eten op aruba en beste service top
A Wonderful Evening
What a wonderful dining experience. We arrived at the restaurant on a Sunday night - there was keyboardist there playing background music and doing a great job. Our waiter, Frank, was just terrific - attentive and knowledgable. The four of us all ordered different meals (I had the pork chop) and everybody loved what they ordered. The restaurant has a homey, friendly Aruban vibe and we just enjoyed every minute there. I will definitely return on my next trip to paradise!
the carambola is one of the hidden pearls of aruba
our waiter was frank kelly he was out standing
we will be back next year for month so they are on our list we give the carambola five stars enjoy
Carambola is located in the Paradise Beach Villas Resort in the low rise district on Eagle Beach and a short drive from the high rise hotels where we were staying.
This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were warmly greeted at the door and quickly seated. The menu provided many offerings and we chose the Catch of the Day and the New Zealand Rack of Lamb which were both excellent. The wine list provided many choices and went with a recommendation from our waiter who was very helpful. Service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Having the choice of eating inside or out, I would recommend dining in the beautiful dining room and air conditioned comfort.
The owner, Martin Haselhoef, came to our table to ask how everything was and the answer was excellent. We will definately return to this charming restaurant.
We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem with its reasonably priced good food and above average service. This restaurant has achieved what other restaurants strive for! The dishes are well prepared and tasty. The servers are friendly and attentive and you are quite satisfied at the end of the meal!
The fisherman's soup was well prepared and tasty, the seafood in the soup was not over cooked, The salmon and the grouper were moist and tender.
We are glad we found this restaurant and will be back next year when we return to Aruba! We heartily recommend this restaurant.
treated very nice service and food was excellent. was my birthday treated me like a king would recommend and definetly go back
We have been coming to Aruba for years and love to try new places. We stay at LaCabana and walked over one night we were taken in immediately and our server Frank Kelly was amazing. Great recommendations and very accomodating for our 1 year old. Realizing you have to get food out fast. This was a wonderful place. Thank you again
I will not comment on Child friendly because I did not take notice. My husband and I ate there twice. The most disappointing thing is that we did not try this place sooner so we could have eaten there more while we were in Aruba. The food and Sangria was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and spot on. I recommend you try it but make sure you don't book it full in Feb. I want to make sure I can get in. Love,Love,Love this place.
We ate here on our first and last night in Aruba. Initially because it was in close proximity to our timeshare, but we ate their again because of the good food and over the top service. We chose to eat outside and found the waiters very attentive. Our bread basket, nor water glass never empty. We had the grouper, salmon and both meals were good. Really liked the choice of vegetables served with the meal. Our waitor Juan Carlos was helpful in making our choices and making our dining experience most enjoyable. we will return next year.
What a great meal! We try differant restaurants each time we visit Aruba. We will be back here again. It was our last night and we picked a winner. The Seafood Pasta was excellent, along with everything else. The service (Aldo was our server) was perfect. The Sangria was a treat and desserts were a perfect finish.

The food and service was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody vacationing in Aruba.
Extremely tasty Grouper. Best one I had during my vacation. Everything else were EXCELLENT. I recommended this restaurant very highly to anyone who enjoys great food.
We had a perfect experience. Went 4 times during my recent vacation. Great menu and a wonderful staff. (Frank, Aldo, Juan Carlos) are the best. Recommending this place to everyone. Keep it up.
We just returned from Aruba and while there we decided to try a new restaurant. We had the Peanut Soup that was to die for. There isnt anything that we could find wrong with this place. We will be back next year.
Our first time at this restaurant, and with 10 people, our reviews were mixed. All liked the food, but none of us were overwhelmed. Half would go back and half would not. The table was ready at our reserved time, and the staff was pleasant. We sat inside which had very nice decor....note: bathrooms are upstairs. There is also outdoor dining roadside.
Appetizers: french onion soup was good/different with a lighter, less salty flavor, infused with fresh herbs/strong tarragon flavor. The peanut soup was also liked.
Entrees: the bouillabaisse, scallops, and red snapper with creole sauce were hits. The grouper special was questionable, which is surprising because grouper is a locally caught fish. 3 of us ordered this dish but all questioned what type of fish it actually was. All having had grouper many times before, we had never seen a filet of grouper so thin.
For those of you who drink, the sangria was excellent and well worth the money.
The food is delicious, excellent
sure i will be back
Blessings

The food is excellent, everything els is just A 1.
we will retrun back to our next visit.
Pleasant Good Delicious!!!!
After reading all the rave reviews we tried Carambola. The outside is a covered patio on a parking lot. We arrived at 7 and were finally served an okay meal at 9:00. Will not be returning.
This is our second year dining at Carombola and again we were thoroughly delighted with the food and the ambiance. The presentation was wonderful as well as the food. I have had lunch and several dinners and each meal was delicious. My lunch favorite is their Mango Chicken Salad and their burgers are the best on the Island. For dinner we have several favorites including the Red Snapper that is served as a whole fish with an east meet west seasoning. The presentation is amazing. The grouper and the seafood pasta is also terrific. If quality and flavor are important to you don't miss dining at Carombola.
We were staying at Paradise Beach for my 60th birthday celebration early February of this year. I just found a biz card when I was cleaning out my purse (!) and wanted to write a little something about this restaurant. Who knew such a nice place was just steps away from where we were staying! We ate at a lot of great restaurants during this trip and Carambola was one of them. My sister arrived a few days before us and I couldn't believe the staff remembered her and what kind of wine she had the nite she ate there. Our waiter's name was FRANK and he we had wonderful service - in addition to a really delicious meal. I highly recommend Carombola (in addition to Passions on the Beach).

The food as magnifique, the service by Froink Kelly even better.
Last night was our first dining experience at Carambola. We were warmly greeted at the door, and it just kept getting better and better! The house bread was a wonderful crispy and light tomato bread which was accompanied by a 'lite' homemade chile/garlic olive oil. We chose the house chardonnay(Chilean wine) which was bright and smooth with a fruitiness, and paired well with the proportionate ceasar salad (lots of fresh parmesan) and seared tuna appetizer (fresh but had a bit too much terriyaki sauce.) We both chose the grouper special and switched the mashed potatoes for rice. The grouper was as fresh as you can get, grilled perfectly and presented on a bed of sauted to perfection vegetables. Masha Danki to our very special and attentive waiter - Frank Kelly. You did a fantastic job...We will be back!!
We had high expectations after reading other reviews, and we were not disappointed. The grouper was so fresh and tender I swear it was caught upon order, and the beef tips in fettuccine were perfect. We also had the peanut soup (don't miss it!) and the warm goat cheese...mmmm. Our server Aldo was attentive but not hovering and personable. A lovely dining experience. This is not a family restaurant..more for a romantic dinner or adult party, as the ambiance is low key and mellow. Try it!
