Best meal i ever had

We arrived for dinner with a party of eight. everybody had appetizer's and entree's. I had the escargot and pork tenderloin, which was cooked to perfection. that was by far the best meal I ever had. Everybody enjoyed their dishes as well. My friends wanted to go to another place for dinner but I managed to persuade them. after dinner they told me that it was the best meal they had on the island. I felt wonderful about that. This restaurant was recommended to us and we'll also do the same. Carambola is definitely worth a visit.

Great Restaurant

We had dinner here twice during our recent visit to Aruba. This is a restaurant that serves fabulous seafood. The presentation & quality is top notch. The atmosphere is lovely & a great place for an intimate dinner with your special person. Our waiters were Eduardo & Marlon. They were pleasant & informative & truly added to the overall experience. We would rank their level of service to be among the best we have ever had. This is a must on any Aruba vacation.

Nice new find

We have been coming to Aruba for decades. This is the first time we tried Carambola. The restaurant itself was pleasant and the greeting was very friendly. Our waiter, Eduardo, was friendly, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The food was very good. Standouts were the Peanut Soup, the Roast Duck and the Boulliobaise. The desserts were good as well. Wine list was good, with some variety and choices, and wines to fit all budgets.

We would definitely return.

Great discovery!!

We've been coming to Aruba once a year for 15 years and have dined in a number of very good restaurants. We're adding Carambola to our "go to" list after trying it on this trip. Although not on the beach, nice ambience, great service and excellent food. Service was attentive, cordial and at the right pace. When you dine you want a well paced service. Menu was full of very attractive choices. Definitely recommend it - ranks among the best in the island; and there are many good ones!

Don't Ever Change, Aldo

I wish I had written this review sooner so I could be specific about the dishes we ordered. This was one of the last restaurants we went to on our trip, and I wish we had discovered it sooner. Very well run establishment. Their staff was genuine, friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings and the island. I can't say that I'd return to any of the other restaurants we tried, but Carambola is a wonderful exception.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!

I love to travel and I love ARUBA! I usually make a few trips a year and let me just say, THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT for service, food, and presentation - HANDS DOWN! Its MY favorite in all the world! From the very first time I went to the Carambola, ALWAYS greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome... the Grouper Special is my favorite!!! Presentation is awesome! I am always relaxed, never hurried... I enjoy the outdoor space myself. Open air, very nice. I make a reservation before I leave the states! I can not wait to get back! (I always eat at Carambola on my first night.) I have tried several dishes and love the tropical dishes best. But rest assured, its ALL VERY DELISH!!!!

We love Carambola!

We stay at La Cabana resort and this is just a minute walk away from our condo. I have to admit my group came to this restaurant 4 different times during our week stay. It was absolutely wonderful. Food was great every time, and we tried many different entrees. Also the wine was to die for. Not only was the food great, the service was amazing!! All of the waiters were very personable and extremely accommodating. I enjoyed every minute i spent at Carambola. Highly recommend this restaurant!! I do recommend eating inside however because it can get a little windy on the deck but both are great!

Dinner at Carambola

Four of us recently had dinner at Carambola. We wanted to try a restaurant in Aruba we had never eaten at, so after reading reviews, most of them being excellent, the few negative reviews make you wonder... if some people are really miserable and never happy or their meal was really bad. We all loved our meals from the appetizers down to the desserts. Our waiter Aldo was one of the most attentive and happiest we found in Aruba!! We will definately return and highly recommend this restaurant. We came to the conclusion some people are just not happy with anything and I'm glad we are not that type.

We discovered this place our last night and wish we'd found it earlier. My fussy husband had the linguini with clams and I had the mahi-mahi. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. Our waiter, Aldo, was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to trying more dishes when we return next year.

Once and done!

I just returned from eating at Carambola after talking my brother and his wife into trying my pick for new place to dine in Aruba. Surf and turf: surf fine but the turf was tough. service could not have been better but I was embarresed to find that they do NOT accept travelers checks. I will not recommend this restaurant.

Amazing Thanksgiving Experience!

We found Carambola when we got to the island and decided to have Thanksgiving dinner there. It was better than we expected.

The service was amazing (special recognition to Aldo - he's THE MAN), and the food was incredible. Four adults and three kids, some having a traditional American Thanksgiving feast and others sampling different cuisine, but nothing but rave reviews on every bite from everyone at the table.

The display at the front of the restaurant was playing kitschy 80's music videos that were great to reminisce over and show to our kids, and the rest of the ambiance was "elegantly casual". Very posh for the places that we had been, but none of us felt out of place in our shorts and t-shirts.

One of our best dining experiences on the island and one of the first places we will head back to when we return!

I found the restaurant to be ordinary..nothing special. Food was just ok. For a Saturday night to have only 3 tables full tells me something. There are so many great restaurants in Aruba I don't think I will be back to this one.

This is our second visit to Carambola, and it was even better than the last one. I think the title of my review defines the quality of the restaurant, as it is one of the best restaurants on the island. Carambola offers excellent dishes, perfect ambiance for all and a loving staff that will make sure you feel right at home.

They can count on our next visit.

Very Attractive place

Went to Carambola for the 1st time - had planned on going there last trip, but they were closed for vacation. We both had the special Surf & Turf, which included soup and a glass of Sangria. I'm not a big fan of Sangria, but I think this is the best Sangria we've had in Aruba (with Smokey Joe's being the absolute worst). Since DW doesn't eat red meat, we asked if they could give her the lobster tails and I would have the Filet Mignons - they happily obliged. The lobster tails were bigger than expected, so DW took one back to our room and had 2 lunches with it. Price was $110.05, which included 2 drinks and tip. The inside dining room is very attractive, but my complaint is that they have a very large flat screen TV showing music videos which I think detracts from the fine dining experience. When the live entertainer started playing, they turned off the volume on TV, but kept the picture on. IMHO, TV's belong in sports bars. Would definitely return, but would look for a table that doesn't face the TV.
