Avocado Del Mar: Skip it, the crab didn't taste fresh and had too much dressing.
Surf and Turf: The filet was excellent- good flavor, perfectly cooked. The lobster tail was very small and over cooked.
Chilean Sea Bass: The fish was breaded and greasy, the white wine sauce, potatoes and vegetables were excellent.
Chocolate Marquis: This dessert and the filet were top notch!

Hmm, how am I going to say this diplomatically. CHALET SUISSE as the survivor of three very distinguished restaurants, including Chez Mathilde and Le Dome, may be on the verge of being unable to carry forth the great traditions that these three established and maintained. CHALET SUISSE is still very good, but our experience this year was less than what we have come to expect of the establishment. The food simply was not prepared to the standards that they are and have been capable of doing. Their rack of lamb cannot be beat, but other dishes are not rising to the same standards. For this reason we did not retunr a second time this year as we usually do and we do have some quality concerns moving forward. There are far too many up and coming restaurants for any established one to become complacent and we hope that is not what is happening to CHALET SUISSE. In the past, it has been an incredibly good restaurant and we will continue to dine here until that is no longer the case.

In our last night in Aruba, the 7 of us went to Chalet Suisse, located in front of Eagle Beach. We had not been to in years. EVERYTHING was just great, from the food to the service, from the steak to the fish and the desserts were yummy. All enjoyed the meal and we all left very happy. A nice clean environment. A must see.

On 2/20/12 we (a party of 3) with reservations visited this restaurant. They seated us in at the worst table in the place, two of us with wall on our side and one facing a window, only to be told by the hostess this was the best seat in the house,(I love how the people here are always full of bologna) I asked for another table but she could not accomodate us. We were then asked 4 times for our drink order, we were not having drinks. They give you bread which is very good and one tiny cube of butter. When asked for more got another little cube. Two of us orders the lamb chops which came with 3 little cubed potatoes and a vegetable. The other plater was a seafood platter with those same three tiny potatoes and vegetable. We were still hungry, but there was no more butter for the bread.Next, did we want dessert, well yes but from Baskin Robbins.Cutting our loss for three meals for $143.00. Visit the island every year and will not be going back to this place.

Our return visit was very disappointing. The rack of lamb was very fatty and the servers didnt seem to care. Two of the four dinners came out well after the first two. We will think twice about returning.

First time we went to aruba was Oct 2010. We visited Chalet Suisse and OMG the food was wonderful. Three of us had the Filet (the best anywhere) and I had the chilian sea bass (white fish VERY GOOD). We returned in Feb and again in October of 2011 and could not wait to visit again. Our next visit is March 2012 and we are ALL looking forward to going for the Filet and now french onion soup. ALL OF THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING.

If I could give this place all 11s, I would. For the last 10 years this is always our first stop on the island, and we are never disappointed. The staff works like a beautifully choreographed ballet...of all the wonderful eateries here, this is the one where we always feel most pampered. Your wine glass never gets empty and you wait for nothing..every server is friendly and professional and the food is always phenomenal. A do not miss place!

Just came back from dinner, had the chef suggested appitiezers, my wife had the Arugula salad and fish cakes, very good. I had the chicken in pastery and white cream sauce. The chicken was a tad dry, but overall it was good. We both had the lamb and it was as good as any I had anywhere, better than most. She had the strudel with ice cream and I had the chocolate marquie for desert, both very good. They make their own ice cream, nice touch. They were VERY busy, but the service was outstanding. We will be back

We haven't been in Chalet Swiss for a couple of years, and it is so nice to be back. There were five of us, and we all enjoyed our meals. Everything was just right. My lamb was one of the best (and I love lamb) and the portion was also very very satisfying! The best restaurant on Aruba in my opinion.

We ate here last week and would recommend others traveling to Aruba to add this to your list. The restaurant is definitely known for their service and good food. I had a filet and based on a few others I had this past week, the one at Chalet Suisee was cooked as expected and the quality was much better than the others. I'm also in love with the large bread basket you get loaded with fresh rolls and loads of garlic bread. Overall, a favorite of ours and can't wait to go back on our next trip.

The only reason I did not give the food a 10 was the dishes needed a little more flavor such as the meat being slightly seasoned in my beef stroganoff. It was very good, but just not outstanding. Definately recommend this restaruant as a must on a trip here. Service was outstanding and the staff very friendly.

Chalet Suisse is by far my favorite restaurant in Aruba. I have been coming to Aruba for the past 15 years and have dined at many restaurants and then someone told me about Chalet Suisse. The service from the minute you walk in the door until you leave is outstanding, especially our servers, Humphrey and Pedro. The serive is only surpassed by the delicious meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends heading to Aruba. Don't deprive yourself of this dining experience.

Beautiful setting with the sunset on the water outside the windows. Restaraunt was in keeping with the German theme. Staff was attentive if a bit overly formal (would it kill you to crack a smile). Had the Wiener schnitzel, Spatzel and apple strudle for dessert. The Spatzel was a little tough and not the traditional recipe but everything else was delicious.

We have been traveling to Aruba for 20 years and always eat at The Chalet at least 3 times each visit. Benny the host is great. Rudy the owner is so friendly and welcoming. Humphrey and Judith ,waiters, are top notch professionals. The Food is amazing and I have eaten all over the world.
Absolutely save room for the Chocolate Fondue. You must have the Chateau Briand for two is to die for!! It is a very nice atmosphere and they will make anything in a special manner if you ask.
You will miss the best dining experience on the Island if you do not try it. It is not cheap, but not over priced for what you get.
