Chef's tables is a restaurant with the warm inviting atmosphere of the caribbean.Beautiful paintings, self made tables with sand and shells incrusted on the table top, fishes hanging from the ceiling, an old door and window frames from old cunucu houses and of course lots of driftwood and seashells. We chose to have an open kitchen so interested guests can see the meals being prepaired and we can interact with our guests "which gives us that very special feeling". So you will leave this place with a big smile on your face.

Love the osso buco at this restaurant. Sitting in the courtyard makes it perfect. This year four dinners of osso buco has to hold me till 2013 but that will not be easy. My husband enjoys a variety of meals here.

Visted Chef's Table on this most recent trip to Aruba based on some of the reviews we saw online. We were not disappointed with this visit. Chef's table features an open view to the kitchen so interested guests can see the meals being prepaired and the chef can interact with the guests. After ordering our dinner, we made a bee-line to the window.
The chef actually enjoys it when customers take an interest in the food preperation. After standing at the window a while, we were invited into the kitchen to talk to the chef as he prepared our meal. The chef has a great personality and took some questions from me about the dish and even about which dish is his favorite.

On this evening we tried the mahi mahi and grilled duch breast. It is hard to say no to the desserts as they are served tapas style in mini servings. Enjoyed the food and the experience.

Maybe we hit it on a bad night but the food was just OK. The service was lacking compared to all the other restaurants we tried during our stay. Our drinks actually showed up after our food and good luck getting another if we wanted to. We tried the beef carpaccio and the fish soup for appetizers. Both were good. I had the Grouper Cheese which lacked flavor and my wife had the fish and chips which seemed overcooked. It took a while to get our waitresses attention just to get the check. This place is beautiful inside. Hopefully they keep up with the competition

Last year (2010)we met a woman who is a seasoned Aruba visitor. She gave us the names of restaurants that we should try during our next visit. So during our trip this year we added four new restaurants one of which was the Chef's Tables. It turned out to be "the best one" of all. We can't wait to return there in 2012. We dined in the lovely open-air courtyard. The service was efficient and friendly. The grouper was the best on the island. We really enjoyed the dessert samplers!

It was bound to happen! Food Critic and spouse disagreed about our experience at CHEF'S TABLES this year. The bone of contention was the limited nature of the overall menu. Nonetheless the food that was ordered was prepared well and the service finally has matured into a group that is a bit less aloof than in the past and that was nice to see. The menu issue was reinforced when we listened to others trying to place their orders a well. In particular request for lamb dishes were rebuffed with the explanation that lamb was was not in good supply and was overly expensive - well DUH, if one wants lamb and is willing to pay for it then why should it be an issue! Other restaurants ahd lamb in abundance and at reasonable prices (even CHALET SUISSE was serving lamb at a reasonable price). So, we are not sure what that means for a pplace like Chef's Tables and are a bit concerned. We will return next year to see how things are going, but we have a strange feeling in our gut about what we might find though we remain hopeful that this year's experience was an exception ro the product of a bad night. Still and all it was an enjoyable experience andwe wish the place the best.

The grouper with brie melted in our mouths and was exceptionally tasty. Probably the best we have ever had anywhere in the Caribbean.

The portions were very large so we were unable to try their deserts. Moderately priced

We dined at this wonderful restaurant 5 times during our visit. Although the
Osso Bucco is not presently on the menu they are always very gracious and
prepare it for me. My husband usually
has some type of seafood. This is one
of our favorite restaurants. The friends we took with us also enjoyed
their dinners.

After telling my friends what a great place the Chef's Table was...we were all quite unpleasantly surprised.
Party of 11...the sever was exceptionally rude. Told guests that they talked too much.
The food presentation was great...however, the meals were over cooked. One individual had three different meats, and complained they were all overdone, and all tasted identically.
The environment was great, but the food and service was horrible.
We will never go back again...save your money. There are many fine restaurants in Aruba...this is just not one of them.

Consistently excellent! We were able to eat at Chef's Tables in April and July. We wanted to eat here in September but the restaurant was closed for vacation. Everything about Chef's Tables is a rewarding experience. The menu is innovative and the chef will create old favorites that may have been taken off the menu and also offers new things to try with each visit. The special seafood salad we had in July was out of this world. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had dinner here on 08/02/2010. We sat in the outside courtyard. A little hot but what do you want you are in ARUBA!!!! They provided a personal fan for each table. The service was good and the setting was nice. My wife had the filet tips dish that was outstanding! I ordered the seared tuna. The tuna was good but what made it very good was the sauce they severed with it for dipping. This is one of my wife’s favorite places. The deserts are VERY cool. They come in a shot glass. This is very nice for people like us who rarely order dessert. If I can remember correctly they had like 8 different kinds and we ordered 5. They all were right around $2 US dollars. If you take a cab to this place they will know as they will tell you they will call you a cab for you and take off $10 dollars off your bill (NICE). Prices are very reasonable. We will certainly be back.

We had dinner on July 11th and had a wonderful experience in this "hidden" gem of a restaurant. We sat in the courtyard and were very comfortable. The service and ambience was excellent and we enjoyed our conversation with our server Heidi. We both ate seafood dishes which were very fresh and certainly large enough. The desserts are served tapas style in shot glasses so we each ordered 2 and were able to sample 4 different desserts.

This restaurant was suggested to us by our taxi driver. We had the best time! The food was amazing. Some of the best we've had in all the years coming to Aruba. And you must save room for dessert! Served in double shot glasses (tapas style) so you can have a little of everything! Don't miss this restaurant....

Wonderful place - love sitting in the open-air patio in the back (great ambiance.)

Husband had the Beef Tips Teriyaki over angel hair pasta and I had the "Pair of Tuna". We also split a goat cheese salad and had a couple of the dessert tapas. Everything was great and we could not have asked for a better dining experience.

We went to Chef's table and were seated on the patio which was very nice. We started with he goat cheese salad which was very good and the soup of the day which was potatoe leek with smoked salmon. We had the white asparagus with grouper which was excellent. Then we ordered the Fillet of Grouper with herbs, almonds and tomato. The topping was over powering and took away from the main part of the dish which was the grouper. Once I took the topping off I was able to taste the grouper which was good. Service was Ok, I had to pour my wine most of the dinner. Would recommend this restaurant but not the dish I had. They also give you a ten dollar credit on your bill if you are taking a taxi.

Excellent meals, service and ambience (although a bit off high rise hotel area where I stay). I had abeef carpaccio with blue cheese and chef's fish trio (tuna, bass and two giant shrimps on a mush potato base with vegetables and creamy sauce). Delicious! All that with a glass of Californian Riesling and a cocktail costs less that $60, and the restaurant even took off $10 to compensate for a taxi ride (I did not ask, they offered). Highly recommended.

My husband ordered two of the tapas deserts but only got one so I can't really comment on that. Can't say I'll be going back... too many restaurants where they actually care if you are there or not.

CHEF'S TABLE continues the old tradition of "good food" that MARANDI'S used to have and is well worth visiting. Good food, good service and reasonable prices make it a stable and consistent contender in the upscale ARUBA restaurant arena. They also go out of their way to accomodate you in any number of ways including meal recommendations (which usually are right on) and food preparations (remember a dish you had there that is not now on the menu and they will most likely still make it for you). Service still tends to be a little aloof and too punctual for the place - but they are beginning to mellow and that is nice to see. Go for the food - it is well worth it.
