Great location bad food
We tried the restaurant because the location was great
and the reviews were Good. Guess it takes all kinds of
people to make our world. Beach barbaque was less then
good. The food was either over cooked or under. And the quality was poor. The shame is they have a weekley turnover
of new unaware visitors or they would be out os business!
The atmosphere was great but the food was better. The fish was so fresh and the preparation was excellent. The side dishes were just as good as the main course. This is a hidden little gem
We have been to this restaurant several times over the last few years and generally enjoy the food. This time, the quantity was a little less, the quality a little less and they still have their 15% service charge which is irritating. Normally we understood the service charge is for the servers, but in this case, according to the manager, it is simply an additional charge for the restaurant and the servers get nothing from this. The guests are expected to tip on top of this charge in order to reward the service staff.
We object to this policy and as a result will probably not return. Once you add the 15% on top of the listed prices, it is no longer comparable with other restaurants in the area.
After dining around the island for several days, we received a great tip about Hadicurari Restaurant. It is renown for its romantic sunset meals. As we made our way to the beachside restaurant, we were greeted a very charming maitre'd "Carlos." Carlos gave us a great Italian welcome and promptly seated us.
The staff was extremely accommodating and inviting. The food was exquisite and was easily the best food that we had during our entire 7-day stay. We quickly made another reservation to return closer to the end of our trip so that we could revel in its delights again.
The wine presentation was very formal but not intimidating.
Our second trip featured the seafood buffet. The barracuda and mahi-mahi was absolutely phenomenal. Charming. Pleasant. Romantic. This is Hadicurari in a nutshell.
My wife and I plan to return to Aruba again. But this time, we will be at Hadicurari as soon as we leave our hotel.
Extremely friendly staff and great food, right on the beach too!
The host is very friendly and funny and so are all the waiters.
We have dined at this restaurant since our first trip to Aruba in 2007, and return because of the plesant experience. Tonight we had our meal around sunset, and took advantage of a package they offer, a complete meal for two that includes appetizer, entree, and dessert. The Mahi Mahi was outstanding. The location right on the beach makes the meal even more enjoyable.
We had our last dinner at this beautiful restaurant at the beach. This restaurant is located straight at the pier of the local fisherman. We enjoyed homemade crabcakes and tuna tataki as appetizers. As entree we had the fresh cath, whole red snapper! The eyes of the snapper showed us it was really fresh. Because of its strong taste you nearly didn't need any sauce. Besides the fantastic food and the wonderful service we we where surprised by the awesome wine list. The presentation in a wooden wine box was very special. We would like to thank the chef and the excellent waitress for a amazing night. We look forward to visit this restaurant next year!
Wonderfull place at the beach! great food with good service
My partner and I ate here two weeks ago and it exceeded our expectations! The food was great and the service was fantastic. Our waitress Othelia was very kind and helpfull. We sat outside with a gorgeous view! We would definitely return here.
I ate here in June for lunch twice while staying at the Marriott. I have read the other reviews & it seems to be getting a bad wrap. The food was great. We had salads and fresh grouper sandwiches. It did take some time for the food- but it was served hot & they kept the Brite Beers coming while we waited. We only had time for 2 drinks which was perfect --its island time.
This was a huge disappointment from our prior visit 2 years ago. We booked an evening with such high expectations and found the staff rude and inappropriate. Keep away>> I wouldn't dine there if i was offered a free meal. How can a restaurant fail so miserably in just 2 short years.
Shame on the management!
We love to fine dine. We were offered a special with an appetizer, entree and a dessert. The waitress had a very thick accent and we could not understand her. She brought both my hsuband and I a salad to start and we put our dressing, salt and pepper on it and just as I was about to take my forst bit, she came running up and took my salad out from under me and said that salad did not come with the meal. The wine was terrible.. Food was ok but, we were very disappointed.
We were truly disappointed with this restaurant that has such great potential. First they kept us waiting for a table 20 minutes with many empty tables available and we had a reservation. The staff doesn't have a clue how to handle patrons. took about another 30 minutes to take our order. we did get water! Finally took our order and brought the wrong food to the table. Then after another long wait brought the food incorrectly prepared. My brother in law ordered the soup which he got, but couldn't get a spoon to eat it with. didn't risk desert. The actual food when it finally came was good, but the ineptitude of the wait staff makes for a stressful meal. Sort of like an Aruban Fawlty Towers. if you're on blood pressure medication, don't go.
We finally ate here for lunch after a week at the Marriott Surf Club. It was a great find; so the four of us went again the next day. It's almost all fish, but it was teriffic. We had the calamari, fried the first day and sauteed, the second. Both were great. We had the spicy shrimp salad twice, the 3 sandwiches (crab, tuna and salmon on sourdough), fish soup and two different fish dishes. The prices are consistent with anyplace on the strip (and better than most). Service was really solid. I always ask the wait staff for recommendations and they were spot on both days. All of this and post card views.
Hadicurari was our oasis in the desert. My wife and I had just done a great deal of walking and Hadicurari was all the way at the end of our trip. It was a great place to rest our feet and enjoy some good food. We started with some drinks that were the great mix of flavor and just enough alcohol. We each ordered a salad. I had the calamari salad which was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My wife had the spicy shrimp salad which came with very meat shrimp and nice sauce that had a hint of heat but good sweetness to cool it down. Definitely looking forward to checking this place out again.
This was by FAR the worst restaurant I ever visited in Aruba... and we have been coming here for 6 years. I still ask myself why we didn't leave as soon as the waiter began to speak. The service was awful... the waiter actually told us we had a minute to order if we wanted a special that ended at 9. It took 1 hour to get our apps, which ranged from ok to bad. Another hour later we got dinner and 2 people of our party of 6 ate. The other dinners were either, awful, cold, and/or not prepared as described. If you are looking for a stressful dinner with rude staff and iffy food, this is the place for you.
Just returned from a 10 day stay in Aruba on 11-9 with friends. Stayed at the Surf Club next door. Hadicurari was one of the first restaurants we ate at. They had a $55 special - appetizer, entree and dessert. Read a lot of the reviews about service and I would have to generally agree - it took a long time to get our meal. But I have to say that the waiter was always very attentive and everyone had to wait for service - it's not like we were the only ones. Not an excuse but reality. They did buy us a drink for our troubles and frankly we weren't in a hurry. As an aside, there was a drunk girl at another table so that was entertaining in and of itself!
Once we did get our meals it was worth the wait. The food was great as was the dessert. I would recommend Hadicurari if you don't mind waiting for a great meal.
We ate here on the first night of our seventh Aruban vacation. The location can't be beat and the service was good. However, the portions were ridiculously small for the prices that they ask for their food! I don't need huge portions to have a good meal, on the contrary, but this was literally three bites of fish! With so many good restaurants to choose from, we won't likely return here.
Hadicurari is conveniently located to the Marriott Surf Club. It is alternative to resort food and offers beach front dining. If you are a value seeker, the prices are at a premium. I think that is why there are varied opinion on this restaurant. Sundays are quite lively as Moomba Beach Restaurant next door is a party spot and the music flows over into the restaurant.
I ordered the fish trio (grouper, mahi, and snapper), all lightly fried with a dipping sauce. Very tasty. My wife ordered the calamari which was also good. The restaurant does have Mon. and Wed. Buffet specials for $30 if you are seeking a deal. However, a la cart is at resort pricing. Overall, the restaurant is worth a try. Just keep the above in mind.
Bring a good book if your dining at Hadicurari to help pass the time. Took hours for my family to be fed once we were seated. Water glass sat empty and waiter came by to check on us only when I waived him down. My son began to fall asleep at the table and my wife had to excuse herself to take him to bed. Clearly understaffed and really took the wind out of our sails. Hadicurari is priced like a full service restaurant but don't be fooled.
Hadicurari is right on the beach and convienent to the hotels. I think of going here for a simpler night out. The prices are a bit higher than I expected for a more casual restaurant.
They do offer a $30 special which includes entree and dessert and a glass of wine.
The food is good and the environment more casual.
Excellent place to be!!
This restaraunt is beautiful - - overlooking Manchebo beach.
The food, however, was a little bit on the pricey side. We found the food to be decent, but there are other restaraunts in Aruba that are even better.
I think what annoyed me most was the meal was small in portion for the price.
I think you can never guarantee good service anywhere...BUT the experience my family and I had at this restaurant was perfect! There were 12 of us with 4 kids. They were SO nice to us and very accomodating with the children. The waitress was fantastic and we ate at sunset which was breathtaking with the ambiance.
The food was what we were most impressed with. I had the most incredible lobster ever, not chewy just perfect meat. My brother's Mahi Mahi was outstanding and my other brother's tuna steak was equally delicious. As was the thai soup he had as an appetizer.
So I really think you should take reviews with a grain of salt because your experience might be the complete oppostie of someone elses. Especially since we all felt it was a better meal than El Gouchos, Screaming Equal, and of course the horrible Iguana Joe's.
We thought this place was terrible. I had tuna which tasted like it came out of a can. Not fresh at all. Expensive and not worth any of it.
