A must for us every visit to Aruba!! With my 3 Grandma Joe's lemonades, her 3 wines, an order of coconut shrimp, a rack of ribs...... life is good!! We have never been disappointed here.

We recently returned from a glorious week in Aruba and we ate at Iguana Joe's 3 times. We love this place. At various meals we had salads, ribs, jerk chicken sandwiches, burgers, wraps and dessert. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The staff is friendly and courteous and always makes us feel welcome. This trip we brought along my 80 year old mother and she loved every meal that she had. If you want a great place for casual meals that won't break the bank, Iguana Joe's is the place to go for either lunch, dinner or just a snack. Make sure you try their cocktails - very good and strong too !!! A special shout out to Alberto and Johnnie for their great service to my entire famliy.

IQUANA JOE'S continues to be a tourist trap but it also provides some unique food which is tasty and enjoyable. It is a great lunch spot and its location provides a great view of downtown Oranjestad even though it is quite crowded, noisy and busy.We do not regard the place as a dinner or fine dining option but it really is a unique lunch experience that we would encourage everyone to try.

I was in Aruba for a week with my boyfriend and we tried Iguana Joe's on a whim. Most other nights we had set plans and had made dinner reservations, but this night we decided to just walk around the Royal Plaza Mall to find a casual dinner spot. Given that I have a gluten allergy, dining out can be very difficult if the restaurant is not aware of how to accommodate this. I usually call restaurants ahead of time or check reviews to be safe, but this night I took a chance with Iguana Joe's and just asked to speak with the manager when I arrived.

I'm not positive if the person I was pointed to was the owner or manager (he had to be one of the two), but he was the one who cooked/prepared my food. After explaining my serious allergy to him, he walked through items on the menu he could prepare "gluten-free" and how he would tailor them to make sure they would be safe for me to eat. He was extremely friendly, helpful and patient, and assured me he would take every precaution to make sure my food was prepared safely to avoid cross-contamination. I ended up having a delicious spicy shrimp dish with french fries (prepared specially in a separate pan) and a side salad, all of which were delicious! The chef/manager brought out the food to the table himself- again, such great specialized service. I was so thankful that we even took a picture with him when we finished.

My boyfriend, who does not have any food allergies, had the shrimp tacos and really enjoyed his meal as well. We both had some margaritas which were great as well.

All in all, I was extremely impressed with the food, service, and this restaurant's attention and helpfulness for someone with a serious food allergy. I would highly reccommend Iguana Joe's and will definitely return if I ever go back to Aruba!

We were in Aruba for 1 week in March and ate at Iguana Joe's twice for dinner and once for lunch and all our meals were great. My husband and I love this place. Great casual food at really good prices that will not "break the bank". The ribs are the best I have ever had. Great burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The staff is so friendly and the bartenders, Dino and Alberto, make the best drinks on the island and really strong too !!! Try this place, you will love it.

IQUANA JOE'S is a cross between a tourist rap and unique ARUBAN dining experience. For what it does, it does it well. It is not sophisticated dining but it is good dining and its location, though providing a great viewing location of the port, also is quite crowded. We enjoy the place but it definitely is not place to go to for dinner.

We ate here two times during our vacation two weeks ago. The first time I had the grilled shrimp appetizer-the dipping sauce was yummy! SO have the wings with sauce on the side-bar b que I think-he said it was great.

The 2nd time I had the shrimp blt roll up-it was very good! I had rice as my side. SO had the ribs and said they were good too.

Such a great place for people watching-we got seats on the railing both times.

Also, I left a bag with Aruba Aloe products there the 1st day and we stopped in the 2 days later and someone had turned my bag in-how nice was THAT??

Great food ! We ate at Iguana Joe's 4 times during our recent 2 week stay in Aruba and every meal was wonderful. Try the ribs, burgers, wraps, salads and sandwiches....you can't go wrong. The Jamican jerk chicken sandwich is the best around ! It's a great place for lunch or dinner and it's a great value for the money. The wait staff is so friendly and the bartenders, Dino and Alberto, make the best drinks on the island. If you want a great casual meal that won't break the bank, make sure you go to Iguana Joe's. We even took my 79 year old mother to Iguana Joe's and she loved it just as much as we did.

I've read a lot of these reviews and haven't seen anyone mention the highlight of Iguana Joes - the Keshi Jena!! I have been going to Aruba every year for 20 years and have tried the Aruban dish at many local restaurants where it is always delicious, but Iguana Joe's is the best ever! We go there at least once every year and ALWAYS order the Keshi Jena and recommend it to anyone we know who is going to Aruba. If you eat at Iguana Joes, you are really missing out if you don't order it! Can't wait to get there in July to eat it again!

We eat lunch at Iguana Joe's every time we go to Aruba. The location is very central and the view (they are on the second floor in the heart of downtown) is nice. Te food is a notch above typical bar food - I'd consider it to be high end bar setting. It's a perfect place to eat lunch if you're shopping downtown.

Iguana Joes is the great burger/sandwich and drinks place to visit in Aruba. The drink menu is large with a great warning that some are going to be quite strong, and yes they are. The BBQ Burger was cooked perfectly with a nice soft bun and sweet BBQ sauce. My wife had the chicken quesadillas which she said were very good and she really liked that the sour cream and salsa were served in little fried dough cups. The only negative was that service was hit or miss. We went twice and one day our server was very fun, friendly, and checked up on us a few times. The other day we were talked to maybe twice. If you're downtown in Oranjestad and want a great lunch and fun drink, this is the spot.

Great view of LG Smith Blvd so we stopped for drinks. Open air porch was nice.

Ordered a Golden Margarita on the rocks with salt. Menu said it was made with "fresh lime juice." The drink arrived with sugar on the rim and a glowing green liquid inside the glass. It was overly sweet and did not taste like any fresh lime juice was in it.

The server was not overly friendly but he did offer to replace the drink. Sadly, the "Mojito" was worse.

Iguana Joe's is a fun place to visit and the food is certainly good. Portions are large, ribs are excellent. The Sangria is also worth trying - it is delicious. We were somewhat hesitant about returning to Iguana Joe's because of a bad experience 5 years previous (our credit card was charged ~ $100 nearly 1 year after our visit...luckily AmEx reversed the charge) but we did enjoy our dinner this time. If you are looking for a less expensive meal that is still tasty, try Iguana Joe's!

I gotta say in my 2 years of coming here it's remained as good as it was last year. The portions are so big we've learned to just have one entree and an appetizer!
Great selection of drinks and as far as service goes I was pleasantly surprised that our waitress recognized me from last year. Little things like that are really nice considering how many people go in there on a day to day basis. When I go back I may have to look her up and offer her a drink on me!

You guys definitely have to work on your presentation of the dishes, looking at the plates does not invite for dinner at all. Think back the way you presented the Burrito five years ago and you do it today, you guys went 10 steps back instead forward! Service is only okay, but not good enough in these days, seems to be very uninterested in their job, unfortunately!

Our favorite "casual" place in Aruba. If you are looking for a great sandwich, burger or just a lite meal, do not miss Iguana Joes. The food is always good - you must try their ribs - best on the island. The drinks are great too. They have the best bartender in Dino. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Make sure to try the Oreo Cookie dessert - heaven !
