We had made reservations but they did not have them on the books, we had laser lights shining on us as a light show was being set up, very uncomfortable. The food was very poor, my crepes were hard and the sauce was flaky as if it been under a very hot lamp, my husband's risotto was dry and more like a paella, the lasagne was overcooked and so was the veal. Not what we expected at all, very disappointing. For the prices charged we were totally ripped off, better food in a cafeteria.

We heard to go for a drink but not the food,,so we did,,we observed great looking dishes comming out so we returned two nights later with friends...The food was very good. We had pasta dishes and veal. Presentation was great and wonderful service...The view speaks for itself. We suggest this as a must place to go...We are 6 time Aruba guests from North Jersey and all of us are Italian and felt the food was very good.

The view from here is amazing and should not be missed. And unlike some places with great views, the food was also very good. We ate on the balcony and the entire evening was wonderful. The appetizer and dessert were the best. The chicken in my pasta dish was a little dry, but still very good. The service was dependable but not hovering. We will go back.

My visit to 'La Trattoria: El Faro Blanco' was very pleasant. We loved it.

My family liked the Calamari Fritti. I liked the eggplant and mozzarella cheese topped with Marinara sauce appetizer (Tortino Di Melanzane). I enjoy the variety and choices.

Their dish 'Costolette Di Angello Al Forno o Alla Griglia'
(Baby rack of lamb grilled or baked with rosemary, garlic, olive oil and black pepper) was the highlight of the meal, my family loved it. Also their 'Linguine Della Scogliera
Linguine' (with assorted Seafood such as baby octopus, squid, clams, mussels, baby shrimps, jumbo shrimp, basil, garlic, and our unique pomodoro sauce) was excellent. Too huge to finish ;). Their 'Filetto Di Spigola Gratinata Con Frutti Di Mare'
(Sea bass fillet gratin with mixed seafood topped with Parmesan cheese) was also wonderful.

La Trattoria: El Faro Blanco their service was terrific. Nice gentle people, nice view and very romantic.

Thank you for a nice evening and good service :).

El Faro Blanco is a wonderful restaurant on a unique location! Make sure to sit outside and enjoy the view in the sunset! The food is delious, the service is great. A perfect spot to have a great meal, feel welcome and spoiled. Our Children (10 and 12 years old) had a great time and loved the food. A place worth having a dinner!

The view of the island at sunset is spectacular. The resteraunt decor was beautiful. I found the food very good but overpriced for the portion size. They charged us a hidden fee for splitting meals. My biggest problem here was the waiter. His attitude was disgruntled, he was slow and kept disappearing. I would go again but only for drinks.

In July 2011 we celebrated our daughter's Wedding Reception at La Trattoria: El Faro Blanco. It was just wonderful and an unforgetable experience. All of our guests were totally amazed at the excellent food and the wonderful service. With almost 80 people in attendance, it was an experience to be remembered by all. Arthur attended to evey detail and made the experience more than outstanding!

We had dinner at El Faro Blanco at Sunset and everything was great. We thought the restaurant has the best view on the island and we strongly recommend it for romantic evenings and family events. We ordered the Ossobucco, the Veal Chop and Bruschettas and they were all very good. Thanks to El Faro Blanco for this special evening.

The food and atmosphere at El Faro were amazing. The sunset was beautiful and the view of the island after the sun went down was equally as good. Tasty calamari and a meaty veal chop hit the spot. Wine list good for Aruba.

Once, again, we are beat to our review by the comments of DONNA whcih we agree with. This restaurant is little more than a tourist trap with a great view. The food is mediocre and overepriced and the service is poor - but the view is spectacular. The place simply is not worth going to and we will not be returning.

I was in Aruba last week and out of the seven restaurants we had dinner in I would have to say this was the biggest disappointment as far as the food went. There were four in our party and we all had different appetizers and pasta dishes all of which lacked flavor. The service was SO slow we were there for hours, the only redeeming quality the place had was the gorgeous view which really has nothing to do with the restaurant. I would skip the dinner and just take a ride to the light house where you will get the same view!!

A truly magical experience for both of us! We'd made reservations for sunset before we'd read some of the more critical review posted so we were nervous about eating here, but went anyway. We are so glad that we did! The food was excellent - the Osso bucco was perfect and the fettucine Alfredo very good. The service was perfect - they didn't hover or check on us over frequently, they just let us linger over a meal and a night that will be a cherished memory forever. Plus Deb introduced Mark to Grappa for the first time!

Although we have been to Aruba many times this was our first visit to Faro Blanco. We both agreed we would go back for drinks at sunset time, but not bother with dining there. We arrived at 5:30 for our 5:30 reservations. Although the restaurant was almost empty we were asked to go the the bar to wait. While there my husband ordered a cocktail and I had a glass of water, saying I would wait till we were seated to have a drink. Next people that came in asked what was on special for happy hour and were told cocktails and wine. After 15 to 20 min we were seated. I asked our waiter if all the house wines were on the happy hour. I was told happy hour only applied to the bar--not the dining room. So I paid $9 for the same glass of wine I could've had in the bar for $4.50. I do wish the bartender had mentioned that when I said I would wait on a drink. Dinner was fine but nothing special. We shared an appetizer and had no dessert. I had chicken with tortellini and my husband had chicken parmesan. I had 2 glasses of wine and my husband had 2 cocktails and our total bill was $108. We should've just had drinks in the bar and gone out to the patio for sunset. Next time we will know better.

I agree with another reviewer - go for lunch, get an appitizer and water, get your pictures and leave.
We went for dinner and sat on the covered porch. Ants & flys everywhere. Food was not worth the price, lasagna was mushy (overcooked), chicken parm was small. Waitstaff not friendly until it was time to tip.
We won't be going back.

We found the food wonderful, enjoyed by all.

The service was excellent.

The view is spectacular! This was our first time to the restaurant and we had an enjoyable lunch there. We were hoping to return for dinner, but didn't make it - that will be something to do next year. The dinner menu is fabulous and, if it is done as well as lunch, then this place would clearly join Hostaria Da Vittorio as one of the better Italian dining places in ARUBA. In our opinion, the view in incomparable - there is nothing like it on the Island - even if you don't want to eat, go out some evening for a spectacular sunset.

Overall the food and service was disapointing and over priced. The only value he is the view which is breath taking, so I would recommend that you arrive for a cocktail and have dinner somewhere else.
