Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

What a shame when a restaurant is built up with reviews and when you decide to visit it is nothing that you expected. Food was a disappointment and service was fair at best. maitre d and servers are rude and generally don't seem to care about their customers. Leads me to believe that all these reviews are false, obviously posted by the restaurant to bolster themselves.
Many other great restaurants to choose from on the island. I advise stay away from Madame Janette.

First truly special meal we had on the island. While the atmosphere was a bit boisterous (energized?) and loud, and the waitresses harried, the food and wine list more than made up for it.

Madame Janette was recommended to us by our concierge so they made a reservation for us for Saturday, November 21st. I have to say that even though we had heard such wonderful things about the restaurant (throughout the week when we asked around) we were still blown away and loved every minute of it. The atmosphere is fantastic and everyone that works there were so pleasant and accommodating and I don’t even know where to begin with the food it was all fantastic from the appetizers down to the dessert (pork appetizer was beyond works so delicious). Our server was Natasha and she was very personable and attentive but not overly attentive which was great. I will be sure to let others know that they need to visit your restaurant on their next trip to Aruba! We go to many restaurants here in Boston but Madame Janette's definitely stood out for the two of us.

Oh boy what a restaurant!!!!!!
Last week was the BEST week of all my holliday's ever!
Okay, warm wheather, very good hotel(Renaissance Aruba Resort Marina) but the best of all was the dining in MJ.
What a atmosphere, very good and friendly service and the food phenomenal.
Normal going for diner every day to another restaurant when I am on a holliday, but after the first time there I am addicted to MJ.
Eat there five time's in one week.
When you are hungry the portions are huge, but I like small size portions and ordered half size after the first time.
Eat every day other dishes and they where all great.
I decided that I must come back in February for the rest of the menu.
To the people that give this restaurant bad Review: PLEASE don't come theire any more, because it's so busy theire and I never make reservations, that on one of the busiest day's I must wait one hour for a table.
For me it's not a problem because they have a nice bar with great wine's and cocktail's.
I never see a wine menu with so many chardonay's on it, and I had five of them.
And each waiter treated the bottles like they had extra training to open the botteles and pour it in the glass perfect.
So I see you back Madame Janette!

This place was recommended to us by friends on the plane ride over. When we got there we ordered wine and an appetizer to start. The wine was cooked!(i.e. it tasted bad). They brought us a new bottle without any apology or explanation of why the first one was bad. The second one was OK. It was basically low grade wine they charged $40 for. He was very defensive, unapologetic, and borderline rude, like he was doing us a favor by giving us a second bottle. The couple next to our table came after us and had finished their entrees and asked for the check by the time we even got our salad. They hadn't even eaten their entrees and seemed unsatisfied. We bailed and had a very nice dinner at our hotel :) We do NOT recommend this place..GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! lots of good restaurants in Aruba and cheaper too!
