Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

The best meal we had in Aruba! Not only was the food fabulous and made with the freshest ingredients but the atmosphere was delightful, the entertainment was great and our waitress couldn't have been more attentive. We absolutely loved everything about it.

I've been to Aruba 4 times and every time I go back I have to go to Madam Janette's. This is by far my favorite restaurant on the island. My friend and I ate there our last night and of course it was excellent. I had the lobster ravioli for appetizer and my friend had the crab cakes. Both were excellent. For our main course, we both had the surf and turf and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert I had the ice cream with blueberrys. We always sit outside in the garden where they have a singer. The atomosphere is amazing with lots of lights outside, the food is excellent and the service is great. If you're in Aruba, I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

We ate at M.J.'s on 9/28. There were 3 in our party. We were seated on the deck portion, just in front of the stage. A 2 pc (man & woman)duo entertained us, good background music. The waitress was a bit impatient with us as we didn't know exactly what beverage we would start with and seemed annoyed when we suggested we needed another minute. We ordered a cesear salad app and it was plenty for the 3 of us to share. 2 of us got the surf and turf, which was filet mignon, lobster and shrimp. Very tasty but both of our beef were over cooked to medium-well, instead of medium-rare. I'm positive that if we sent it back they would have replaced it, but then waiting around to eat while our 3rd was enjoying his veal chop (which he said was very good) didn't appeal to us. With our surf & turf we got the potato au gratin --- very, very good! The best I ever had. They also gave some creamed spinach, very good. They did give alot of food and we were too full for desert, but we did have flavored coffeess.. Next time I'm in Aruba I will definatley give Madames another shot!

We visited Madame Janette's during the week of August 2-9, 2007. This resturant is always a winner. The food is very good. The portions are big and sharable. The service was very good. This is the fourth time I have eaten in this restuarant. This resturant is on my must do list when I visit Aruba.

Second year in Aruba, but first visit to M.J.'s. The blogs were right. Absolutely top notch in every regard. The Renaissance made reservations for us early on Saturday night. This is about as high a series of scores that I will give anyplace.
