Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

A great place to dine. DH had Mahi Mahi and it was cooked great! I had the pork cordon bleu and it was quite tasty. The au gratin potato side dish was outstanding! There is quite a bit of sauce used in their dishes, so if you are looking to watch your waistline--watch out. Our server was very attentive and the environment was quite nice.

Everyone had told us that this was a must stop while on the island. They were absolutely correct. We saved it for our last night and it was absolutely incredible. Although off the beaten path (take a cab), once inside, u are in for the most fantastic dining in the caribbean! The waiters are very friendly and helpful, the food is to die for, and although jammed on any night the atmosphere is pure Aruban! The salad would feed 10 and the waiters let u know that up front. The mahi-mahi was prepared to perfection as was everything we had! Without going into tons of detail, let me just say that in all our world travels, there has been nigh a restaurant with meals, service, and an atmosphere that captures its home anywhere close to what Madame Janette's does! This restaurant has been at or near the top for years, and has absolutely earned their reputation! A definate MUST visit for anyone traveling to Aruba! Don't miss it!!

We have been to Aruba 3 times in the last year and we always make sure to get to Madame Janette's at least once.

We were recently in Aruba in late July, 2007. My wife and I eloped and had dinner at MJ's that evening. Everything was absolutely perfect and our host for the evening (Chris) was incredibly attentive to all of our needs. The food and atmosphere are second to none on the island. We enjoyed every bite of our dinner and were serenaded by the gentle music being played by the local musician that night. Our host made us feel like we were the only ones in the entire restaurant, which is a feat given its always filled.

Have been to the island for six years and this was our first time going for dinner, and it was awesome. Food was excellent and served by a professional staff and with awesome presentation. Could not believe the bill for what we got would have been doubled if in the USA. If you visit the island make sure you visit this rest. or it would be your loss not theirs. Bon Bini

This was my first time at Madame Janette's and it was wonderful. We had heard about this place as being one of the best, and it was! The live music is beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect. The food is great and the presentation is unbeatable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to Aruba...especially for a final night on the island.

We were back to Madame Janette's for our sixth time in six years on 18 July. Again, the food was wonderful, the service excellent and the atmosphere, definitely Caribbean! We started with the lobster ravioli which was wonderful. The almond grouper was to die for as were the pork tenderloins. The salad my wife order was enormous and fresh. The mouse was a wonderful ending to a great meal. I've read several review about the poor service but have never experienced this in our six visits. Highly recommend visiting MJs!

The atmosphere at Madame Janette's was very nice. It is outdoors, but we went on a cool night. I ordered the almond grouper in the creamy spinach sauce and it was excellent. It was my first meal there and I will be back.

My husband and I own time share in Aruba and have been coming to the Island for many years. We ate at MJ"s our first nite here. The food was very good, portions were huge and the decor is one of casual elegance. We were here in the middle of July and the place was so hot my husband had to walk outside to keep from becoming physically sick! We complained to the waitress but there was really nothing she could do. The place is outdoors and not very well ventilated. I would recommend MJ"s for the food but make sure you request a table near a doorway.
