Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

Absolutely wonderful! Our visit on June 23, 2004 began with the puff pastry with forest mushroom appetizer and potato leek soup. Entrees of roasted duck breast, Golden Snapper, and Tournedos a la Ramon were all expertly prepared. The Mama Jamaica desert was the best! Be careful, the portions are huge.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. The portions are huge! We didn't have our kids with us, but others did - and they seemed quite happy. I didn't notice a children's menu, but they may have had one. Try the grouper! Fantastic!!!

The food at Madame J's is undoubtedly the best on the island. The fish and shrimp are just awesome. However, we found the restaurant to be so hot because of its open air atmosphere that several in our party were overcome by the heat and got sick. Unfortunately, I doubt if we'll go back.

We skipped going here last year and were looking forward to it this year. We were seated on the porch where we had a nice view of the backyard and guitar player. Service was incredibly slow although it wasn’t terribly crowded. We both ordered salads, not realizing how huge they would be! I got the caesar and Chris got the mixed salad. Both were excellent. Chris asked to have his leftovers boxed up. I didn’t because I knew it would be pretty wilted the next day. We both ordered the tenderloin. They were overcooked and not as tasty as in previous years. We waited a long time for the waitress to come back to check on us. She offered us new steaks cooked right, but we were too tired and it was too late to wait for new steaks to be made. We simply picked at what we had on our plates. When Chris went to eat his salad the next day, it was obvious that the entire salad was not packed up. He had left a huge amount and there was only a handful of salad in the container. We were very disappointed and probably won’t be back for a couple of years.

An excellent experience with terrific food. Brought family of four and had some specialty dishes, surf and turf, and some seafood. Everything was great. Service was very good and the night we were there, they had an acoustic guitar player/singer who was terrific. Will not dissappoint!

Another place we had been to and made sure we went to this time around. And we are very happy we did. Awesome food, ambience and service. The guitarist playing there was fabulous. We will be going back next year.

Dan and I have been going to Madame Janette since it opened. We always look forward to eating here and when we go to Aruba for two weeks will dine lots. The food is always good, the service always professional and the ambiance is unique. You feel miles away from the USA, at least we do. This year had delicious apple martinis, pork schnitzels, excellent creamed spinach and oh those creamy potatoes. Make reservations. It's always packed.
