Smokey Joe’s offers alfresco dining in a colorful festive atmosphere. "We only serve fresh caught local fish…", says executive chef Jose Lago, "...so don’t expect to find salmon and trout on our menu!". We also feature open-fire rotisserie-grilled chicken, and for the meat lover, our thick-cut tender Argentine grass-fed filet mignon is sure to hit the spot. But our ultimate treat has to be the fingerlicking enjoyment of eating our grilled baby back ribs, truly the "Best Ribs in the CARIBBEAN!".

This a great restaurant for ribs. When you want a break from seafood, etc this restaurant is outstanding. Now I know why its packed every night. Our server really seemed to enjoy what he was doing and was entertaining as well as very precise with our orders. Great place for kids as well as adults. We will definitely be back.

We ate here our first night... very relaxed!!

The food was good, the portions were really big. The ribs were good and the drinks were cold. If you are looking for a romantic dinner, maybe this is not the place, but if you want a fun place that is kid friendly, where you can sit outside and enjoy the evening, and has good food for a good value give Smokey Joe's a try!!

We really enjoyed it!

A great place for a low key, casual dinner.

We chilled out with some great Sangria, then the table shared the Rib Combo and Ribs and Chicken. Everything was very flavorful and fresh, our favorite was the original recipe version.

We sat on the outside edge and enjoyed watching fellow tourists walking along as we all enjoyed yet another wonderful warm evening al fresco.

This was the first place we had dinner and so glad we went there! We both had ribs with the cole slaw. Was glad of the tip to not eat by the inside wall due to heat from the kitchen! We had a nice table and enjoyed our evening there. We will definitely come back here.

Ate here January 4,2011. Had the all you can eat ribs for $24.95. They start you with their sampler platter which consists of 4 half racks of 4 different types. One was spicy but others were excellent. Too much food. Next time will order 3 1/2racks for $21.95. which is plenty. Of course, the fried oreos for dessert are incredible. After nights of expensive dinners, smokey joes is a fun place to go.

We eat here at least for one dinner while in Aruba. SO loves ribs! He got the 1/2 rack of ribs along with cole slaw and said they were great! I had the grilled shrimp and rice and was very happy. Our only complaint was that we were seated near the inside wall and boy was it warm. There had been showers in the area so they were not seating anyone out from under the roof so it was very crowded as well. Another good meal!!!

We have been to AUA 5 times now, and luckily we found this place in year one. We LOVE Smokey Joes, and usually hit it twice when we are there! Original Ribs and top it off with key lime pie, both are the best I've ever had! We crave it!

Our best memories of Aruba, besides the obvious beach/sun combo: Balashi, Amstel Bright, El Gaucho, Pizza Bob's, dushi bagels and Smokey Joe's! Can't wait to get back!

I don't understand why this restaurant is not in the top 10. It is amazing. My husband and I and another couple dined here twice during our stay and both times were not dissapointed. The pulled pork was delicous and very generous. The guys loved the burgers. We tried the ribs the second visit and they were the best ribs we have ever had. Somone complained that they were fatty?? Not true for us at all. They were fall off the bone meaty goodness. This is a very relaxed and fun atmosphere and the service was incredibly fast. Especially for how busy it was. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant go elsewhere but if your looking for good food at a fair price. This is 100% a must!! There is no way we will pass this place up when we go back to Aruba!!

They say they have the best ribs in Aruba and i believe that is true. I went there a few years ago and it was honestly the best i've ever had. The fried oreos are a must try. We are considering going back to Aruba and a main reason is to eat at this restaurant.

Positive: Good atmosphere, great place for ribs and hamburgers, although I think TGIF ribs fall off the bone even more....
Negative: I find it a little too warm both inside the restaurant and on the terrace. Air conditioning could be improved, and tables tend to feel sticky (either from heat or not clean). Staff seem a little indifferent to customers.

Beside the negative stuff, this is a great place to enjoy good Caribbean or American food.

My family of four came to Smokey Joe's base on the reviews we read. This is the only place we had to wait to be seated. We all had the baby back rib samplers. We all liked the original flavor best. Waiter was not great, but he could not give anyone great service because he had too many tables to wait on. We had to wait a long time to get more drinks, the waiter never came back to the table to check on us, I had to go to him and ask for more drinks twice.

Went to Smokey Joe's at 7:30 on a Monday night. Seated promptly; the staff was friendly. My fiance and I ordered the combo original ribs/rotisserie chicken/jerk chicken and some beers. Food took 15-20 minutes to arrive. The sauce on the ribs was too heavy; the smoked flavor of the ribs was overwhelmed by the sauce. The meat was fairly soft, although it was certainly not falling-off-the-bone soft. Plantains side dish was quite tasty. Total bill was $47. Bottom line - the ribs were tasty but certainly not fantastic and the value was quite good.

The food is very good here, but the drinks are watered down and overpriced. Smokey Joe's was probably doing the best business of all the places I ate at in Aruba and as such was the only place I ever had to wait to be seated. The generous portion of food was delicious and smokey as advertised. The service was a little bit slow and inattentive, but it was understandable considering the crowds that flock to Smokey Joe's. Food is a little pricey, but not out of line with the other restaurants in this area. The outside seating is a bit cramped, again because this restaurant is so popular, but offers a good view of the nightlife and people walking by. I would say that Smokey Joe's is a must if you are staying in Aruba. I would definitely go back and bring the whole family.

I love the location and the atmosphere of Smokey Joe's! That it is very "Red Sox friendly" is a bonus.

I had the "original" ribs, and they were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive.

The unique outdoor setting, colorful decor, and the fact that the Red Sox were on the big TV screen rounded out a nice dinner experience!

Was here 2 years ago and fell for the 'all you can eat' trap. This time my wife and I shared a rack of ribs and pulled pork. Both were excellent. We also got wings that were meaty and cooked perfectly.
Very child friendly, my daughter changed her mind on her drink three times but they only charged for one.
Only negative is the sign in front about being home of Red Sox nation in Aruba...this Yankee fan almost stayted away.

We were very disapointed - the drinks were watered-down (I had a Mojito & my wife had a Margerita), service was extremely slow, the ribs were sticky & very fatty. We had ordered a pitcher of Sangria that didn't come when the ribs arrived. We were half-way done with the meal and I told the waiter to cancel the Sangria - he insisted that he could not cancel it & brought it over. The Sangria was watered down as well. Never going back - that's for sure.
