Soenchi's Aruban Cuisine

Soenchi's Aruban Cuisine was good not great. They were out of the wine we had ordered. The menu is too long and
done poorly. They have a special 3 course menu for $29 but it has prices next to every item.

Recently dined at Soenchi's for the first time during our March visit to Aruba and we were glad we did. The food was excellent. I had an organic chicken dish and my husband had an Aruban favorite - Keshi Yena (spelling?) and both were delicious. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. The atmosphere was very plesant. The food was fresh and natural and reasonaly priced. We will definitely be back.

We were drawn into this restaurant as it was directly across from the radisson and serves authentic aruban cuisine! Joanna was our server and she was amazing. Food was excellent too. It was so good we went back a second night and it was even more amazing. Don't go to Aruba without checking out this restaurant and make sure you ask for Joanna!!!! Thanks Soenchi for helping to make our stay in Aruba fabulous!

That was our first time in the restaurant. The food was well prepared in a creative way and very well presented, but the portion were so small that it made everything overpriced (that influenced rating). The staff was very nice and friendly. It's an open restaurant and place next to it had a loud music non-stop (of a kind you have to be really very drunk to enjoy). Also it was too hot.

We have been going to Aruba for over 18 years. This is absolutely the WORST restaurant I have ever eaten in anywhere! The service was awful. The waitress got my drink order wrong twice. The food took forever to get to our table - it took over 45 minutes for our appetizers to be served. Our entrees were horrible. My husband in in the restaurant business and we can't believe this restaurant is still opened. Don't be drawn in by the staff members who work the streets - there is a reason why they have to draw in business.

My friend and I were drawn in to this restaurant by the staff outside showing their menu. When we walked up to see what they offered, and people from New Jersey walked over to tell us they had just eatten at Soenchi's and it was a must! We were offered a coupon for a free glass of wine or a Mojito with our dinner.
I ordered a grouper dish, and my friend ordered a shrimp pasta. We were both extremly happy, found our dishes extremely delishious!
Our server was Andre, and he was wonderful and attentive to us. He made sugestions for us and even posed for pictures with us. We met the owners, who is the chef and his wife. She offered us a taste of their new frozen yogurt they were creating. (That was amazing too!)
I will be come back to this resturant every year I come to Aruba!

11/7/2011 had reservations for 8pm and were seated right away. Had the 3 course meal. We started with goat cheese fritter and giambo soup. For main course Keshi Yena and Smoked Baracuda and for desert Banana Croquettes and Crystal Tear food was very good and presentation was excellent We ate outside and was very hot they need more fans. The only problem was with the check. Now I understand that some restaurants add the service charge which they do, but then they go on to tell you that this is not a tip and you should add another 15%. I did add more but not 15%. We were there for 8 nites and ate out every night this was the only restaurant that did that.

We just finished dining at Soenchi's and have to say am so un impressed I felt the need to immediately share my story on our experience. We were lured in from a worker on the street saying it could get us a table and first two glasses of wine are on the house per his coupon he gave us. We then went to wait for our table only to have to wait for about 20-25 minutes before a table was available. ONce seated it should of clearly indicated this was not the place to dine with a child as other tables sat there waiting for food to be delivered. We waited a half hour for our appetizers which my goat cheese was nothing short of 3 mouthfuls of fried cheese. My husband's soup was bland. Then had to wait an additional 45 minutes until our meals arrived only to be disappointed by a tasteless Grouper. My husband's dish also bland. Then the topper after a long disappointing wait to a tastless meal was that they brought us the bill with a service charge with teh coupon we were given clearly said no service charge and they charged us for our free glasses of wine. Then the rude waitress is telling us we ordered wine that was not part of the free drinks. Not sure how that was misinterpreted but I said we have this coupon and would like the cabernet. After speaking with a manager they gave us the wine and took over the service charge. However, just said sorry for everything else. I told them I would not be returning ever.. I would stay away..

Based on the reviews we read on this restaurant, we gave it a go and were thrilled by the results. The location is great on the strip of restaurants accross from the Radison as they start acting like "South Beach" in having a pretty girl out front to offer you a deal to pick them instead of the restaurant next door. We bit on the deal and each got the choice of a free glass of wine or Mohito with our meal.

The restaurant is "South Beach Chic" and the Service is spectatular. All of us used the $35 (Cold or Hot Appetiser, Entree and Desert option) and were expecting very small portions - we were wrong with all portions about regular size and extreemly tastey.

If you want some varied tastes, this restaurant being Aurban, reasonable priced and great service, this place is highly suggested.

Good meal, not fantastic, food was good as well as the atmosphere, but directly inside was where it ends. It is sandwiched in between two other restaurants like Philly row houses and each had their own music playing and it just ruined it for us. The dining area was warm with minimal ventilation.

We have been coming to Aruba for years and as a result, we have our favorites. Every year though, we try 1 or 2 new restaurants. This year we tried Soenchi's. We had a wonderful dinner. The appetizers were excellent. The main course was even better. We finished with a wonderful dessert.

Not only was the food excellent, the service was also great. I highly recommend this new restaurant.

My sister and I visited Aruba for my birthday last year and had the great fortune of eating at Soenchi's. We chose Soenchi's based on the fact that it is native Aruban foods and the great wine list. We were early diners but the food presentation of the salted fish was awesome. I had never tried salted fish and probably would not again but it was very fresh and what I could eat was very tasty. I forget what my sister had but she was just as happy with her food. We had no room for dessert but they made beautiful presentation of fresh fruit in an ice sculpture that sister has a photo of hanging on her fridge at home! If you go to Aruba don't miss out... go to Soenchi's, its near the high rise hotel district.
