T.G.I. Friday's (often shortened to "Friday's") is an American restaurant chain focusing on casual dining, with over 800 restaurants in over 50 countries. Its name is taken from the expression "TGIF" (short for "Thank God It's Friday" or "Thank Goodness It's Friday", though the restaurant asserts that it stands for the latter). The chain is known for its appearance, with red-striped canopies, brass railings, Tiffany lamps, and frequent use of antiques as decor.

on our recent Trip to the wonderful island, we did stop by TGI Fridays Aruba, to our surprise the servers over there were very attentive and show great interest in our trip. the food was good and was brought hot to the table which for us is a deal breaker in so many restaurants. nice music was playing in the background and I got updated with all the sport scores

1st we waited at the front desk for a good 3 min, which might not sound like a long time but as you read this, stop & just sit there "watch the clock" for 3 full min.
Yes it is a long time.
several servers went by & none of them said Hi or even glanced over

We were fianlly greeted by the manager who was very sorry & promised us we would get good service.
One person in are group has a walking disability & we were sat close & did not have to walk far, which was nice.

After we were sat down another 6-7 min went by without a server even coming over to say Hi.
I waved at the manager who was across the room & as he came over he brought our server.
Our drink order was taken but we were pushed to buy drinks other than what we wanted
Later we learned it was an "Up Sell" the servers get paid a percent of an Up Sell Item.

The drinks came in good time, but then our server seemed to get lost again. All of us had finished our drinks & wanted to order. Finally after a good 20 min she took our food order. Again she was pushing to sell other items we did not want, & was upset when we did not order what she suggested.
We thought the kitchen ran out of food. It took another 40 min after we ordered to get our food. She must have passed us a dozen times & never looked over.

After our meal we had to literally put our arm out & stop her to get the check.
On our check we had an $8.24 SC. 1st we thought SC was the service charge "Tip"
We later learned sc was the service commission the server gets for Up selling.

There are many places to eat in Aruba. We well NEVER go back to TGI Friday's

My wife and I were at the restaurant at 4:45 on Thursday, November 11, 2010 for dinner. We very often eat at Fridays stateside. We were served by "Lucia" who started off very rude because we did not want to order the special drink of the day and it went downhill after that! She did not inquire how our food wasand "threw"the bill down at the end of the meal! Complaint to the manager on leaving led to nothing as he did not seem to understand our complaints. We are here for another 5 weeks and had planned to eat there regularly but will not return! Den

We have never really like TGI's anywhere else in the world, but for some reason we went 3 times while we were in Aruba.

Their shrimp cocktail was HORRIBLE and their fajitas were mediocre, but their
appetizers were really good, and their MOJITOS were GREAT!! (no where else on the island seemed to have mint leaves!)

The staff though were very friendly, and very attentive - but not irritating.

Usually know better than to waste $$ here but kids were hungry so we stopped in..big mistake! Food was bad and service was worse. The kids pasta portions were so ridiculously small..my kids asked where the rest of the pasta was. Better off going to McD's!

We make it a point to dine at Fridays whenever we are in Aruba. Not only is it conveniently located in Paseo Herencia where you can eat after doing some shopping, but the restaurant is well air-conditioned which is a plus in hot summer nights in Aruba! We absolutely love the baby back ribs and hamburgers, we have always received good and quick service (the waitress even remembered us from the past summer!), and last but not least, food is not expensive.

On our first day of arrival we needed to eat a late lunch early dinner to get some food after a long flight.

After being seated we waited about 10 minutes for the only waitress working to take our order. THere were 4 other tables being serviced, other than the bar. There were 2 hosteses and 2 people working the register. It took 30 minutes to get 3 burgers. We never saw the waitress until she dropped the bill off which included the 15% service charge (a built in tip for horrible service). She never came over to get our payment so I had to walk it myself over to the register myself to get change. I know it's a Friday's but the Service was one of the worst I have had anywhere. We ate there on 5/24/09.
