Taste of Belgium

We had a group of 15 people for dinner. Multiple entrees were ordered and everything was delicious. Food was brought out hot and in a timely manner. No one was waiting for their dinner. It's also nice that you have a choice of seating- inside or outdoors. We sat outside and enjoyed the music and singing. Our server, Teddy was fabulous. She was extremely friendly and efficient. Her personality exemplifies the nature of Aruba being "one happy island". Definitely a restaurant I would revisit.

Breakfast

Dayla was our server and she was outstanding as well as the other woman who assisted us. The food was great although my boiled eggs were a bit overdone. The refreshing morning breeze made for a very pleasant outside dining experience.

Four of us had dinner at the new location on March 23, 2012.
The setting, compared to the prior location, was unappealingly cold, and reminiscent of long ago lunches in the high school cafeteria, surrounded as we were outside by a cement stairway and the stuccoed cement wall. This, combined with the wall of windows beyond, made for very poor acoustics, and the female singer, with an excellent voice belted out her melodies so loudly I could not hear my companions. This new location has none of the ambience the former location had, and would benefit from any attention in this area. That said, the food was as remembered: fine! We had the warmed goat cheese salad, unique, piquant and luscious, and the tiniest cubes of cucumber added interest. The Belgian pea soup was plain but ok, until I enlivened it with some of the goat cheese from the salad. The crusted grouper appetizer was the star, perfectly cooked, with a panko type crunch--exquisite! Our waiter was prompt, attentive and charming. We'll be back...

We really loved this place. Unfortunately, on our first night we could not find it as it had moved locations from 2011. But we found it on our second night and went back three times. My wife loved the salmon and I tried a couple of different things - all of which were excellant. I really enjoyed the Belgium puff pastry chicken and meat ball dish. Service is very friendly and price is decent given the outstanding quality.

Great place for dinner. Reasonably priced, great food and wonderful presentation. Highlight of the meal was coffee and dessert. Don't miss it. We liked it so much we returned for breakfast and had a wonderful meal as well. Don't miss it. We will return again.

We used to eat at the old Taste of Belgium (at Paseo Herencia). It has now moved to a much larger location at the Palm Beach Plaza mall. The menu is very interesting and the food is always solid. Staff is friendly too. In the past, I was a little unsure whether I wanted to eat here because I didn't know what to expect on the menu (we don't really know much about Belgian food other than mussels in a pot and french fries), but I am glad that we did. Ate here twice this trip (including with kids). Everyone was happy with their food and their drinks are reasonably priced.
