This was our first visit to Old Cunucu House and we were glad we went. The atmosphere is truly Aruban which makes it more fun.

The food was Aruban so it was nice to try things more to the local culture though the dish my wife had was a bit on the dry side. I found mine to be very good.

It was fun to try foods a bit different than much of the island. I would recommend going here just to try some different foods.

We will go back with friends in the future to have a more authentic experience.

Quaint place

We've been going to Aruba for 30 yrs and have never tried this place. Not your typical tourist dining place which is what we were looking for. Charming place, felt like you were dining in someone's home. Food was excellent. Our group tried the fan fried snapper, goat stew, keeshi yena and the aruban seafood special. We were all thrilled with our selections and enjoyed every bit of it. Ordered a few drinks which were very weak to say the least. Our waiter was the bar tender too. He was very friendly and offered great suggestions when it came to meal selections. Ate outside and the ambience was great. Was quite comfortable and breezy considering it was more inland. Walked around inside and saw the artwork on the walls. Staff was very friendly and made this Aruban experience worthwhile. Serving sizes were ample and the prices were great. Will definitely go back!

What else can I say, the food was wonderful the staff very attentive, no crowds as its off the beaten path. We come every year and won't missing going to this place. We love it here.. the visting cat adds some local humour.

The best dinner we had in the 10 day's on Aruba.
The catch of the day was outstanding. My wife ordered there famous dish: Keesi Yena. She loved it so much, and even more after the friendly waiter handed her the recipe. Great service!!
Beautyful old farmhouse with a romantic ambience.
You just have to go there when you on Aruba.
We definitely will go back next year.

This was our fourth annual visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, it will probably be the last. Unfortunately for us, the restaurant got busy in a short time, and honestly they are not designed to get busy. The rest of this review is giving them the benefit for this issue

Since the restaurant is off the beaten path, we had found it traditionally a good value with decent portion sizes and unique taste. We found thess three qualities now gone, even after we pointed it out to the Staff, who explained that they had no control of the Kitchen. Small portions all around, even the $5.50 salad was sparce, and the unique taste of the food became somewhat bland.

With so many choices to eat, with regret, this place comes off the list.

Loved the local, unpretentious feel of the restaurant. The food was fantastic. We had the Keeshi yena and the ribs, which were both delicious.

Definitely a place to go! We've been coming to Aruba for over 20 years and have been to Old Cunucu before. This year it was our best (and least expensive!) meal so far, and we've been here a week. It's especially good for local cuisine. The Keshi Yena is great!

Be sure to get directions. It's hard to find. Signs are there but hard to see.

This 150 old Aruban house with artwork covered walls provided an interesting dining venue. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the ambience. For starters, I ordered a Caesar's Salad which hardly met "Olive Garden" standards. My wife ordered a so-so garden salad (the tomatoes were closer to yellow than red). Her main course was Brazile fish in garlic and butter sauce, and while the preparation was fine, the fish was rather tough. The only plus for the evening was my selection of Keeshi Yena, although the chicken also was a bit chewy. As this was my first and only experience with this dish, I have nothing to compare it to, but I must say that the creole type sauce was very tasty, as was the melted gouda. If you're a casserole fan, this is a "must-try."

We like this place not only because of the good food, but the cool restaurant inside. Had my Keshi Yena as usual excellent!! Debbie had Grouper of course, and said it was very good. Had some pumpkin soup and Oyster soup for appetizers. Their pumpkin soup is not like a "butternut squash" soup as others have this is very pumpkinny (new word for Webster) and unique is always good! Had some flan for desert and who doesn't like flan?? Their pan bati and funchi are very good also. The only complaint that I have is that dinner was served with veggies and a small scoop of mashed potatoes. The potatoes were instant and unseasoned. I talked to the owner's sister and told her that a big mistake to even think of serving. Apparently they ran out of the real thing and made instant, but never again. I tend not to complain, but instant potatoes suck. Other than that all was great inside, in our own little room in air conditioning. It was too hot and still to sit outside on their patio.
