Aruba's Hidden Gem

By far the best restaurant in Aruba. Our family has visited this restaurnat many times and each time it is a true dining experience. The food, presentation, service, and ambiance are as good as it gets. All the other restaurants in Aruba could learn something about service from the Ventanas del Mar.

Perfect Glutenfree dinning

We want to complement the chef (Jim) for his excellent cooking and also for his care for my allergy (Glutenfree). It is no problem at all for people with this kind of allergy to have a wonderfull evening at this top restaurant. We therefore recommend this place.

We visited Aruba for the first time August 2011. It was all set up for a proposal. It was the best day of our lives thus far. I can't say enough about Tierra Del Sol. From the time we arrived by helicopter for our fly and dine, to our Manicures and Pedicures. We couldn't of ended the night any better, ending at Ventanas Del Mar. We had a private table on the green over looking the water, golf course, and light house. Wow what a view. Our waiter (Michael) was absolutely one of the best servers we have ever had. The food was out of this world. Everyone including managment was great. We ended the night with great conversation with their staff in the bar. I would highly recommend Ventanas del Mar to anyone if you love great service and food. We can't wait to go back next year!

This past May/June was the second year we vacationed in Aruba, and it was also the second year we enjoyed multiple meals at "Ventanas". Jimmy is an excellent chef who is personable as well as skilled in his craft - the sevice staff were pleasant, efficient and fun to talk to - the manager was welcoming, and the venue itself is warm and welcoming with good music being played by local musicians. Following our first experience at Ventanas we have routinely recommended it to friends, we will continue to do so, and we will be sure to return next year!

Wonderful experience! The view is amazing. We were there at 6pm and we first took a nice bottle of wine and enjoyed the view.

During the sunset we order our appetizer en main course. The food was really good.
We loved it. If you are in Aruba and you have the opportunity. We would recommend it.

It is sad to see one of your favourite restaurants going down.
Amuse and appetizer were too salty and tournedos was not warm, yet overcooked and meat had no flavour whatsoever.
Waiter tried his best to reduce the damage, but it is obvious the organization of this restaurant is in great problem.
Our suggestions:
1. get back the chief from 2010 in the kitchen
2. do more advertising and offer free pick-up service for guests

We really hope they come out it !!!

One of the best view restaurants on the island. You get a unique view of the California lighthouse and the north shore of the beach. We went right at sunset and got the most amazing pictures, sit outside and enjoy the very comfy chairs. Our waiter was very nice and polite, the food was pretty good. A little tip is that Ventanas del Mar has an early bird special. From 5-7, you can get either the 3 course fixed price meal everyday except Wed. and Surf and turf special (prawns and petite fillet) Wed. Only for approx $32 dollar. Combine that with a coupon in one of the tourist books for a free glass of wine. I ordered the surf and turf special, and my wife ordered the deconstructed seafood lasagna. All of which had great presentation and flavor. Would definitely recommend

During our holiday we've visited the restaurant twice. Once for our honeymoon diner, in full atire, and twice, just to relive the experience once more! We were positively surprised by the skills of chef Jim, innovative combinations of flavors, and overall quality of the food (of which some ingredients may have been hard to come by ). Unlike other haute-cuisine restaurants, the portions were also quite large. Topped with a great view on the northern side of the island, both visits were absolutely worthwile, we had a amazing time. Undertake the journey to the California Lighhouse district, (less then 5 min by taxi from the Highrise area), and be overwhelmed.

I was very disappointed this year...we have been to this restaurant every year for the past 4 years. We ordered the special surf & turf (filet & lobster). The filet seemed like an inferior cut of meat & the lobster was dried out. The corn & crab chowder was very good. The prices for a bottle of wine were very high. Will not return for a 5th time.

Beautiful. The view, the sea, the surrounding golf course. Amazing. The service was ok, but with only another couple of guests around it shouldn’t have been different. Some main courses are for my taste slightly overpriced the wines for sure. Desserts were nice. We’ll be back.

This is a great location with a beautiful view over the golf course with the Caribbean Sea in the background. My husband played there a couple of days earlier and made a reservation right away. We went early for the sunset which was nice but were attacked by mosquitoes afterwards. Unfortunately we were pretty alone. The food was good, the wine list as well though maybe a little overpriced.

We had read some good reviews about this restaurant and wanted to try it. The Chef knows just how to mix the spices for great sauces. Wonderful blend of spices in the escargot sauce and tender meat. My husband had caesar salad and ribeye; he even ate the vegetables. I had the grouper with shrimp special with sweet and sour and a butter sauce. It was delicious with no single overwhelming flavor. We will definitely return (probably this visit even). Service was attentive. It's off the main strip but an easy cab ride if you don't have a car.

This was one of the most stunning show offs I ever had at a restaurant. We arrived not by rental car, not by cab – no, by helicopter. We embarked downtown and had a 15 minutes flight and were then dropped off right in front of Ventanas del Mar, which offers already an amazing picture by the surrounding golf course. A greeting cocktail later (which I was not really fond of) we sat on the terrace with a beautiful view over the golf course and the Caribbean Sea. So you better go before sunset. The food was good, only the service a maybe a little aged.

After coming to Aruba for 21 years, I've probally eaten at every fine diningestablishment and Ventanas is definately the very best. The food, the setting and fabulous service is a not to be missed. My husband and I have followed the chef, Jim Rooseman from his previous employ and think his pairing of flavers and presentation are second to none. The updated and changing menu makes it always exciting.

The golf course is incredable, though tough to play with that wind. The view from the restaurant is spectacular and the place is pretty nice. The food is good but I think a little pricey. Only the service was on the slow side, the dessert never arrived. Still worth to go after a great round of golf.
