We have been going to Aruba for the last 10 years. We eat here at least 3 or 4 nights during our 1 week stay. It is an amazing restaurant. We are Italian and the food could not be more authentic, like nonna used to make!! We have recommended this restaurant to everyone we know who goes to Aruba and all have been pleased with it. We will be in Aruba on the 15th of August and we plan to eat there on our first night!

The food was very good. The environment excellent and we found the service was quite good as well. Your listing as not a place to visit is absurd. We ate there twice in five days and the lasagna was not as good the second time as the first, but is was still quite good and everything else was excellent. It was the best food we had on the island and the staff was very welcoming without being obsequious. I recommend it to anyone.

MAMA MIA - for Italian food, this is the place to go. In ARUBA there is a store called THE BOB THE FISH STORE - whose products are based on a fictitious character, BOB THE FISH. BOB'S claim to fame is that he champions the seas and that he has been successful in doing so because of ATTITUDE. HOSTARIO DI VITTORIO is the BOB of ITALIAN FOOD in ARUBA - excellent food served up with a bit of ATTITUDE (and would you really expect less from an ITALIAN eatery). They are really good and they know it and they show it. FOOD is delicious and service impeccable - don't argue with them - let them take you on a culinary gondola treat of a meal. The place is what ITALIAN should be all about -let them make you a meal that you can't refuse. Their location and view may not be the best - but that should not be a deterrent to the delights inside. If you want to be pampered go to MATHILDE'S or some place similar - if you want the best ITALIAN food on the ISLAND, go here and suck it up as to their attitude - they have earned and deserve the attitude - it's ITALIAN at its best. There are some other good Italian places in ARUBA, but this place takes the cake or should that be the tiramisu hands down. Their OSSO BUCCO can't be beat and their SEA BASS in SALT is done to perfection. This place is worthy of all the superlatives that can be given any restaurant and it is consistent. For the culinary expert, sitting inside and watching the various dishes be prepared by the CHEF is an enjoyable evening of entertainment in itself that you cannot find anyplace else - there are other open kitchens, but none like here. Don't want to sit inside - then there is both an inside and outside terrace or veranda. Wherever you choose to sit the service will be attentive and the food will be great. The menu is quite diverse and several visits each time we go to ARUBA is usually the standard. GO - ENJOY (both the food and the attitude).

My husband and I came here on our Honeymoon in 2007 and loved it. We were a little nervous to come back this past visit because of the bad reviews. For setimental reasons, we decided to come anyways and it was still great. We don't understand the bad reputation. The salads were fresh, the sauce was clearly homemade, and the portions were generous. This is coming from a couple who has been to Italy. The staff is pleasant; they are not over the top friendly, but they give you your privacy while still attending to your needs, which is the kind of service we prefer. Maybe we just got lucky, but we were very happy with our experience there and we will return.

Horrible Horrible Horrible. We have been coming to Aruba for 10 years. We tried this restaraunt for the first 4 years and liked it. Our final year there we had 3 children with us ranging in age from 3 to 7. They wait staff was rude to the children; it was obvious they are not kid friendly - hello?? Aruba One Happy Island? Not here! We decided to give it a shot last night after a 5 year hiatus....YIKES...my pasta could only be described as Chef boy ar dee. If you are from NY/NJ/ PA and truly KNOW good italian food - this is NOT the place for you! We have yet to find a good Italian restaurant here. but this is not the place for Italian...go for seafood, steak, hibachi, etc.

If my wife and I go nowhere else on our annual visit to Aruba it is to Hostaria. Incomparable to anything else on the island and consistent since the day it opened.
