A few things about Rumba that you need to know to fully experience it...

#1 - You could walk right past it and never realize it, but once you find it, you'll be happy you did.
#2 - It's hardly the most happening restaurant around the area, but the staff will make you feel special for dining there.
#3 - The food you're about to receive will be much better than what your initial thoughts are walking in.

Now that those are out of the way, let's cut to the chase. The food and staff are outstanding. Prices are reasonable, and you will get a unique dining experience that you will want to return to after dining elsewhere in Aruba. Everything is made fresh, and able to be watched from your table (with the exception of a couple cornered tables). In our experiences at the restaurant, we have had everything from steak to pasta to seafood, as well as dessert, and they've all been excellent. The restaurant portion of it could use a little sprucing up at this point, but the service and food make it worthwhile.

What a fantastic restaurant! We had the absolute pleasure of dining here while in Aruba last week, and it was absolutely worth it - we will be back. A tiny restaurant downtown, this can be easily overlooked because of the location - but that would be at your expense! The intimate environment adds to the charm, as the interior is complete with an open kitchen so you can watch the chef's cook your meal. The food is fantastic, some of the best we have had in Aruba - I would highly recommend the pasta Aragosta, it was excellent. Most importantly, however, our waiter, Mo, made our experience truly memorable. He was a very friendly, funny guy that made our dinner that much better. I can't stress enough that this is one of the best spots on the island, one that we will happily return to on our next visit!

We ate here last week as we always do when visiting Aruba. This restaurant does not get the attention it deserves. Located in the downtown section behind the Marriott Renaissance this is one of the best hidden secrets in Aruba. The food is excellent and you can't beat the prices. I had the chicken cordon blue which was made fresh and was accompanied by potatoes au gratin and fresh mixed veggies. My friend had the seafood combo which he said was fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Aruba.

We had lunch at the Rumba at the request of a local business and were very happy with the referral. The service was remarkably friendly and efficient a pleasant surprise compared to most resturants we ate at on the Island. The 2 mouse...mousse desert was just what the doctor ordered on a hot afternoon. Great place to eat, excellent food and service reasonably price for down town.

This was our fourth trip to Aruba, but our first time at Rumba. It is in our opinion, one of the best restaurants on the island and the prices are very reasonable. The coconut shrimp were wonderful and the portion was very generous. The deserts were magnificant and very reasonable($5 to $6). We understand the new owner/chef has been at the restaurant since August of 2008. The interior of the restaurant could stand some sprucing up, but the food more than makes up for it needing a little paint. A definite keeper.

We ate here last week.
We were pleasently surprised by the waiter, Martijn. He was a super friendly, and served us correctly. We ate the Surf & Turf, Mahi Mahi, Grouper and a childs menu. The food was good. Try the potatoes boiled in a buttersauce as a side dish. But even better was the GPD (Grand Petit Dessert). You just got to order it to find out. Overall a good restaurant, also with a child (4 years), but when youre child is a runner or walk around you better can't eat outside, because it's located next to a street. But then, you can always eat inside. Prices were good.

We just enjoyed the most pleasant evening at Rumba. Our server Moe was the best we've had all week. Everything he suggested was good, especially the Lime/Rum drink.
Being that it was our anniversary, we were surprised at the end of our dinner with a wonderful dessert celebrating the occasion.
The chef even came out and thanked us for coming. It was a slow night as there were few other people in the restaurant which is a shame, because this place truly has the best service we've experienced all week.
Thank you Moe. We will be back!

One of the best meals we had on the island!

Rumba is small place located in downtown that was a great choice for our last night. It was Friday and only a few people eating. The service was great, inquisitive yet respectful and fun. We had Moe as a server and he was fantastic! The best server we had our whole trip. He is very knowledgeable about the island and has a great presence.

I had the surf and turf and both were excellent, cooked perfectly. My wife had the trio and raved about it as well. I had their signature drink as well and as Moe described, a mojito on steroids! It was very tasty. For dessert we had the ice cream with pastry and belgian chocolate and it was a hit with the both of us.

Prices were excellent and highly recommended!!

If you are staying in Oranjestad, Rumba's is not only convenient, but the food and service and selection are excellent! The soups are the best on the island, and we proved it to ourselves. You will not find a better pan-fried grouper anywhere... period!

I can't imagine you'd have an unpleasant experience at Rumba's... the owner, the chef, the waitstaff would not allow it!! They are great. We miss their menu and their smiles back here in Detroit.
