We ate at this restaurant when in Aruba about two weeks ago, and have not been able to stop thinking about the amazing watermelon salad! It was simply delicious--watermelon with high quality feta cheese, and the most incredible subtle bit of spice. We have tried to figure out how they created that warmth without too much heat or bite. I guess we are food nerds because we have literally tried to figure this out for two weeks now. Well, today I wrote to the restaurant and I received an amazingly quick reply, with the recipe!!!! Ooooh, I can't wait. (Thank you Marc Giesbers!)
Now, while I can have this delicious dish at home, alas, I cannot have the wonderful environment of Passions. How lovely to eat under the stars, with the gentle waves just a few feet away and my toes in the sand...ahhhh, i can feel it now. The rest of the food was yummy too and the service was very good.
Go to Passions for a lovely dinner--and an unforgettable watermelon salad.

Our meals were extremely disappointmenting. It was so highly rated that we were expecting the food to be superb. The food was mediocre at best. The appetizer we ordered was imitation crabmeat! ! We've eatin at all the top rated restaurants in Aruba and believe me, Passions belongs in the bottom 10.

Best restaurant on the Island.

The food was amazing, the servers were great, and the ambiance was incredible.

By far one of the best dining experiences I ever have had.

The staff at Passions is fantastic. The setting is beautiful and when Lenny Lake plays his music, you are in heaven.

However, the food tops the list.

Passions is a romantic, delicious, and friendly place to eat.

We are going back for our anniversary again this year in September- 2010.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Passions on the Beach during our August 2010 stay in Aruba. I had made reservations prior to going there because I had read great reviews about the restaurant. We were treated to having a beautiful table for two with our feet in the sand and watching the sun set on the beautiful waters. The waiters were so nice and took pictures of us (and the other customers!!!) whenever you asked. As an appetizer, my husband had the watermelon salad, which looked so pretty that you didn't even want to touch it. Glad we did because it was delicious. So was the creamy fish soup that I had. For the main course, I indulged in the Mahi Mahi which was fresh from the sea. My husband had a shrimp dish with mango sauce that he enjoyed. We truly had a spectacular and romantic experience. This restaurant was everything that I expected and will remain as one of my favorite memories of Aruba!

Dear Marc,

Linda and I could never thank you enough, yet again. You and your staff gave our son and daughter in law, Peter, Jr. and Alicia, wonderful memories of a very special evening at Passions in July. Everyone there made sure their dinner and entire evening was perfect. They can't stop talking about their enchanting, romantic evening. In fact, they haven't stopped thanking us yet either, for planning the night with your kind assistance.

We will all recommend Passions without any hesitation. In fact, we have already sent 5 couples to Passions, so that they might have the opportunity to enjoy the same memorable experience that we did. Every one of them also enjoyed their night and thanked us heartily for the recommendation. So, keep up the good work. You're surely doing something right. :)

Until the next time, our best to you and your entire staff, with gratitude, we remain.

Peter and Linda Realmuto

What a fantastic experience we had dining at Passions! Everything was just perfect! Our waiter, Jean, was so professional and such a gentleman. My girlfriends and I were in Aruba for a girls week, and this was so enjoyable to sit on the beach, feet in the sand and be catered to. I would definitely come back to Passions on a return trip to Aruba!

Our dinner at Passions was our most enjoyable of our week-long stay in Aruba. Typically, restaurants with magnificent scenery rarely offer food that meets the atmosphere. Passions' food far exceeded my expectations, and our entire experience was outstanding. The staff was also very accommodating of our 3-year-old and 8-month-old children and made us all feel comfortable. I look forward to dining there again on our next trip.
