We have been to AUA 5 times now, and luckily we found this place in year one. We LOVE Smokey Joes, and usually hit it twice when we are there! Original Ribs and top it off with key lime pie, both are the best I've ever had! We crave it!

Our best memories of Aruba, besides the obvious beach/sun combo: Balashi, Amstel Bright, El Gaucho, Pizza Bob's, dushi bagels and Smokey Joe's! Can't wait to get back!

I don't understand why this restaurant is not in the top 10. It is amazing. My husband and I and another couple dined here twice during our stay and both times were not dissapointed. The pulled pork was delicous and very generous. The guys loved the burgers. We tried the ribs the second visit and they were the best ribs we have ever had. Somone complained that they were fatty?? Not true for us at all. They were fall off the bone meaty goodness. This is a very relaxed and fun atmosphere and the service was incredibly fast. Especially for how busy it was. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant go elsewhere but if your looking for good food at a fair price. This is 100% a must!! There is no way we will pass this place up when we go back to Aruba!!

i can't understand why it's every night so bysy in this restaurant. ok, the ribs are good but the furniture! when i go out to eat i like to sit nicely this is what we call in Holland, "Go away furniture" you want not to sit here to long because it's not posible to sit anywhere else if you sit to long. the tables were dirty and the seets sticky. but what do you expect with so many customers. in Holland this restaurant would have been closed by the health instpection!

They say they have the best ribs in Aruba and i believe that is true. I went there a few years ago and it was honestly the best i've ever had. The fried oreos are a must try. We are considering going back to Aruba and a main reason is to eat at this restaurant.

We visited the island 12/1-12/8.For a few years we passed this place and it was always busy.So on the first night we dined there. They say they have the BEST ribs on the island.NOT SO.I had 2 half racks of baby back ribs. The quality was very poor(FATTY). We will not eat there again. We did find another place for baby backs & they were very good and a little more expensive but they very good.

Positive: Good atmosphere, great place for ribs and hamburgers, although I think TGIF ribs fall off the bone even more....
Negative: I find it a little too warm both inside the restaurant and on the terrace. Air conditioning could be improved, and tables tend to feel sticky (either from heat or not clean). Staff seem a little indifferent to customers.

Beside the negative stuff, this is a great place to enjoy good Caribbean or American food.

My family of four came to Smokey Joe's base on the reviews we read. This is the only place we had to wait to be seated. We all had the baby back rib samplers. We all liked the original flavor best. Waiter was not great, but he could not give anyone great service because he had too many tables to wait on. We had to wait a long time to get more drinks, the waiter never came back to the table to check on us, I had to go to him and ask for more drinks twice.

Went to Smokey Joe's at 7:30 on a Monday night. Seated promptly; the staff was friendly. My fiance and I ordered the combo original ribs/rotisserie chicken/jerk chicken and some beers. Food took 15-20 minutes to arrive. The sauce on the ribs was too heavy; the smoked flavor of the ribs was overwhelmed by the sauce. The meat was fairly soft, although it was certainly not falling-off-the-bone soft. Plantains side dish was quite tasty. Total bill was $47. Bottom line - the ribs were tasty but certainly not fantastic and the value was quite good.

The food is very good here, but the drinks are watered down and overpriced. Smokey Joe's was probably doing the best business of all the places I ate at in Aruba and as such was the only place I ever had to wait to be seated. The generous portion of food was delicious and smokey as advertised. The service was a little bit slow and inattentive, but it was understandable considering the crowds that flock to Smokey Joe's. Food is a little pricey, but not out of line with the other restaurants in this area. The outside seating is a bit cramped, again because this restaurant is so popular, but offers a good view of the nightlife and people walking by. I would say that Smokey Joe's is a must if you are staying in Aruba. I would definitely go back and bring the whole family.

I love the location and the atmosphere of Smokey Joe's! That it is very "Red Sox friendly" is a bonus.

I had the "original" ribs, and they were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive.

The unique outdoor setting, colorful decor, and the fact that the Red Sox were on the big TV screen rounded out a nice dinner experience!
