We go to Aruba twice a year.... did not like this place at all... how do you run out of sangria????? bring the bug spray....food was ok....waited a long time for our food... Juan Carlo our waiter was very nice but he should have stayed at La Cabana... the kitchen and bus staff is not helping out the waiters at all, making them look bad. Juan Carlo appolgized at least 20 times during the course of the night for the delay. My suggestion is DON'T BOTHER.

hey guys i wanted to tell you that i haven't been to pam pam for a long time and before i used to go for the salsa dancing on fridays because if it were for the food and service i would have never go back. but i read an ad that you guys changed chef so we went to give it another chance . we really felt like eating fish and seafood and that day that is what they had on there special menu... let me just tell you GREAT TASTE... congrats and salute to your new chef Ludwig.. the presentation and service were good we ordered a sangria and we enjoyed our meal very much.. they had a new setup and it looked a lot better.i didn't put a high score on the environment because of the mosquito's(so take repellant with you
)but the place is is very nice and tropical...i would definitely recommend this restaurant for your next trip.....

I have been to Aruba 4 times, but this was the first time we went to Pam Pam for dinner after seeing their ad. One woman in my party wanted the "cook it yourself" meal, but was told that she needed to reserve that one day in advance. The ad didn't make that clear. We started with the crab appetizer which was tasty and we each got salads. The salsds were nothing special and actually tasted like bagged salad and boxed croutons. For my meal I got the pasta alfredo with chicken. It tasted like macaroni & cheese so while edible and OK (if I had wanted mac and cheese), certainly not what I ordered. My companions got the codron blew and was not not blown away and the meat lasagne. The lasagne was luke warm and parts still seemed frozen. Dessert was only slightly better. All in all, our worst meal on the island. I did like the atmosphere, but from the ad we saw, it said "indoor or outdoor dining" Planning to eat indoors, I didn't bring bug spray and ended up wiht two dozen bites on my legs. I agree with other reviewers that this is a big Dutch ex-pat restaurant. We, too, had a view of the pool at the motel next door and were treated to children running in and out of the restaurant and climbing on chairs and fences. Overall, I recommend skipping this restaurant.

Fri 06/19 – Pam Pam
Drinks not right – vodka martini was sweet & margarita tasted strange; wine was good. Wife's Grouper was too salty; vegetable side-dishes came with a cheese sauce. My Chicken Cordon Bleu was too dry & the ham & cheese were on top on the chicken. Atmosphere was nice – reminded us of the old Marandi, but our table had a view of the swimming pool at the motel where a couple of boys were horsing around.

Food selection was good. Prices were very reasonable. Service very average. They do not take American Express - just a heads up

wow, this restaurant takes the cake for absolutely the worst service in the history of eating out. we were a group of 7.. ordered drinks and the meal... all went smoothly until one of our friends who had enjoyed a pasta dish the previous week at this restaurant ordered the same dish. at that time the dish was served "without" cheese on the top.. this time the dish arrives "with" cheese. He tells the waitress that he is allergic to cheese. she gets very upset, returns the meal to the kitchen.... then returns to say that they would not replace the meal because, "they were too busy". and then he was told that, "they ran out of pasta"...a short time later they offered him a different meal, but he was very upset and refused it. Overall, they were very rude, unaccommodating. and after this incident no one returned to the table again until we asked for the check... stay away from this place!!

Pam Pam is in a motel/resort called Perle D'Or. Their directions online and in printed ads were good for getting there...off a dirt road beyond Chef's Table.
The restaurant is basically outdoor seating in a walled garden. There is a big thatched cover (like a beach chickee) in the center that covers the bar and some of the tables...rustic atmosphere.
We DID enjoy the food. My wife had the "seafood stew" ($17). I had the "chicken sate" ($13). Both were good. I've had sate a couple times. This peanut sauce was rich and thick. Both of us had enough food to take back for lunch the next day. Part of this was because we shared appetizers of onion soup and bread with garlic butter and a tapenade. We each had a small salad too!
People at a neighboring table had their "cook it yourself"/cook on a stone meal...and seemed very pleased.
The service was very good. The hostess assisted the server and was attentive to any needs without being intrusive.
I would say that it is very reasonable in price (2 entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 small salads...$46 plus gratuity).
There seemed to be a number of local people speaking Dutch there. I would say this is not very fancy and not gourmet, but good, substantial food in a pleasant atmosphere. You do need a breezy night for best enjoyment. If you like Nos Cunucu, you will enjoy this place.
