This was the first place we dined when we arrived in Aruba 08/02/2010. We ordered two apps. Lobster bisque and beef carpaccio. The soup was just ok and the carpaccio was pretty good. We both ordered the sea bass. I believe the dish was cooked French style. As it turns out the fish is actually baked in a pie like filling that the waitress actually cuts out and servers to you. The fish was moist but the flavoring just didn’t cut it for us!!!!! I will never ever order backed fish again! To top it all off the sea bass was very fishy. I do not recommend at all. First night on the island so we didn’t want to complain. Shame on us for not speaking up! Our fault for not reading closer to see that the fish was baked (lighting is very dim in the first place outside) but to have the fish be fishy tasting is not acceptable. I’m sure they would have done something for us if we would have said something. The service was very good. Next time I will speak up!

AMAZING! This is the best restaurant I have been to in a long time. I had the escargot in puff pastry, it was tender and the pastry flaky, I couldn't get enough of the garlic butter sauce it came in! For dinner I had the duck which was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had crab cakes for app, which he enjoyed and the shrimp in red pepper sauce which were excellent! We split the creme brulee for dessert and I was mad I didn't get my own. It was the best creme brulee I've ever had! You have to try this place, I wish I would have eaten there twice! It is right across the street from the Radisson, set back just a little with a wonderful ambience. I wish they had a place in NY as I would be there once a week! Don't miss this amazing meal!!!

Do not pass up a meal at this restaurant! My husband and I were vacationing in Aruba the 3rd week of June. Our waiter Leon was so kind and helpful and the chef very accommodating to my food allergy concerns. Anyone with a sophisticated palette, who appreciates complex flavors blending so elegantly into a meal cannot miss going to this restaurant. When home we seek out these kind of small, unpretentious places as opposed to the big over-glorified ones. We ate here twice and loved it both times. A must go!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Papillon. The sea bass, snapper, and veal were all excellent and we were lucky enough to be there to enjoy the white asparagus special as well. We will definitely return to Papillon!

A MUST TASTE!--All superlatives, from genuine friendly service, wonderful food presentation, heavenly melt in your mouth filet mignon, to the refreshing desert--and an Early Bird Special to boot! This is Aruba's best kept secret!--it's set back from the sidewalk situated with other small businesses around a circle (not a square) with live soothing musical entertainment. Bon appetit!

We came to the papillion by way of a street presentation previous night. We had the filet (mr)that was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouth. The service was great or better and the ambiance was just as good. Added to the great experience in the restaurant was a wonderful flugle horn (ala chuck mangione) musician and we danced after dinner. This restaurant maybe one of Aruba's great secrets. Prices were very reasonable plus the early bird special and w/o service charge so you can make the decision on tipping. Would suggest it as one of your must do places to eat.

On my second trip to this wonderful restaurant, I was not disappointed. Once again I was treated to exceptional service and delectable food. My grouper was fresh and expertly prepared. My cousin had the filet of beef and raved about its tenderness.
I had an opportunity to meet the Chef and his family who were dining adjacent to me. They have a beautiful baby boy who is as enchanting and delightful as his father's cuisine.
You can't go wrong if you choose Papillon.

Another one of our favorites as far as food and ambiance.

We happened to be there during the "white asparagus season" so we tried the white asparagus appetizer that's served with egg and prosciutto (very good!) For entrees we had the Beef Bourguignon and the oven-baked sea bass. Food and service were excellent. This is becoming one of our favorite restaurants in Aruba.

This is one of the better new restaurants on the island, within walking distance from the highrise hotels. Had the Snapper and the Grouper which were both excellent. Chevre salad was excellent too. The service is very attentive. The wine list is a bit pricey.
