By far, the best authentic local Aruban restaurant in town. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere busy, but very acceptable, and the food is out of this world. They actually catch their own fish daily to be presented as "catch of the day". Fish and seafood is their specialty, and it is flawless. If you want the best in town, visit The Driftwood. We go every year, and it's great!

By far, the BEST restaurant in Aruba. Don't miss going to Driftwood. They catch fresh fish daily and it is the best around. We're going on a cruise and obviously the food is included, but we will sacrifice a few $'s to eat GREAT food. ENJOY!

We looked forward to something we had enjoyed in the past....wahoo, pan-fried, Aruban-style. Our greeter said it was available. After drinks were served, a rather officious, snippy person came by to take the order and said it was unavailable. He was several levels below friendly...acting affronted because we did not order an appetizer.
The alternatives were good, not great. The team service was a little confused.
I think we'll "walk on by" this year.

This restaurant we visited twice. Each tine we selected the catch of the day. First time Aruban style and the second fried with a light breading. Great salads came with the dinners. A variety of vegetables decorated our plates a;png with a baked potato We enjoyed the corn bread that was served as part of out bread basket. The place for seafood in Aruba.

After dining in all the open air restaurants this one was not quite the same enviroment. My husband ordered the fish- grouper that nite which is the dish to order at about $17/ very good. I was looking forward to wahoo which i heard was good but not available at any of the restaurants we went to all week. My lobster was not good. Looked beautiful & huge but tough with no flavor. they did take off the bill at 36 which upped my opinion of the wait staff. The seafood pasta was overpriced and fair. Service was rather slow with multiple wait staff. Desserts were very good esp the tiramusue.

This is a nice restaurant serving simple but well prepared fresh seafood. It's OK, but there are so many very good places in Aruba that I might not go back to this one.

We went to Driftwood based on their reputation for having some of the freshest fish on the island. The restaurant is located on one of the side streets in the downtown area. I ordered the Wahoo with an Arubian creole sauce, which was excellent. A couple of things to keep in mind about Driftwood 1)Not a fancy place but very comfortable and relaxing. 2) The owner catches the fish fresh daily.
3) Make reservations because the restaurant is not very big and stays crowded.
Would reccomend to others who want great seafood but don't mind the no frills environment. Entrees around $20ish.

The fish is very fresh- the fresh catch was mahi mahi - which my husband and I both had- it was delicious- everything was great.
My husbands favorite was the native 'pica'- pickled onions- used to put on the fish, the bread, whatever-
and the pan bati- the Arubian corn bread with sour cream- he is still talking about it.

After 13 years of eating at the Driftwood we were treated so poorly by the staff that we will never, ever return.
Food was still wonderful and maybe they were having a bad day, but as easy as we are and as much as we have enjoyed this restaurant, I swear I will not spend another dime there.
If the owner cares the date was March 8, 2005 and honestly,,, we came close to walking out due to your staff,,, (except the girl that was pregnat, she was very friendly)
Aqua grill was happy to see us two days later..............
