We were in Aruba in December and stopped by the Cafe' The Plaza with friends and loved it. We had to go back to have the Shoarma chicken pita. It was excellent. The staff is friendly and treated us like family. We did go there at 2:00 pm so it was not as busy. Thank you for your warm hospitality.
We stay next door at the Aruba Renaissance and stop in to Cafe the Plaza often. It's a great place for a few afternoon beers with lunch, and they have good food all during the day.
For a real treat, stop by on Sunday and order the HodgePodge special, a Dutch staple. Whatever meat they have left in the fridge on Sunday (might be a wurst, a giant beef meatball) on a bed of mashed potatoes with sauerkraut mixed in, and a little brown gravy over the top. Awesome! One of our favorites.

Our favorite "off the beaten track" place in Aruba! Good breakfast for a great price. Good lunch. We absolutely love the quiz show on Tuesday night. Dick cannot keep his mouth shut and gets caught up in the excitement. We tried helping a local contestant, but probably hurt him more. I just love the people who work here. To them, remember the SL65!

Had a delicious, very reasonably priced, lunch here and the service was wonderful. From the time we walked in the door, everyone was so very friendly. We went again for dinner, and the food was again outstanding and the prices and service were fabulous. We have added this to our list of "must do restaurants" in Aruba. Thank you to the staff and chef for a delicious meal in a great place.

Had a nice, inexpensive, basic breakfast here before a day of shopping downtown. Nice, quiet relaxing place and great coffee (Smit & Dorlas).

We went there twice because the prices were cheap and the view was nice with live singing entertainment. We waited to get a seat for about 1/2 hour (others more daring just sat down at a table and just got served without waiting). The first night we went we tried the bitterballs (not so great- but locals love them), My husband had a chicken pita sand. which was good and I had chicken kabobs with peanut sauce- chicken was good (same taste as my hubands) but peanut sauce was think and grave like- not so good. The second day we came back for lunch to try again because of the prices but were disappointed with the selection offered and left without ordering (note- a fish sandwich is not a fillet but a mixture between imitation crab and tuna fish!) Would recommend for a cheap dinner but only to go once during your stay.
