My Husband and I had the pleasure of dining here on the last night of our honeymoon! Everything was wonderful - from the pool-side ambiance to the service to the meal. I highly recommend everyone try the Keshi Yena appetizer - a true Arubian treat!

This is a GREAT restaurant! We were tempted not to try it due to some of the negative reviews, but we are so glad we went there! The atmosphere is very romantic and beautiful, service was great and food was super. We were invited to tour and do a quick wine tasting in their wine cellar which was also marvelous. The shrimp was succulent and the Keshi Yeni appetizer was great! They even gave us the recipe! Lots of fun and we will definitely go back!

Papiamento was our dinner choice on March 12, 2010. Having dined there on a previous trip we looked forward to the romantic ambiance of a table pool-side.
There was a confusion with the reservation time for 8 pm but waited for a table at the bar which was very crowded. After a brief wait we were seated by the pool and orders taken immediately.
Our salad arrived in minutes--we had just been seated and the food started to arrive. Not finished with salad, our main course arrived. Hate to complain about quick service but we felt very rushed with this meal. Never finished the salad as I began to eat the meal "Lobster and Shrimp" on the stone. The problem with on-the-stone is that it continues to cook the seafood and in order that it doesn't become "overcooked", ate it as quickly as possible. Dinner was over in no time and still had a full bottle of wine. Our plates were cleared and we sat and enjoyed the wine but continued to feel rushed as tables were being cleaned up and most patrons were now gone from the restaurant.
The staff was very polite and very attentive.
Aruba has so many excellent restaurants and left with mixed reviews on this rushed meal, most likely would try somewhere different on a return trip.

We had been told this restaurant was a 'must skip'. I'm so glad we didn't! The charming location and ambiance alone is worth consideration. We had French Onion Soup made special by the replacement of the traditional broiled cheese topping with a nice smoked Gouda. My Lime Grouper was excellent as was Mr. KathrynH's Neptune Rock Grill. The salad was nothing to write home about but fresh and simple-nice with the richer dishes we ordered. Service was fantastic and the dining experience by the pool amazing. I did notice many locals eating there.

From getting out of the taxi, you realize this is going to be a dining experience. We were a group of four and most of the diners were couples. The atmosphere is quiet and romantic. The restaurant was once a mansion; hence the tables are around the original owners pool. Although, there is indoor seating, why would you sit indoors. The appetizers were great; we had Keshi Yena and even got the recipe. Three of us got entrees on the hot stone. They were OK. Next time, we will opt for something else, because if it is anything like the starter, it will earn a "10". The atmosphere at Papiamento is absolutely beyond a 10; so you shouldn't miss it.

Our favourite restaurant on the island! We go there at least twice and we are never disappointed. The service is impeccable, the staff very attentive and the food is outstanding. Looi and Jennifer are wonderful and sitting by the pool with the warm breezes is an experience that makes me smile during the cold winter months. A great location for a special celebration!

This was our favorite meal out of the whole trip! Dining poolside a real treat, the service was great and the meal was incredible. I had the Mermaid plate which was caribbean shrimp with the wahoo on a hot plate. I love super hot food, so that was a great choice. Being from CA we found they had an extensive wine list from Napa and if you are lucky you are invited into the wine cellar and they had an extensive bordeaux list as well (my favorite!) Can't wait to go back.

Love sitting outside at this cozy restaurant. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I always order the Chef's Special Soup...cream of mushroom. Delicious...you must try it. For my main dish I always get the Neptune(Lobster,Fish,Shrimp). Was just as I remembered it from last year...very good. My husband always gets the Chef's Special steak with melted Gorgonzola cheese on it. He loved it. For a romantic and delicious dinner, come here.
