Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

Our friends told us that this was the finest restaurant in Aruba. The food was good but definitely not excellent and we were disappointed. We sat outside and were bit by bugs. They had to bring us insect repellant.

The lump crab and crab claw for $18.00 was not edible. We ordered three different fish dishes. The snapper was very good. The grouper was good and the salmon was not tasty.

The service was excellent. The bus boy was from Holland and he was personable and we really liked him. The service was excellent, but the food did not live up to our expectations.

We tried to go to this restaurant last year, but could not get a reservation. This year we made the reservation in February via the internet.

We were extremely pleased by the restaurant and the service. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. We had the lobster ravioli and the sea bass along with the ahi tuna and the rack of lamb. We plan to return to this restaurant next year when we return to Aruba.

This restaurant was a disappointment to all 4 people in our party. the service was almost non-existant until time to pay the bill - and than the server did not present the bill some one from management did. The restaurant itself was only about 50% or less occupied which should have been a clue up front - we normally had to wait even with reservations. I would definitely not go out on a limb and recommend it to anyone. There are too many other restaurants to go to in Aruba.

We ate at MJ on December 18th on our last evening in Aruba, and boy, a great way to end the vacation. It was our third visit to this restaurant. We ate there twice before in our previous visits to Aruba and each time we had great food. We were 7 people including 2 children had the almond grouper, summer time chilean sea bass and the dutch pork tenderloin, all cooked to perfection. Great apple strudel as well. The restaurant has great atmosphere, great service, friendly people and the best food we ate on the island. It is our favorite. It is consistent in the quality of the food, childrens menu, excellent and accomodating for picky kids; the best chicken tenders we had in Aruba. I find it hard to understand the bad reviews that I read. We have been to resturants rated higher and were dissapointed but never dissapointed at MJ.

Despite hearing mixed reviews about Madame Janette, we decided to try it and ended up regretting our decision. Our waiter was distracted, we were served the wrong wine from the bar, and with an expensive bill, the entire experience was a huge disappointment. While it was nice to sit outside, the place was packed with tourists and resembled a crowded Ruby Tuesdays rather than a tropical fine dining establishment. With so many wonderful spots to eat on Aruba, we will definitely not be returning.

What a wonderful meal my husband and I recently had at this lovely restaurant. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. Can't wait to return next year. The almond grouper and pork tenderloin were both fantastic! My husband also loved the apple streudel. Servers could not be nicer,so well trained.

We go to Aruba every year and never fail to eat at Madame Jeanette's. It has never disappointed. The setting is wonderful, the staff always friendly and attentive, and the food is amazing.

The portions are huge, the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious.

This is one of the best restaurants on the island, we LOVE it!!!
