Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

Our appetizers were OK but not as exceptional as in the past. We had a crab meat "lollipop" that was just OK. In the past we've had the crab cakes and the lobster ravioli which were much better. The house salad was very good. Our entrees were outstanding - we had the almond grouper and the shrimp coco di rasta. The creamed spinach is also phenomenal. They were very accomodating for our 7 year old - they made her a pasta dish and served it with our appetizers. Had great entertainment with a guitarist and singer. Still our favorite place on the island.

As usual, the best meal we had on the island!! Food was outstanding, innovative, fresh and delicious. Hubby had the Kobe Beef sliders and I had the Kobe Beef Salad. Gianni Versace and the pasta w/chicken special for our entrees. Can't wait to return!!

We always have one meal here during our vacation and we're glad we made reservations in advance... Doing it online was a real timesaver. The meal was excellent, the service wonderful, and the experience great. We're coming back in 2008 and already have picked our entrees. A gem of a restaurant as always.

This has always been our favorite in the past, it still is near the top of our list, but has slipped in food preparation, portion size and service this past year. They have gotten extremely popular and it seems they are doing their best to keep up. They used to offer great value but now have raised their prices more than most restaurants in Aruba.

Madame Janette’s is one of the highlights of my 5 weeks in Aruba. We have never had a bad meal or poor service. We have found the staff to be delightful and more than willing to please. The manager always has a smile, a kind word; he is visible and communicating with customers. My husband and I have just arrived home and will miss the great food until we return in 2008. . My accolades to the chefs, you’re the best!

Simply the best on the Island! We were there twice this trip, 2/5-2/17 2007. Have been here each year for past few year's and each time it just keeps getting better!

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. We were a party of 8 with two small children. All of our meals were cooked to perfection. We have already decided that we will visit MJ's two times next year!

My wife & I visited Madame Janette on
2 occasions. My wife had the grouper that was prepared superbly. I had the surf & turf that consisted of a lobster tail, 4 shrimp & a petite filet mignon. The food on both ocassions was excellent. On our first
trip we felt a bit rushed between courses. Our appy's were crab cakes both times and they were absolutely delicious. The ice cream desserts and coffees were also on the money. Definitely a restaurant not to be missed!!!

Remote location. Were seated at our table under a tree outdoors. Beautiful setting and atmosphere with the light live music. The food was unremarkable and the service pleasant but was "island" style...slow. Even though it was busy Kasi managed to stop by our table to explain the dishes. Wine selection was very good. We were not rushed and actually closed the resaturant and moved to the bar for drinks which we enjoyed with the staff. Pricey but the atmosphere made it worth it to us.
