Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

I heard so much about this place and had to try it. The place was beautiful and very decorative. My sister and I split most of our meals on the island as we eat 5 small meals a day. We ordered the filet and they charged us $7.00 extra just to split the meal. It was good, but very, very salty. Our waiter had no personality whatsoever! I thought Tulip was better than this place. Although, we did like the appetizer very much. It was the Tuna sashimi. Fantastic! Very expensive too, but thats fine, you are on vacation and who cares! I of course do recommend eating here because it is very pretty.

Four of us went for our first dinner on Aruba. We had four entrees including fish, steak and pork. All were superb. In fact, my NY strip was the best steak I have ever eaten. No kidding. Rudolph was a wonderful waiter. We plan to return this week.

AS THE PRICES HAVE GONE UP OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS, IT IS STILL ONE OF THE TOP RESTAURANTS IN ARUBA. WINES HAVE GONE UP TOO. DINNER IN THE GARDEN WAS GREAT MAHI MAHI SPECIAL, GROUPER, SCNEITZEL AND A STEAK WITH ONIONS AND CHEESE. SERVICE WAS GOOD, THEY MADE A MISTAKE WITH ONE DISH(ASKED FOR NO SAUCE), THEY APPOLOGIZED AND OFFERED A DRINK FOR THE FOUR OF US. THEY DO BUISNESS THE RIGHT WAY. DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR LONG FOR THE DISH TO ARRIVE. HIGHLEY RECOMENED. TOTAL FOR 4 PEOPLE $174.00. 8 GLASSES OF WINE AND 4 DINNERS.

My wife and I dined at this GREAT restaurant on 11/01/06. This is without a doubt one of the top 5 restaurants on the island. Will be back in April 2007.

Visited Madame Janette on 19th October, and was extremely impressed with service, quality of food, entertainment, ambiance. I e-mailed for a surprise "something special" for my husbands 50th birthday before leaving the UK. True to form, after the meal he was serenaded with Happy Birthday by the singer and guests, whilst the waiters arrived with a piece of birthday cake, complete with candle and Happy Birthday message on the plate. The environment was superb, and I would recommend Madame Janette to anyone visiting the island who likes excellent service and class.
Thank you Job, you did us proud.x

We haven't been here in a couple of years and we apparently had forgotten what we were missing....was one of our best dining experiences on the island. Atmosphere (sitting in a garden like area with twinkle lights), food, and service were all excellent. I had the tenderloin and my husband had the surf & turf - both were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Was also happy to see that they've expanded their bar area since there is usually a bit of a wait for your table (much more comfortable and spacious now while you're waiting.)

We’ve been going to Madame Janette’s since they opened 7 years ago. We are huge fans and have always had great meals here. This past visit we went four times in two weeks. The menu always has new things to try and I should be better at writing down all the things we ordered but the Coco di Rasta Shrimp in a light curry sauce was exceptional as were the Chorizos for an appetizer, both new to us. We each ordered the pork tenderloin – always great – and had our share of beef and fish appetizers and entrees as well at later visits. The Almond Grouper is always something Dan orders. When we arrived there was a special menu with mushrooms playing a large part in the recipes. Just great and a pleasant change. New for us also, but a staple on MJ’s menu, were the Mixed salad and the Cesare salad. Beautifully presented and loaded with great fresh produce; we can’t understand how we hadn’t tried this sooner. If you're a salad eater, order these. A highlight was a new dessert special which was pumpkin seed ice cream (think pistachio flavored) and a chocolate soufflé. Oh my….. sinfully delicious. The owners and all the staff couldn’t have been sweeter. Again, it’s like coming home when we go to this extraordinary restaurant. It has always been a consistently great dining experience. Whether we go by ourselves or with another couple or a large group everyone agrees it is their favorite on Aruba.

Very pleasant surprise on entering the restaurant. Much larger than expected with a great ambiance. Diverse menu, with good portions, and great presentation. Along with a staff that will take the time to explain the composition of each menu item. Will definitely be coming back on future visits.

My husband and I were at Madame Janette's last week for our 30th wedding anniversary. This was our first trip to Aruba we tried a few restaurants. This was by far, our favorite.

It is an absolute must!

8 of us dined here this week and were very impressed. It is very romantic and the food and service were great. It was not as costly as we thought it would be. Nothing is cheap in Aruba. The waite staff were all over the service. Incredable Ceasar salad served in a salad bowl that is worth the trip. This is fine elegant dining without being stuffy. Casual dress allowed. A must experience...
