Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

You must eat here if you want everything to be perfect! We look forward to eating here every year. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. A bit difficult to find, but all the taxi drivers know where it is. The atmosphere is only eclipsed by the food. Almond grouper...WOW! 10's all the way!

Had dinner there for the first time in 15 years of traveling to Aruba (weeks 29/30 - 2006). I would like to say it was the best meal I ever had in Aruba. I will say it was one on the top 10 best meals I ever had anywhere in my 53 years including NY, CT, VT, FL, NJ, MA,LA, London, Paris, Rome, and Lucern. I had the tenderloin my asociates had the filet.

After all the hype from other reviews on this website, i had to go here. I promptly booked upon arrival so i could return later in the week if I wanted. Not only did I not rebook, I would return. Over-rated by vacationers, unless you want heavily sauced foods, with lots of herbs for flavor. Portions are good-sized however. Dinner & dessert for 2 with glass of wine each was $83, plus tip.

We were recommended to Madame Janette's by another guest at our resort. We were very pleased. This was our 4th dinner in Aruba and by far the best. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent and in enormous porportions!

A must in Aruba!

We went to several restaurants the week we were in Aruba. This was far and away the best. The only thing to be aware of is that the restaurant is outdoors. Dress accordingly.

Just a great place to eat. We had the Almond grouper, cordon bleu and the duck. Just one remark: Why serve a Cordon Bleu that is large enough to feed 3 persons.

Madame Janette's was recommended to us by a couple staying at the same resort we were. They said it was their favorite restaurant.
Madame Janette's is one of my all time favorite restaurants now.

The atmosphere is enchantment.
The service is superb.
The entertainment was top notch.

All the good things in the other reviews about this restaurant are true.
The presentation of the food is a work of art. My salad (plenty big enough for two - but I ate it all) was beautiful and delicious.
Since I had had sea-food most meals while in Aruba I opted for the Rack of Lamb. It took honors as the best I have ever had. It was served with a bit of a cabernet sauce.- Nothing overpowering, wonderfully prepared and seasoned.
My wife had the Chicken Picatta. I tasted it - Oh so good.
How could a person get all excited about Au Gratin Potatoes ? You just have to try them to understand. someone in another review used the word decadent - I will agree.

For desert, since we were stuffed, my wife and I decided to have coffee and split a desert. She picked the Chocolate Moose. Again the serving size was more than enough to split. - a perfect ending.

I am sure Madam Janette will become one of your all time favorite restaurants too!

If you are planning a trip to Aruba make a point of going to Madame Janette. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. We had such a great time there and the prices are very reasonable. Make reservations - we went on a week night and the place was packed.

AMAZING! By far our best dinner in Aruba! Almond-crusted grouper was superb as was the surf & turf (perhaps the lobster was the tiniest bit over-done). You MUST try the au gratin potatoes--words fail to convey how decadent and wonderful they are. Service was top-notch. Atmosphere was wonderful, esp. with the duo on guitar and vocal--very romantic and relaxing. We were a bit warm b/c we did not sit directly under a fan and we each got one mosquito bite--but I can hardly complain considering how wonderful everything else was.
