Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

Just made second trip to Madame Janette's with 7 other people. We ALL loved our dinners. It is a a special restaurant. The Crusted Grouper is to die for. Not one complaint from our table even though I am only one that noticed none of had the vegetable of the day on our plates. Who cared, the main courses were all excellant.
One thing about this "huge" restaurant is that they really need more toilets.

This must-visit restaurant is a hidden treasure just east of the Palm and Eagle Beach area. Set in a residential area at the end of a street, Madame Janette is a great dining experience.

Its seating area ranges from open air to entirely outdoors and the lighting and mood are quite romantic for couples, and equally appropriate for groups. Nothing beats the gentle breezes under palm trees and twinkling lights.

The central area has room for musical talent, and on the night we were there, a soloist was playing some popular melodies from all genres on a guitar.

Service was great, and food was fantastic. Try the famous surf and turf, and you get seafood and steak with your meal. The shrimp were the best I've ever had with a very robust flavor and delicate texture. If, after all that, you have room for dessert, they have a good dessert selection too.

Entrees: $16-24.

restaurant,a lot of different plates on the menu and good portions.
Do not expect 2 Michelin Stars,
but food is very good for
price-quality,
Come back every year and enjoy it each time.

If you are looking for a romantic restaurant setting under the stars, then don't hestitate to have dinner at Madame Janettes! The white lights on the trees, the blowing of the Aruban evening breeze and the soft sounds of the guitar soloist make the atmosphere very special. We have been to Aruba 15 times in the past 15 years and rate this restaurant our favorite! We have dined here 6 times and have never been dissapointed with the food and the staff has always been friendly and accomodating. A few tips though would be to make reservations early and to be sure to ask to sit outside. This restaurant is always busy which tells you that its patrons are repeaters and that the word is out to not miss this place!

First, we recommend reservations. Parking was very difficult. Service was slow, and servers seemed rushed. We would have had more drinks but the server never came around again. I REALLY liked my sea bass, but Sarah thought her meal was only good.

We can't miss Madame Janette's each year because of the great food, prices and ambiance.

This year we were even more amazed by their presentation of every dish served to us.

Appetizer-spicy crab cakes
Salad-Ceasar (large enough for 2 people to share)
Entree - Mahi Mahi (catch of the day)
Dessert-chocolate mousse

I seem to remember now that we ordered way too many dishes (can't remember what my husband had for an entree) - but we were stuffed!

Our first visit to the restaurant was a few years ago, and we had such a disappointing evening we hadn’t been back until this May. As bad as that first experience was, this one was 180º different, and we had an excellent dinner. On our first visit, the total lack of service was appalling, and our meals weren’t that good. On this visit, one of our Aruban friends took us there for dinner, and we had great service and excellent food. It was the white asparagus season, and we had their heavenly asparagus soup to start. For the entrées, we had one order of pork tenderloin stuffed with ham/cheese/white asparagus, one order of pork tenderloin stuffed with onions/mushrooms/cheese, and one order of rack of lamb. All were excellent, but too much food, so we had a nice lunch the next day with the leftovers. We’ll definitely go back to Madame Janette on our next visit to Aruba. Madame Janette is located in the Bubali section, next to the Blue Village Apartments. All the seating is outside, but you have a choice of being on the deck under the roof, or out in the garden area under the stars.
