Passions on the Beach
A dinner at Passions on the Beach is far and away the most romantic and unique Aruba restaurant experience on the island. Dine with your feet in the soft white sand and the soothing sound of the gentle waves caressing the shore. Watch the breathtaking sunset on Eagle Beach while tiki-torches slowly light the night. The fresh cuisine varies from meat to freshly caught fish while the desserts offer an indulgent treat you won't forget.

The atmosphere and location are amazing--how can you go wrong with barefoot dining by the ocean on a starlit night? Unfortunately, it seems as though the kitchen hopes you will be swept away by the setting and not notice the food. The seafood soup was oversalted and full of bits of shell. The grouper was dry. The greens on the side were coated in some gelatinous sauce. And once our server had delivered the entrees, she disappeared and never returned. We sat for almost an hour after finishing (with no water or anything else) until someone came by to clear the table. There was a guy playing keyboards and singing, and while his repertoire was good, he was a little distracting. I'd rather listen to the thunder of the waves while I eat than someone thundering through "Piano Man.";
We didn't get dessert (that's double "s," by the way) because we just wanted to get out of there. Oh, and we got to watch some young kid (from another table) run up and down the beach and then stop and pee into the ocean right in front of us. And they say romance is dead.

There were 12 of us who ate at Passions on 12/30. The setting was fantastic - on the beach with the sun setting. The piano player was excellent. The waitress and staff were lovely, but the service was extremely slow. Those who had the blackened mahi mahi were very disappointed, as it was overcooked. The creamy shrimp dish was excellent, but was cold when it arrived. The grilled shrimp with chutney was excellent as was the Aruban fish soup - a must if you go. The filet was very good. The martinis were terrible! The chocolate cake was excellent, but very rich. The staff was very nice to sing happy birthday to one of the group and have sparklers on the cake. The bathroom was across the street which is inconvenient. Unfortunately, we had heard such positive things about this reataurant, we were somewhat disappointed.

We had a wonderful evening at Passions Restaurant. Everyone from Diana and her staff to Paul at the piano made the entire evening a night to remember. The setting is like paradise and the food was equally so. Thank you to everyone for the special birthday dessert as well. We hope to return again very soon for our next holiday to celebrate.

This is a great restaurant! I made a reservation for Passions prior to our arrival based on the recommendations I read online. This was our first visit and first night on the island and we had high expectations. We were greeted by name when we arrived and had great service from our waitress Diana. We felt like we were VIP’s that night. I will definitely return to Passions!

I am an experienced traveler and a "foodie" and we were very happy with our choice of Passions for my 50th birthday in Nov. 2007. I made reservations on-line before I left home and they were waiting for me when we arrived with a drink, as we were early. Service was very attentive and friendly and food was tasty. Bathrooms are across the street, but that seems ok since restaurant is literally on the beach. Go for it.

Our dinner experience at Passions was beyond any words. My husband and myself felt like we were the only ones under the stars enjoying our dinner and listening to the music. The entire night was like a dream. Dianna was wonderful to us - whether we need bug spray or another drink and surprised us with dessert for our 27th Anniversary. Thank you again, and we can't wait to see you next year.
