SideBar
Sidebar Bistro is unique in a trendy, sassy and sexy way; it is ready to welcome you. Common ground and denominating factor of the guests includes the enjoyment of life, in particular the good things, such as great bistro food, wonderful drinks and a relaxed, happy atmosphere. What’s so special about Side Bar, you might ask?
The menu covers all the bases as well as the outfield, with the stress on quality. Side Bar’s chef is a miracle working in the creativity department, so you can always ask him to surprise you with his specials.
When it comes to drinks, we might warn you: once you try the various Bourbons or Barrel Aged cocktails, you will be lost. This is another world, unknown on Aruba, where your taste buds will be partying and the lingering aftertaste of a premium Bourbon will be a cherished memory for a long time to come. Are you a beer lover? Well, there will be six beers on tap as well, among them Heineken, Balashi, Chill, Stella Artois and Miller. Nobody will leave this bar thirsty.

Not good

No hostess to seat you we were ignored. Finally seated outselves at a table. Someone took our drink order forgot all about it and after several reminders and 45 mins later we finally got our drinks. Food arrived and was not correct. No apologies - no comps - they even charged us for the soda and getting fries with our burgers. Will never go here again.

Stopped at Sidebar for lunch today. It is in downtown Oranjestad on the sea side of the Renaissance Marketplace. They have only been open a couple days. A smart move was to bring in Gert Jan as a bartender. He is known around the island, is good at his job and is personable. We live in Aruba and a benefit for us is that there is plenty of close parking. It was lunch time so we had soup and burgers. The onion soup was very good and the burgers were clearly made from high quality beef and maybe the best on the island. The menu looked interesting and we will definitely be back soon.
