Despite not being of Indian heritage, I still love spicy food. This really is an excellent Indian Restaurant. Authentic food and always excellent service from the friendly Manager, Rajesh. Being a local, I must admit that Taj Mahal is my favorite restaurant. It may be small and unpretentious compared to some other restaurants, the quality of the food and servings are great however. In the end, this counts most. My compliments to the chefs, they always know how to indulge my taste buds. Even my wife loves the food even though she is not much of a spicy food lover since Taj Mahal cooks the food right after order takes place and adds spice according to preference.

The food was more than great here. It was full of taste and flavor. I would have eaten there twice on my trip if I had more time. The only downside to this restaurant was the slow unfriendly service. Although the owner seemed to care about the satisfaction of the customers and was 10 times friendlier than the rest of the servers. I have tried many different Indian restaurants in the states as well as the country of India and I would have to say this is one of the best Indian meals i have ever had.

When you get tired out fancy dining, and want a culinary diversion, indian cuisine is appealing. In downtown area, food was good, and portions were ample. Dinner for 2 including beers were $55, plus tip. Service was minimally acceptable.

I had to give the service such a low rating because it was just terrible for us. We were a group of 11 so I'm thinking that is why it was so bad, but still it sucked. Everything took so long to come out, we were there for about 3 hours. There were only 2 waitresses at the time and they were both unfriendly. I would say if you are in a smaller group you should try this place because you might get better service and the food is excellent. Hats off to the chef.

Great Indian food and best value on the island. I had a combo meal (see back page of menu) for $10 and it included several courses and was very good. Atmosphere, however, is badly lacking.

Good Indian food but an unspectacular setting. Dining room seemed somewhat dirty and yellow walls need a fresh coat of paint. Service was very good. Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala (good) , chicken shagwala (good), naan bread, rice, 1 mango lassi and 2 Balashis - $40 w 20% tip. If you want Indian food and don't care about atmosphere, this place will do for lunch.
