We Enjoyed Two Wonderful Meals at Flying Fish

Oct 17, 2018 - posted by
We enjoyed two wonderful meals during our vacation at the Flying Fishbone Restaurant. The ambience exceptional, the food delicious and plentiful, and the service unparallelled. The security at our resort recommended the restaurant. We went last week for our anniversary with friends and had a memorable experience. We were seated immediately. The view of the ocean and beach was superb. We watched the sunset and reflected on the wonderful vacation we enjoyed. Our waitress, Weng, was absolutely superb!! Weng was very attentive and ensured we had a wonderful experience! Everything was fantastic. We returned to the restaurant with different friends this week. We again enjoyed a wonderful experience and so did our friends. Our friends said they would be returning to the Flying Fishbone on future trips to Aruba. My bride and I will certainly be returning to the restaurant on future trips to Aruba. Thank you for the experience!

We have Been coming to Aruba for over 13 years ... heard good things about the Flying Fishbone, but never made the trip over until this year. Our family finally went to dinner and had the best experience. Great food and atmosphere. Our waiter, Hylton, was terrific too! Highly recommend the 40 minute trip ... it’s worth it!

Honeymoon special

This was our second trip to Flying Fishbone. The first was celebrating 6 months of dating and now we celebrate our honeymoon. We ate with our toes in the water and had the most delicious meal. Our waiter, Hylton was fabulous and came out to surprise us with a brownie and sparklers to celebrate the occasion!

Excellent Dining Experience

Jun 27, 2017 - posted by
We received a recommendation for the Flying Fishbone from an frequent visitor to Aruba while picking up our rental car. He highly recommended it by saying the food was great and he liked the idea of dining with his feet submerged in water because it created a very relaxing and serene experience, and boy he was right on point. All of the seafood we purchased was fresh and prepared to perfection. I would definitely return again and would hesitate to give it a 5 stars...you'll love it!!!

Glad we Booked this Restaurant

I am really surprised at some of the negative or disappointing reviews about this restaurant. First off, it is a bit out of the way from the high rise hotels, but well worth the ride. I did know how much the cabs charged - upward of $100 for the round trip and did rent a car for the week for $210 primarily because of this. The restaurant is a real joy once entering it. The attention to the details and decorations were first class all the way. Our table was not entirely in the water but close enough that one of my feet was in the water. They offer shoe stands next to the tables to hang your shoes to keep dry. And there is a foot wash for later when putting your shoes back on. You can't get any closer to the water than what this restaurant offers. Our waitress was Weng who was excellent. She can wait on me anytime. After a drink which is expensive anywhere in Aruba we had a Carpaccio of Artichoke with Goat Cheese, Warm artichoke hearts with melted goat cheese and honey walnut dressing, appetiser which was excellent and so tasty. My companion had the Halibut fillet with sun-dried tomato risotto, spinach and champagne sauce which was equally delicious. I had the special of the day which was a unicorn fish which was a little disappointing but not bad enough to really complain about. I would have liked the Halibut with the champagne sauce better, but that is a personal choice. Since it was my birthday they brought out a small piece of chocolate cake and blueberries with a sparkler, for the occasion, which was perfect. As an extra, the water surrounding the restaurant had submersible lights to light up the water after sunset. A nice, romantic touch. Considering everything, this was our favorite restaurant by far. A unique and satisfying experience. Highly recommended for all visitors to Aruba.

"Disappointed"20/01/2016

Jan 29, 2016 - posted by
Your Restaurant was highly recommended by past Aruba vacationers to our Son who was treating us to an off resort dinner. We had researched on the web site, and were looking forward to the experience. It is quite a hike from the hotels, a negative if you don't have your own ride. Upon arrival, we were seated at what we thought was the best table in the house, on the beach. The ocean front setting, ambiance, and sunset was spectacular. That alone was worth the trip. Small children playing loudly in the adjacent apartment properties was annoying. Menus and beverage options were very extensive and complete with many options. Service was good and a bit above average. Food presentation was excellent, but quality was FAIR at best. I ordered Scallops that looked luscious as presented, but turned out to be over cooked and were chewy and hard to eat, I could not finish. The Caesar Salad was way over dressed sitting in a pool of dressing. Pasts was under cooked and tough. Wife's Lobster was rubbery and cold. We are glad we made the trip, but unless something changes with food quality and exorbitant pricing, we won't be back

What was not great about this fantastic restaurant! The food, the setting, the staff, especially Weng, the staff, the selection! My wife and I just thoroughly enjoyed everything this restaurant had to offer! We did not want to leave! We were able to dine on the water! Such a romantic and intimate adventure! The presentation and the taste of the food was outstanding! It is a shame we don't have this restaurant in the states!
Just absolutely LOVED it!
