Great Experience

Jul 19, 2012 - posted by
we dined recently here after seeing some fantastic reviews. White was everything it was said to be. Fantastic service is a new very contemporary setting. We had the good fortune to view the plating area and watched the care that went into plating each dish. Fried Tofu for my wife and filet for me. She also had the kimshee salad and I had the corn chowder. Everything was great. My only negative (minor point) is that it takes a bit long to garnish and deliver the cooked food and that impacts the food temperature. I do recommend White!

Amazing!!!

I went here for my birthday dinner. The food was excellent, there were many choices and it was presented beautifully. My waiter, Joshua, was SO NICE!!!! He had a very friendly, warm feel. The dessert was delicious, and because it was my birthday, they wrote "happy birthday" in chocolate sauce. Will definitely be back there in the near future!

Presentation and Taste

The great reviews led us to White. Can't say enough about the presentation and how the flavors work together for a delicious meal. Seemed like everything was prepared as ordered, so be prepared for a wait but it's well worth it. Highly recommend the corn chowder and wonton soup. If you want gourmet food with gourmet $$ pricing, you won't be disappointed.

A MUST TRY- They care

We went to White Modern Cuisine to try out this new unique restaurant and we were glad we did. It was a great experience for us. Carlos our waiter did a really good job. We ordered potatoe and leek soup and what we received we were amazed. When they bring it over the Chef created an amazing display with the leeks done 2 ways and the potatoes. This was brought to us without the soup, which was poured in to the bowl by Carlos. Then we received the fish of the day Mahi-Mahi and snapper which was done right. This was the best fish we had on the island. It was cooked perfect. The fish was done without sauces poured on top which sometimes takes away from the fish. This a new restaurant and everyone must give this one a try. Their prices and right in line with all of the top restaurants in Aruba as their main courses are $28-$34 App's are $10-$17. Wine is also reasonable. They also offer a tasting menu which we will try next time, the prices start around $55. The team at White Modern Cuisine really takes pride and what they do and you can see and taste it in their food.

Aruba mag trots zijn op dit perfecte restaura

May 9, 2012 - posted by

Michelin ster waardig restaurant in Aruba

Best In Class In Aruba

Apr 18, 2012 - posted by
In all my years of travel, I have acquired quite a palet for the various types of international cuisine. Therefore, I have one rule which I follow at each destination, and that is that I always sample local cuisine wherever I may be. While this can be a bit scary at times, I have certainly found this rule to be rewarding.
While staying my first time in Aruba, I had asked many different people for their opinions on the best local restaurant on the island. With the responses, I had narrowed my decision down to two establishments; Madam Janette's and White Modern Cuisine. After reading some poor reviews about Madam Janette's from customers who had been there just a day earlier, I decided to take a walk over to the Palm Beach Plaza and visit White. This brand new Aruban masterpiece, created by co-owners Mary-anne Werleman and Chef Urvin Croes, rubs elbows with some of the top culinary establishments in the modern world.
My lady and I were happily greeted at the door by the hostess, and even though it was an hour before their closing, she made sure we had a prime seat in full view of the staging area. Our server, Carlos, started us off with their signature cocktail, the White Mojito, a slight spin off the refreshing Cuban classic spun with grape vodka and topped with passionfruit caviar. When reviewing the menu, which we were informed changes on a regular basis, I decided to leave my evening in the hands of Chef Croes. I chose the four course tasting menu which consisted of a hot and cold appetizer, main course, and dessert.
I must remind all who read this that if you are looking for a restaurant where you can consume your entire meal within an hour, pay and leave, please choose the commercial standards on the strip like TGI Friday or Texas de Brazil. This gem is for those with discerning palets who enjoy taking their time at dinner and relishing every bite. Chef Croes made sure that my first experience at his restaurant was a memorable one, creating a tasting menu with selections I normally would not choose. He started me off with his duck appetizer; juicy pieces of skin on duck breast complimented with an apple compote and dehydrated peanut butter which comes alive once it hits your tongue. We were informed by Carlos that Chef actually executes a number of his sauces this way including his chocolates.
This was followed up by charred sea scallops resting on a bed of chopped mushrooms. Since my lady's favorite dish is scallops, I wanted her to be my first judge of this dish. To my pleasure, she confirmed that these were indeed the best scallops she had ever had at any restaurant. They were cooked to perfection and the compliment of mushrooms and freshly shaved parmesan only added to the fireworks exploding in my mouth.
My main course arrived and I was once again surprised as Chef Croes decided he wanted me to try his Cornish Hen; again, not something that you can get just anywhere in Aruba or many restaurants in the world for that matter. Chef prepared the skin on white meat on a plate paired with a cabbage spring roll topped with a red pepper tapenade. On the side, Chef baked the dark meat in a potatoes gratin and chose a mushroom chicken gravy for dipping.
Dessert finally finished the wonderful experience as Chef served us his chocolate lava cake, paired with french vanilla ice cream and his dehydrated white chocolate powder.
All in all, this dinner was more that either of us could have expected in Aruba. White does not charge a service fee and their pricing is far superior to that of what you are charged at most of the resorts and restaurants on the island. If you do not try Chef Croes' creations at least once while visiting Aruba, you have wasted your vacation.

White is a beautiful, hip, sophisticated space.

The food is expertly prepared and excellent.

Sadly, it is very difficult to locate this new Aruban gem because of it's location in a new mall in Palm Beach.

I hope they invest in advertising and some signage. It would be a tragedy for this restaurant not to succeed because people can't find it.
