We don't take $100 bills
I've been going to Aruba for years sometimes twice a year and can't say anything bad about the island, love it there. I go to Duncam Donuts on the pier behind Raddison. When I travel I carry mostly $100 bills so I don't have a pocket full of bills, when I went to the DD this time I was informed that they don't take $100s after I made my order and the lady made my stuff, i was shown a small sign on the window saying it. Not having enough in smaller bills to pay for what I ordered and was made for me, I had to leave empty handed. Lesson learned I guess, won't do that again.
Rude Staff at DD by Smokey Joe's
We had a very poor experience at this DD in the high rise across from Playa Linda. My husband ordered "a large coffee with cream and sugar." When he saw that the inattentive server was starting to make an iced coffee, he interrupted her and said that he had requested a hot coffee, not iced coffee. She totally ignored him, finished the iced coffee and placed it on the counter waiting to be paid. My husband once again told her that he had ordered a hot coffee. The second server there rudely stated, "if you wanted a hot coffee, you should have told her that." At that point, I spoke up and told them both that he DID tell her that - twice! I then turned and said to my husband "let's get out of here - they're rude".
DD management had better take note of the rude behavior of their staff. They will quickly lose business when treating customers like this. We will NEVER go back to this DD again.
Unhygienic treatment of ice cream
Dear DD owner, I visited your location at Tanki Flip and this was just unbearable what happened. Your employee was helping to count all the small exchange of a customer on the counter with her bare hands, no gloves on and wanted to help me with these same dirty hands to scoop ice cream. When I told her that I wanted to wear gloves before handling th ice cream she replied: "but this is how we handle everything in all locations" I told her that she has to wear gloves because I saw her using her bare hands with the coins of the other customer. Then she put the gloves on. Now I'm asking myself, for food safety purposes and hygiene, why the management isn't acting towards such discrepancies of employees. This happened on Tuesday , December 30,2014.
We have been going to Aruba yearly for 9 years. We go to the Alhambra D&D.This year the service was horrible. When staff decided to stop talking and wait on people some had walked away tired of just standing there. The staff were very rude also. One of our friends who speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese, began talking to one of the workers rather loud. He turned to us and said lets go we are leaving NOW. He told us that he heard the 2 women D&D employees saying that "All these foreigners want to do is eat drink, no wonder Americans are so fat and cheap. Get those brats out of here." There was also a family with 3 small children waiting and waiting to get ice cream at the ajoining baskin robbins.Of course they denied saying that. One actually told our friend to mind his own business. Thing is...they are the ones loosing business. One happy Island?????
The staff was friendly and efficient. The prices were only slightly higher than in the US. The donuts were fresh and yummy. It was also great that it shares space with an ice cream place (Baskin Robins maybe?).
Had to buy and Aruba D&D Ice scraper, and everyone loves my Aruba Dunkin Donuts Mug, wish there was another place to get one.
I will be back!!!!!!!!
Awesome Donuts! They have the best cream filled chocolate and vanilla donuts! We were there for breakfast bagels and fresh donuts and we were there after dinner ice cream and more donuts!
Great locations, on the beach between radisson and Occidental and out front between all the shops and restaurants.
Dunkin Donuts Tanki Flip is the best!!! Rocheline and Claudia are the top, always smiling, always helpful. The bagels melt in your mouth. The donuts speaks for themselves.
It's Dunkin Donuts.......what can you say.
It's time to make the donuts.....LOL.
Nothing special...donuts were as expected.
We will return!
No coffee coolatta in Aruba? Outrageous!!!
the best donuts and coffee ever
