Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

We always love this place. The food is great! The portions are great! The environment is great! Last visit the service was not the best but it will not keep us from returning. Would highly recommend trying out this place.

Madame Janette's was highly recommended by everyone we spoke to, but I would not recommend it to anyone and will certainly not go back there to eat on my next trip to Aruba. My husband and I swatted so many flies that he ended up flinging food off of my plate because of all the flies that we around. I had Mahi Mahi fillet and my very first bite had a bone, as did all subsequent bites. My husband loved his meal. The only redeeming quality was the service. He was very friendly and attentive, but between the bones and the flies I could not wait to get out of there!

I measure all other restaurants by MJ's. Again we were not disapointed. The meals were great, the portions are big and the price is reasonable. My favorate!

Excellent, as always. My favourite spot on the island. Expensive but well worth it. Service was exceptional. This year our reservation was mis-handled by hotel concierge, yet restaurant Manager made it all work out.

Just wanted to thank the entire team from Madame Janette's for a wonderful dinner on 12/15. The food was exceptional, the setting was gorgeous and our service was phenomenal. Our waiter (I believe it was Thomas - tall blond and a hilariously sarcastic dry wit) made the whole meal even better.

I've been to Madame Janette 3 times in the past 3 years. The experience was acceptable only 1 out of those 3 visits. On my latest visit, the kitchen was unable to modify ANY of the dishes except one to exclude onions. The wait staff acted like I was a problem because of my request.

Suffice it to say, this restaurant is not worth the steep price.

Always a wonderful dine. So good this year that we cancelled another reservation to dine here again w/o a reservation. The live music is a plus. The food and service are terrific. Grouper and Lamb are best choices. Potatoes au Gratin fabulous!!

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!
MJ's was highly recommended and HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING! We were told this was the best restaurant on the island. The atmosphere was lame. There was a cat roaming around scratching at my wife for food. The area in which we sat was like someone's wood fenced gravel yard. It did not allow for any air flow and with the amount of people eating around us it was a major turnoff! The food was average to below average - BY FAR THE WORST MEAL WE HAD! We both ordered a steak dish which we both agreed had a funky flavor. I had the potatoes au gratin which were hard and soury tasting. The meal was practically inedible. We could not wait to get out of there and go out for something else! You would have to pay us many florins to ever return there in our lifetime - Don't waste your time on the barnlike atmosphere and crappy food!

We ate here 2 times during our 7 night stay in Aruba. This restaurant is one of the best on the island. We had the rack of lamb and almond crusted grouper the first visit and my husband ordered the rack of lamb again the second visit. It was excellent. I tried the coconut shrimp. What a good choice!! We can't wait to back again on our next visit to Aruba.
