Lovely place

Went to Screaming Eagle for the 1st time. I had the Escargot appetizer, DW had the Caramelized Thai Shrimp and I had the Herb Encrusted Swordfish. Price was $157.05, which included 2 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, and tip. I thought the drinks & wine were over-priced, but we still enjoyed dining here.

Missed the mark

First let me say that this was our forth trip to Screaming Eagle, and this was the first time they let us down.
I started with the ahi tartare for an appetizer. Wonderful presentation as is to be expected from one of the islands best places, but the taste was lacking. You really had a hard time tasting the tuna with everything that was stacked on top of it. Seems that if you call it ahi tartare you should taste the tuna.
I followed it up with the pan seared Grouper and it was great. My wife had the Halibut and commented that the bed of spinach had a fishy smell. They also must have had a sale on rosemary that week as all the plates had a sprig of rosemary on them.
Worst part was the service. We waited a long time between our appetizer and entree, and the place wasn't even busy.
Bottom line was that it missed the mark. I have rated this restaurant as the best on the island before. Not this time. I follow this restaurant on Facebook and really looked forward to this trip. I'll come back next year and give them another try.
A little more attention to detail puts them back on top, get it together chef.

excellant

Just returned from dinner at the Screaming Eagle. I was by far one of the best meals I have had for a long time. I am not a stranger to good food or restaurents. I really liked the atmosphere. The wait staff were were pleasant and I felt they were glad to be of service to our party. I can't wait to go back.

Great dining experience

We ate at the restaurant tonight, the food was excellent and was presented well. Our waitress was Arminda, she was also excellent.

We have been to the island many times, but this was the first time dining here, we will definitely be back, it was one of the best.

feel like a king

Earlier this year we celebrated at the Screaming Eagle. This summarizes our experience: Good wines, top quality food and service, creative presentation, generous portions, honest management!
Of course we came back another time. Again the food was superb, but a mistake was made. After all, to err is human, but the restaurant corrected everything in a classy way and more than made up for it.
You can’t go wrong when dining at Screaming Eagle, especially if you give the chef Carte Blanche

Best in Aruba!

We just returned from the best dining experience we have had so far in Aruba and, we've been here 11 times since 1999 when we purchased our Marriott Vacation Villa. The ambiance, food, attention to detail, superior wait staff and wine were comparable to any top restaurant in the USA and Europe. We will most definitely return before our three week holidays ends!

Unique!

We love the Screaming Eagle! The bar is gorgeous, we've always had excellent cocktails, in fact, we always go early to sit at the beautiful bar. We've eaten inside at a table, but honestly, eating dinner so comfortably on a bed surrounded by sheer curtains, back well supported with pillows, is a very special and romantic dining experience. Plus the food is fantastic, as is the presentation--do not miss the Crepes Suzette prepared expertly in front of you. The last time we went (Feb. 2013) we had the sweetest server--her name is Weng. She was delightful. This is not a place for children, however, but for a lovely, delicious dining event for adults! Bon Appetit and oh yes, make reservations so you are not disappointed at not being able to get in!

Another great evening!

As a former chef I really enjoy a good restaurant in which everything is so good taken care of as in the Screaming Eagle. On our third visit to Aruba and our third visit to this restaurant we really enjoyed a great evening out. The food was super, and the service to. We are looking forward to come back here on our next trip. Thanks to all who made this evening so perfect!

Another Great Eagle Evening

Apologies for this being behind by a couple seeks as we were there at the very end of January. --- Again, our favorite place to dine! Fantastic food each and every time we visit (and it's been several over the many years). Always something new to try and always made to perfection. Thank you to Mariella who provided us great service too! It was the first time to Aruba for our two grown kids, who thoroughy enjoyed the experience, the setting and the food -- and that's saying something for our son, as he is quite the critic where food is concerned, being in the chef-business himself!! We will ALWAYs return to Scraming Eagle and you should too!

This place rocks!

We have been coming to Aruba for the last 7 years, and Screaming Eagle is now definitely one of our must-visit restaurants when we visit! I can't remember our waitress's name, but she was absolutely outstanding. Service was great, food was awesome, and our waitress even snagged us a lounge bed for dessert, which was one of the coolest dining experiences of my life. Well done and see you next time we're in Aruba!

A new favorite

We come to Aruba every year for one week (not enough) and always run out of nights before we run out of restaurants. Now it is even worse because Screaming Eagle is now on our yearly list. A wonderful restaurant, great food and excellent service (thank you, Kati).

When I made the reservation I was asked inside or outside and table or bed. We chose to sit at a table which was fine. What's with that bed anyway? Could be cozy.

Will Return!

Once again, the Screaming Eagle has delivered. We decided to order the Carte Blanch menu and it was very tasty and delicious. Everything was a surprise and my husband and I were both very happy. Weng our waitress was more than amazing. Everything was at a nice pace and we felt so comfortable. The only negative note was the not fully cooked lamb; which they were very apologetic for. The dessert was a selection of about five different ones, but we each received one! OMG we had 10 dishes of dessert sitting on a table for two...lol. But sooooooooooooo good!!! We will return next year. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Capstone

My wife and I came to Aruba in early May, 2012. It was a great trip, and we had lots of good food, but our last night there happened to be my wife's birthday and we came to the Screaming Eagle.

It was an experience that we still look back on 4months later with wonder. It was probably one of the best dining experiences we've ever had - in food quality, service and atmosphere.

Our server Mariella went out of her way to please us, kept our drinks full, and was always nearby, watching over her section. Best of all - it was never too much - just the perfect amount of coverage! We got what we paid for, and were happy to offer her a 30% tip. Sometimes when I pay that much for a meal - I feel cheated. In this case, I know we came away 'on top' - it was a steal for the experience we had and the service we received!

Honeymooning in Aruba!

It was highly recommended to my (new!) husband and me to dine at Screaming Eagle by family and friends who had been there before. Our whole experience was excellent. Mariella, our waitress, was kind, knowledgeable of the menu, and very attentive. We loved the lounge-effect of being on a sofa/bed to dine. I had the salmon and my husband had the rack of lamb. Both were delicious and filling, and the spacing of each course was fabulous. I was able to digest my food in time to enjoy some amazing desserts, and also Mariella made our night special by bringing a flaming dessert out with "Happy Honeymoon" written in chocolate on the plate! We couldn't have been more pleased with our night out. Thank you to everyone at the Screaming Eagle- we will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone we know who is visiting Aruba!

In the past few years we have been incredibly impressed with SCREAMING EAGLE on all levels. So much so that we placed it on our short list of places to go to more than once while in ARUBA. When we do so, we add an expectation of consistency. Though the food is still wonderful and the service is very good, the quality and service from one visit to the next, this year was, unfortunately, not consistent and that results in lowering our ranking. We like to think that the discrepancy may have been the result of just a bad evening so we will be returning next year to re-assess the matter. In the meantime, SCREAMING EAGLE remains high on our list of recommended places to eat at while in ARUBA.

I ate at Screaming Eagle twice this past week, ordering kangaroo for one meal and duck breast for the second dinner. Both were well prepared. The duck was superb. The kangaroo was a novelty and tasty. Desert for both meals was the delicious chocolate mousse three ways. One meal I also had the mussels presented escargot style and I would order again if I were dining a third time at the restaurant. Overall excellent food and service. Presentation was first class.
