Smokey Joe's Island Grill
Smokey Joe’s offers alfresco dining in a colorful festive atmosphere. "We only serve fresh caught local fish…", says executive chef Jose Lago, "...so don’t expect to find salmon and trout on our menu!". We also feature open-fire rotisserie-grilled chicken, and for the meat lover, our thick-cut tender Argentine grass-fed filet mignon is sure to hit the spot. But our ultimate treat has to be the fingerlicking enjoyment of eating our grilled baby back ribs, truly the "Best Ribs in the CARIBBEAN!".

Went to Smokey Joe's at 7:30 on a Monday night. Seated promptly; the staff was friendly. My fiance and I ordered the combo original ribs/rotisserie chicken/jerk chicken and some beers. Food took 15-20 minutes to arrive. The sauce on the ribs was too heavy; the smoked flavor of the ribs was overwhelmed by the sauce. The meat was fairly soft, although it was certainly not falling-off-the-bone soft. Plantains side dish was quite tasty. Total bill was $47. Bottom line - the ribs were tasty but certainly not fantastic and the value was quite good.

The food is very good here, but the drinks are watered down and overpriced. Smokey Joe's was probably doing the best business of all the places I ate at in Aruba and as such was the only place I ever had to wait to be seated. The generous portion of food was delicious and smokey as advertised. The service was a little bit slow and inattentive, but it was understandable considering the crowds that flock to Smokey Joe's. Food is a little pricey, but not out of line with the other restaurants in this area. The outside seating is a bit cramped, again because this restaurant is so popular, but offers a good view of the nightlife and people walking by. I would say that Smokey Joe's is a must if you are staying in Aruba. I would definitely go back and bring the whole family.

I love the location and the atmosphere of Smokey Joe's! That it is very "Red Sox friendly" is a bonus.

I had the "original" ribs, and they were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive.

The unique outdoor setting, colorful decor, and the fact that the Red Sox were on the big TV screen rounded out a nice dinner experience!

Was here 2 years ago and fell for the 'all you can eat' trap. This time my wife and I shared a rack of ribs and pulled pork. Both were excellent. We also got wings that were meaty and cooked perfectly.
Very child friendly, my daughter changed her mind on her drink three times but they only charged for one.
Only negative is the sign in front about being home of Red Sox nation in Aruba...this Yankee fan almost stayted away.

We were very disapointed - the drinks were watered-down (I had a Mojito & my wife had a Margerita), service was extremely slow, the ribs were sticky & very fatty. We had ordered a pitcher of Sangria that didn't come when the ribs arrived. We were half-way done with the meal and I told the waiter to cancel the Sangria - he insisted that he could not cancel it & brought it over. The Sangria was watered down as well. Never going back - that's for sure.

The food is ok, not really great. We tried the sampler, one of the rib is very very dry, the rest are good. Calamari is great. But the service was not great, the waitress never asked for additional drink or how is it; we have to call for her to ask for more drink. It's really bad service.

They have the best ribs on Aruba! Try the sangria! If you get the ribs you will need the wipes! Excellent service! Fun outdoor dining. If you like BBQ, this place is a must!

We tried Smokey Joes to take a break from the upscale and seafood. Great place for simple meals , great price and something that may hot closer to home for some.

We had the combo for two (40.00) and it had a bit of everything and was a perfect choice. We had a lot leftover as well (we are not very big eaters anyway).

The service was very nice and helpful.

Huge portions of delicious ribs. We shared the rib and shrimp combo and both were excellent.
