We were there (the one at the high rises) on 4/30/2006, due to a 25th anniversary. The service was mediocre. I wasn't aware when we first entered that the food was cooked on a stone. It looked intriguing at first but then when my meal (mahi-mahi catch of the day) came out I felt as if I was standing next to a frying pan because grease was spattering all over me, burned my arms. And I was going to finish the cooking? Like previous comments mentioned, you end up having overcooked meat since they don't give you a plate to put the sufficiently cooked me on it. I would not recommend that you take any children here since they could accidently get burned. Nothing like having a 400 degree rock sitting in front of to keep your atmospheric temperature up. It made me start sweating since the AC inside was minimal. It's a romantic but dangerous place to go to, from my perspective.

We have been going here for about 15 years, and it has been going downhill for some time. Good for kids since they like the unique way of cooking on stone. Service is very poor, and one of the few placs that charges for refills on soft drinks. Only good thing is you never need to make a reservation downtown.

All you can eat breakfast was disappointing. It's not a buffet as we first thought, but table service. If you are full, you can get another plate. Don't rush here for breakfast. We didn't try here for dinner.

We went last Friday night for our last night dining out on our honeymoon. We had heard about the "stone cooking" and it certainly lived up to its name. Despite other reviews, my food was cooked before being placed on the stone. However, I did have "Treasure By The Sea", and I recognize that seafood does not take as long to cook than meats. My wife had the "Surf and Surf". We both thought that the food was bland, but plentiful. We did wait for an hour to get our food. Other people seated after us received their food first, and yes, we did have a reservation.

The atmosphere was somewhat romantic, but like a storm that rolled into the countryside, the servers were serving all of our surrounding tables at once. So, you may be able to imagine about 30 meals being "cooked" at once on the stones...it caused for a hazy and smoky room with NO ventilation. Seemed liked I coughed after every bite I ate. Also, I never knew who our server was because they were different each of the three times they stopped at our table. And I think I talked to the manager, but he could've been a server by the attire he was wearing.

Overall, I would go to Le Petit for the "stone cooking" experience, but be patient. Great place to talk (while the room is not smoky) and gaze into your loved one's eyes.

We had a reservation that they gave to someone else and did not do anything to acommodate us even though we waited 45 minutes.

we ate here twice. both times there were very few customers, i don't know why. the restaraunt is lovely inside, and we loved the food. we ordered tenderloin and chicken and the filet mignon, they bring it out on a 8" square stone that is very hot and you slice your meat and let the stone cook it to your liking, kind of like fondue in a way. it has a wonderful flavor, a definite must for steak lovers. don't let this other review keep you from going.

This was by far our most dissapointing meal on the island. We were excited to try the novelty of the hot stone but we thought the food would come mainly cooked and it did not. We were stuck cooking our own food basically, flipping it time and time again so that it would not burn. We BOTH ordered a steak and lobster combination. The hot stone is very small which makes it difficult to navigate everything while cooking. Basically we felt as if we could have cooked better tasting steaks on our grill at home. Once you finally get the food cooked to your preference and start eating, the food keeps cooking on the stome making it too well-done.
