My wife and I dined here during our recent vacation after reading many positive reviews. The menu is extensive and the food (very good Schnitzel!) & service were great. Save room for their famous chocolate fondue dessert (made w/ real Toblerone chocolate). The dessert was amazing and we had some dippers left over so they actually packaged everything up w/ extra chocolate to take back to our room and enjoy it later on in the evening! One note about the atmosphere, my wife and I felt like we were being stared at almost the entire time. This was because we were about 50 years younger than pretty much everyone else in the restaurant! The restaurant didn't say anything about a minimum age requirement! So the atmosphere for us was kind of creepy (like dining at Luby's with the grandparents) but we still had a good time.

Arrived a few minutes late (dad didn't know which road to turn on.. and take it that he's 65 years old and lived in Aruba most of his life, so go figure ;-) Greeted and seated right away. We had 6pm reservations. They had an early bird special ($28.95 I believe with a small salad, entree, tea of coffee and a dessert). Again, great service knowing we were locals. Drinks, water, promptly refreshed. Salads and my lobster bisque came right away. I had the seafood platter (lobster, shrimp and red snapper), all excellent. Mom had the shrimp scampi, also delicious, and dad had the early bird Red Snapper in Creole Sauce. Dad wanted some rice when the food came, the waiter arranged for that right away as well (it didn't come with the meal).. I made sure not to order big appetizers, so I could enjoy the Toblerone Fondue! That was also out of this world, overall an excellent dining experience, will definately go back. Told dad I will make reservations for him for Father's Day. I tried to buy a red snapper at the local fisherman center's and we had no luck the entire week. I finally had to settle for a freshly caught grouper.. but at Chalet Suisse I got a really good red snapper and was very happy with that! Will definately go back..

This year marks our tenth visit to Aruba. We always dine at Chalet Suisse at least once during our stay. The rack of lamb is cooked to perfection and carved tableside. Without a doubt their steak is the best on the island. Leave room for dessert, you will not be disappointed. It is our favorite restaurant and we highly recommend it.

I've never had a bad meal here! Service has always been outstanding, if a bit slow. Well worth the wait. Staff is friendly and helpful. Have always gotten a window table so we could watch the sunset; can't ask for a more romantic spot.

I have had the opportunity to dine at the Chalet every year since it opened,(20 years ago). Each year it just gets better. New to the menu this year was a grouper dish. It was great. Chocolate fondue is our family favorite. The restaurant has a
secluded room for large families. Quite nice. A must STOP on the wonderful island of Aruba.

Without fail, Chalet Suisse has to be one of the most consistently excellent dining experiences to be had in Aruba. The food is always top notch (meats/duck flown in fresh from NYC), and the service is always cordial (something that can't be said of many other restaurants). We look forward to eating here at least a few times every year!

If you do not dine at Chalet Suisse you have not experianced the best restaurant that Aruba has to offer. My wife and I vacation on Aruba once a year and make a point of dinning at Chalet Suisse at least twice during our 10 day stay. Benny Madura and Mr. Rudolf greet you and treat you as if you are family. I urge you to try their Roasted Long Island Duck LaRange as it is the best duck you will ever taste. In addition you must have the Toblerone Fondue. Imagine fresh fruits dipped in a hot bowl of Toblerone Chocolate. This is a must visit restaurant!
