Generally good food. The envoiroment is pleasant, although not as imtimate as it could be. The open space makes for great service but not a lot of privacy of a romantic meal.

Since we stay at Lacabana each year, we find it a nice easy walk to probably one of the three best restaurants in Aruba. My wife and I are big fans of their rack of lamb and I also will get the Chilean Sea Bass when we go the second time during our week. Last year however for some reason, the Sea Bass was not as good as it usually is. The atmosphere is excellent and the service unbeatable. I am also a huge fan of their esgargot and my wife and I usually finish off our evening by sharing their Creme broulet. Don't be deceived by the outside as it does not look fancy. It is a little on the pricy side but more than worth it.

From our appetizer of escargot to our fabulous dinner of rack of lamb this is an incredible restaurant. The service was superb, they didn't know what to do next for you. We never had rack of lamb that was better anywhere else, this restaurant is the BEST! Looking forward to going back next year!

We arrived at 7:45 for a reservation and were promptly seated. For dining out, this restuarant was a cut above the rest. The tables had linen tablecloths and the serving staff was very attentitive to our needs. The restuarant had a nice ambiance.

It seemed like everything was impeccably timed, from the time you sat down, to the time the waited ordered your drinks, to the time that the food was ordered, and the spacing of the appetizers, and main dish, and dessert.

The food was excellent. A seafood appetizer was scrumptious, and the garden salads were good, with homemade dressings. I had the fillet mignon, a generous portion perfectly cooked. My wife had beef stroganoff which was quite tasty.

We were very imoressed and would definitely dine here again.

We have been to Aruba six times and this was our first visit to Chalet Suisse. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food and service was exceptional. We were also given a very lovely table in a nook. The restaurant is much prettier inside than it looks outside. I had the best steak that I have ever eaten in Aruba and my husband also liked his unadorned rack of lamb.

What a treat!!! From the moment we walked in the door of Chalet Suisse, we were impressed. Rudolf, the General Manager, was our first contact and he is of the old school. He knows how to treat his guests. We were seated in an oversized booth which provided us with view of the entire restaurant yet we had our privacy.

We started by ordering a bottle of wine from our female sommelier (Rose???), who was as personable and helpful as Rudolf. We must say from the start that the service at Chalet Suisse is impeccable, at least 5 people catered to our every need without being intrusive.

Ken's appetizer was French onion soup, which he declared to be the best he has ever tasted. My appetizer was escargot, the perfect combination of oil and garlic. For anyone who has never had escargot, Chalet Suisse is the place to try it.

Our dinner was the Chateaubriand. The filet was cooked to our liking medium/rare. The portion was more than enough for two. Veggies were crisp, bread was warm and a side of their buttery noodles complimented the meal perfectly.

Dessert was creme brulee. My favorite dessert of all time and I can be harsh when it comes to rating this dessert but Chalet Suisse's creme brulee is a 10. Evenly heated, no cold spots...the way the culinary god above meant for it to be served.

Do you think we like this place? Absolutely!!! Kennifer will be back year after year.

My husband and I had heard so much about this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. Boy were we thrilled. The staff was so attentive and the steaks were delicious as well as the portions. It's a bit pricey but then again you pay for good food and this was definitely good! They even had someone walking around taking pictures of couples, so that was a nice touch. Definitely would recommend this place.

Ate here twice during our stay June 12 and 24, 2004. We ordered from the early bird menu both visits. The soups (Lobster Bisque and Cream of chicken vegetable) and the Caesar Salad were wonderful. Entrees of Red Snapper Creole and Wiener Schnitzel made us wonder why we had not tried this restaurant before. Applestrudel and Hot Kisses deserts topped off great meals.
