of our Restaurant-Art Gallery. In the past, areas and properties were named after
the families who owned the land. Our ancestors were Arawak Indians and Europeans,
therefore the areas on the Island have distinct Indian and European names.

Very good meal and reasonably priced. Would like to have sat outside in a very lovely garden seating, but it rained that night. Inside is 'cozy' but the art gallery (paintings on the wall) was worth the stay inside. It's local style cuisine. We enjoyed it, but you must like carribean food. We did. Under $80 for 3 course with drinks and tip.

We could not have been more delighted. Even though they had a full house inside with large groups (8-12 per table) we had perfect service, and the food was scrumptious. Keri Keri ravioli was absolutely delicions, and the seafood (shrimp, octopus, scallops, etc.) keshi yena and Aruban combo (with wahoo) was all delicious. Outdoor seating was very pleasant. The friendly owner chatted with us and told an interesting story about one of the pictures on the wall when we were done.

We had a mixed experience. I had the Aruban Combo which I really can recommend. My wife chose the chicken Roulade which was maybe a little dry. It's definitely worth a try!

I really love this cute and quaint place. Its not far from the High Rise hotels and Sole Mare. Its in its own hidden place. Its local food. I had the seafood Keshi Yena. I just took off most of the cheese. That was soooo delicious! I highly recommend this place for sure.

This was the biggest dissapointment of our trip. The restaurant had received some very good reviews, so our expectations were high. The service was slow even though the restaurant was not very full. I had the house salad which could have come out of any Sizzler in the US. The keshi yena, although tasty reminded me of barbequed pulled chicken. Although my wife did like her coconut shrimp, this restaraunt is overrated. Its also hard to find.

The best T-Bone steak I have ever had and the portion was huge. Will go back every time i am on the island. Ambiance inside has a local feeling

I was very pleased to find a restaurant that sells traditional, local food. There aren't very many on the island that I could find. I tried the keshi yena with chicken. It was different but very delicious. I also enjoyed the outside patio; it was rustic but very romantic. I would definitely go back again!

The concept of this restaurant is very appealing--yet the restaurant doesn't live up to its potential charm. Dinner for 2 including 2 glasses of wine, and 1 dessert was $90, plus tip. I would not return.

the food was excellent.my wife had the coconut shrip and i had the gasparito chicken. the apple strudel was also very good. the outside dining area did not appeal to me so we ate inside. the waiter was superb. give this place a shot. it's very charming

We dined outside in the courtyard here and while Papiamento and Madame Jeanette (in the same general area) had palm trees and other decoration in their outdoor seating areas, Gasparito had little. Therefore, it was a little less intimate than the others. The pack of ravenous dogs barking no less than 100 meters away didn't add to the ambiance, either. I'm gald we ate late this night as it was not very crowded when we were there. I had the Mahi-Mahi with what they described as a creole sauce. It was tomato based, but very sweet. Having lived in New Orleans for 2 years, I was expecting something a little less sweet and a little more spicy. It was okay, just not what I expected and had I known I would have opted with something else. I also had a seafood chowder which was very good. Seafood chowder/bisque in Aruba is a little different that what we are familiar with in the US. The Aruba/Caribbean version is less creamy and not as thick (i.e. better for you), but is a fish stock base with just a touch of heavy cream and a hint of curry. There were big chunks of lobster and fish which was great. I actually needed to cut them with my knife they were so big. It was basically the same in each restaurant that I tried it, but while I enjoyed it, some may not. Enough of soup talk. To wrap up, if you are going to dine in this area, it's a fair dining experience, but if you've been to Madame Jeanette and/or Papiamento, you will be disappointed by this restaurant.
