Madame Janette
Ramon Helgers and Karsten Gesing founded Madame Janette April 2nd
1999. Their collaboration resulted into a place, which offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

Ramon is responsible for the exotic fruits, herbs and vegetables you will find in not only our dishes, but also in most supermarkets on Aruba. Karsten, a European Master Chef, trained in 'old school' traditions creates, with help from his knowledgeable international
staff, tasteful and creative dishes. Their combined worldwide experience
gives their dishes an original flavour with a touch of Caribbean in it. We call it the Madame Janette Experience! We hope that you will have a wonderful dining romance.

We visited Madame Janette's twice during our 2 week stay in Aruba, it was that outstanding! The atmosphere was "tropical elegance", the food equaled the best we have had in all of our travels and the staff was attentive without any feel of being rushed. We will definitely include Madame Janette's during every visit to Aruba. They even take reservations online! A+

We had heard and read many varying opinions of this restaurant; any negatives were easily dispelled by our evperience; were were a table of 10, including teenagers, who can be very difficult to please at times. Everyone raqved about their dinners; the service was impeccable; the wait staff was not aggressiv e, but always waited for our signs to move forward; I think that is why many people think the service is slow; they need to speak up and the servers will react...the food was perfect and very high end; if you want a basic filet that is available too; a must visit before you leave the island!

We have been going to Madame Janette's for as many years as it has been open. It is our all time favorite restaurant on the island. This year we took our kids, who had never been. They loved this restaurant as much as my husband and I, and totally agree with it being the NUMBER ONE RESTAURANT IN ARUBA!
The service is superb, Jorge, is the best, and makes you feel so welcome.Chris is always checking to see if everything is well, Job honors my reservations on line, Dennis is the best bartender.
The food is delicious, with so much to choose from. My husband had the chilean sea bass this time, best on the island, my daugthers tried the coconut shrimp and wonderful almond grouper, the lobster ravioli appetizer is superb, the ceasar salad is so fresh, and big enough to share, the martini's are the best on the island (Thanks Dennis)
The deserts are so good, we had the Dutch chocolate cake, to celbrate my husbands birhtday. Wonderful. We cannot wait to go back in November. Superb restaurant, our very favorite.

We go to the island annually and just returned. We took the children once to the restaurant and we went alone once too. The staff was just as good as the previous years with the children and with us. They accommodated us and never rushed us. The food was great the first day (when the children were with us). The second time, the lamb was dry and cold but the fish was amazing. We returned the lamb and the manager immediately came to the table, apologized and corrected it. Still by far a great restaurant, great waiters, and great ambiance. Will be back next year

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Aruba this past August. We went to Madame Janette twice. It was the most unreal meal I have ever had. I ordered the surf and turf and I have never had a better steak in all my steak eating years...and I live in Chicago, IL...some of the best steak houses around. Very romantic, but Bilashi beers. Every bit worth the price!

We just got back from 3 weeks in Aruba.
We have gone to Madame Janette's every
year. This year it rained when we were
there, just a quick shower and everyone
outside went rushing inside, we happened to be under a tree. We ordered
a drink, and twice before we got our drink they wanted to take our food order. I ordered the lamb cooked medium
rare, of course it was very well done.
The waitress said she would take it back. They were very fast getting me a
new order . For the prices they charge, they should not rush you.
I use to love this restaurant, but now
it is nothing but a fast food restaurant, with very high prices. They use to care about the customer and
give you a very enjoyable evening.

We went on 3/4/2009. The place was booked solid, but moved efficiently. We orderd the Gianni Versace Filet and our friends had the Rack of Lamb. Both were excellent, served hot and in ample time. We had an inside seat where the air did not move a lot, but the ambiance made it bearable. Great food, efficient service and we peeked at their service book, they are booked solid every night. A must visit for a great meal and great ambiance. We split ameal and there was plenty to go around. They ran out of Apple Strudel, but the Swiss Chocolate Mousse was a great fill in. They have a bathroom attendant; not so comfortable with the tip jar in the bathroom.

This is still the best restaurant on the island...hands down. I don't understand the negative reviews but I agree w/TimJ below... Their portions are quite large so be sure to fast throughout the day. Everything is just so pleasing about this restaurant. MJ has the ambiance, the quality of food even the wait staff is also quite good - mind you we are in Aruba so standards are not NY or San Francisco. We eat here everytime we come to Aruba. This is a don't miss. Oh and go later so that you can catch the live music on the patio...so lovely.
