Just had a couple of appetizers for my meal - the tuna tataki and the caprese salad. Tuna was nice and tender and they gave you your own oil and balsamic vinegar for the salad so you could add as little or as much as you wanted.

One of my friends ordered the beef skewer (thinking it would be small) but it was biggest skewer we've ever seen - almost looked like it was served on a turkey platter! May have to try that next time if I have a larger appetite!

Service and atmosphere were both good - very pretty place and very relaxing.

Matthew's is a full Service restaurant and bar on the beach where we enjoyed lunches and dinner during our last visit to Casa del Mar. The dining room is quite beautiful at night and open to sea breezes. The staff is international and were all lovely - professional and friendly. We had the sesame crusted yellow fin tataky and the Matthew's salad for appetizers, the seared tuna and filet of grouper for entrees. During the week we had our favorite grouper sandwiches for lunch. There's a nice casual and upbeat vibe to the restaurant and bar during the day as well.

We stayed at Casa Del Mar and Matthews Beachside Restaurant was a wonderful experience! The staff is friendly--especially the young man serving breakfast each morning. Jorge and Victor were a delight. There was another gentleman there-forgive me I do not know his name (mustache and black hair)--sooo accommodating. In addition there was a young girl -black hair-very pretty -worked everyday w/ a smile. The food was terrific-lunch sandwiches are huge! Breakfast was excellent-especially for the price. Our last dinner was at Matthews--I wish I could have taken a doggy bag back to the states! Not to mention the view! Perfect spot!

Worst food on the vacation! Going to one of the casino's would have been better. Now, I know it is extremely hot here now, but there was no air flow in the restaurant and the flies were swarming! The chicken was dry and hard to eat. The pasta was over cooked and mushy! Take your money and go some place else! You won't be sorry!

will never go back. Staff was good enough, but as soon as they brought food to our table we were swarmed with flies. My mom was concerned they had come from the kitchen. I know we were eating outside, but all the restaurants we eat at are outside and never have we had an issue. I had a chicken kabob and it was good. My sides were cold. My mother had a salad that she enjoyed and a huge appetizer of calamari that she stated was very good. My son had the chicken parm (the entire reason for coming here) and he said it was not the best he has had. Hubby had an Argentinean steak and enjoyed it. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the palapas on the beach are so close to the restaurant that you cannot really see the beach or the sunset.

Matthew's is quite a pleasant surprise. We walked down from the Bucuti and enjoyed it so much we returned for another evening. First of all, the martinis were excellent. The entrees were great as well and the portions were amazing. The atmosphere is terrific and the service is outstanding. This restaurant is a nice little find and well worth the trip. Make sure Matthew's is on your list; you won't be disappointed.

My daughter bought a time share at Casa Del Mar recently and invited my husband and I for the week of 7/19/08.
The staff at Matthews (especially Jorge,Ricardo and Kelly) added to the overall fun for the week. We were treated like we were very special customers, but noticed that all guests got the same wonderful treatment! They had that way of making all the guests feel special.
We ate at various restaurants in Aruba, but we ate at Matthews many times also. We tried all menus including breakfast, lunch and dinner! Best burgers ever!
Happy hour was fun, amazing when hearing that cow bell 3 times a day, people would start walking up from the beach, (in a hurry)! Funny to see!
Thanks again for making our week fabulous!
So, same time, same place next year, see you.

Marie, Billy Jr., Leah, Billy Sr.and Norma and Roland!

We stayed in the hotel next to Matthew's and ate lunch there four times. It truly is a really wonderful restaurant. With that said, it's hard for me to believe that anyone would rate the food a "10" - because that would mean that no restaurant on the island could serve better food, and I know for a fact that there are at least two restaurants that I would more highly recommend.

I just returned from my timeshare at Casa Del Mar and Matthew's restuarant, by far, was the best part. The daily happy hours are a great perk at multiple times a day. The staff was excellent. Well attentive and fun(Jorge, Ricardo and Victor are wonderful!). They really made you feel at home. I also really enjoyed their food. The lunches were great along side a Belashi beer and I really enjoyed their change of dinner menu with theme nights(Italian night was my favorite!). I can not wait to return back next year and hear that cowbell for Happy Hour!

Matthews was such a big part of making our trip to Aruba perfect. The food, staff and atmosphere can not be out performed by anyone on the island. I have been there three years in a row and no other restaurant had as much of a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
Thank you for the great food, friendly smiles and excellent drinks and company at happy hour! We can't wait to see you all next year!
