stayed at Casa Del Mar 4/26-5/3. Great Bar service from a friendly staff especially Jorhe. Happy hour daily 12-1PM, 5-6PM & 9-10PM. Used the restaurant for Breakfast and Lunch & Dinner. Great Breakfast Buffet for $12.95 all-u-can-eat. Excellent Burgers and Southwestern wrap, bread was very fresh. Tuesday night they have all-you-can-eat-Ribs and get this...they let you take home a doggie bag...incredible!!! On the beach with beautiful views and music, ask them to play the song about Alice! (you must have a sense of humor)

We also stayed at the Bacuti and walked over to Matthews for dinner on our first night (3/29). I was very pleaantly surprised by the quality of the food. Had sesame encrusted tuna that was very good, would have been "excellent" except it was not rare, as was requested. But, still moist and the overal presentation was as good or better than I have had in Fairfield county (CT) or NYC restauants. Some samll surprises, like amazing fresh and delicious veggies that came with diiner. We had scallops on a skewer as an appettizer. Again, delicious and a large portion! A real find, and will definitely go again on our next Arubda trip. Before I forget, excellent service from our server Kelly!

We stayed at the Bucuti and were happy how close this restaurant was to us.
We ate here twice, once for lunch which was delicious. I had the Sushi Grade Tuna w/ veggies and hubby had a wrap. Excellent quality and Victor made us great drinks.
Dinner was equally as wonderful.
We would visit here again.
Service was better than most places.

We stayed at the Bucuti and walked over to Matthews since it was so close. We did not have a reservation, and were seated immediately at a table that had a gorgeous view of the sunset. There were probably only 3 or 4 other tables that were occupied.

We had calamari as an appetizer - a bit rubbery and hard to chew, and very large - different. I had the shrimp Kabob, my husband had the Chicken Kabob. The Shrimp was delicious, his chicken was dry. The mashed potatoes were clearly placed on the plate long before the meat/shrimp was ready, so they were cold by the time we got the dish.

The service was great, no complaints on the timeliness in which we received our drinks, app. and food.

All in all we found the view of the sunset and the ambiance to be the best thing about Matthews.

Matthew's was a good first night choice for us within walking distance of Costa Linda. The restaurant is right off the beach. The entrees we had were very good - my wife had the tuna and my daughter and I had the pina colada shrimp. The desserts were average. Definitely not in the class of MJ's or Yemanja but still a good choice.

We ate at the buffet breakfast - $12.95 - several times over the Christmas holidays. The selection was fantastic - from omlets made to order to smoked salmon. The French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage, coldcuts, and cheeses, as well as juices and sweets were delicious - to name a few of the items on the buffet. The atmosphere is great - right on the beach, although the birds like to help you eat your breakfast. We had eaten at Rumba's so we knew it would be good.

Visited Matthew's from a walk down the beach November 14th. Stopped first at the bar for Happy Hour where we were very disappointed. The was only a frozen drink menu and when we pressed for a non-frozen drink the non-friendly bartender made us a very poor rum punch. Also, experienced many flies that had me concerned about the restaurant- fortunately, the flies were not an issue at our dinner table. Our experience on the other side of the bar in the restaurant was very good. A huge $5 glass of wine and a very nice Jack/Sprite cocktail. The salad and surf and turf were excellent. The staff was proficient although not overly friendly or memorable. Would definitely go back for the wine, food, and ambiance!
